MicroProse Returns with Warbirds 2020

Recommended Posts

Vanguard ? ... in the clip one thing says it all ... "We're only getting started" :-)

A game engine is not yet ... a game.

OTOH money can work miracles (well except in the case of Star Citizen), so who knows ?

They also have the name 'Microprose'.

I, personally, still keep my hopes up ... at least they seem to have something already.

Good Luck !

So it's just a person with their own game engine that bought the name of microprose?

Yes, it's quite funny when people expect some miracles just because company has old name lol.

In November 2003, Atari Inc. closed the last former MicroProse development studio in Hunt Valley.

Since 2018, the MicroProse brand has been owned by David Lagettie, working with Bill Stealey's own company iEntertainment Network on the Warbirds series of combat flight simulators.

It's just a new company with old name, doubt any veteran of old company still works there. That whole microprose name was changing owners quite a lot since 2007 :P

It's kind of like with bioware. It has old name that everyone knows from classics like baldurs gate etc. but today it means nothing. Pretty much everyone from old team left so now it's just  a name.

Yeah I know a lot of guitar companies that are the same way.

Bill Stealey is the original founder of MicroProse from 1982, he was the president of MicroProse from 1982-1993, and he is in the 'new' MicroProse.

So what? Bill Stealey didn't code falcon 4.0 by himself. Also TitanIM runs on the outtera engine.) lagetti didn't create the entire TitanIM software from the ground up. Hasn't really done a whole lot with it either. I'll keep holding my final judgment till we see some actual footage in game in video format. However from what I've seen from the early 3d models it isn't looking like anything more than a hastily cobbled together mess.
