I suppose it goes without saying that kwiatek was the pilot. It was sure nice to be able to ride along with him and delve into his flying life a bit. Thank you. Respect to all you guys who fly for real.

Thank you for posting that video. Some amazing airmanship on display there. This is truly a tragic loss.

As someone who “flies for real” since very recently, let me assure you there’s a tremendous difference in skill between doing aerobatics in a custom build and going up for a leisurely drive around the block in a Cessna 172 Honda Civic (or Piper 28 Ford Escort).

In spite of the tragedy, I hope that this detracts no one from getting his or her wings. If you can afford it, it’s absolutely worth it, if nothing else but to improve your sim flying. Don’t be afraid of death, sooner or later it happens to all of us regardless. Be afraid not to live. I’m sure that Kwiatek would agree.

S!

Rest in peace. May the winds be light. Condolences to the family. Knew him since original IL-2, a big loss.

I just learned about this. I'm so sad.

Rise of Flight has been a big, and great, part of my life. And that was all because of the commmunity. And Kwiatek was a big part of that community. So thank you, Kwiatek.

I'm a bit late viewing this, not being as much of a regular flyer as I used to be, but I am moved to offer my condolences to his family and friends. I remember well flying with and against him in the hyperlobby days. He was a formidable opponent, one best avoided. Sad to see he has passed away, but glad he is not suffering.
