Given the double-whammy of low-rez etc and 1:1 head-movement scaling, vs all those using TiR, is there any chance that those planes known to have them in reality could have mirrors added to their planes? :)

As far as I was aware all planes that had them in real life  also have them in game,  usually as an option.     Are there some that do not?

Ah you should have said you were talking about WW1 aircraft.  All the WW2 aircraft have them.

German WWII aircraft had no mirrors standard fitted AFAIK. There was some field mods by the mechanics that fitted mirrors to planes where the pilots wanted them.

I did fly the 110 a couple of minutes ago and no rear mirrors

110 had mirrors. Others had as well, just not in series. It was expected that the mechanics mounted them. Even the Stuka had mirrors, read Rudel's exploits :)

Why did they put mirrors in 110 and Stuka? Surely the rear gunner is better than mirrors.

for the same reason most planes have multiple compasses. In case one stopps working. Also i can imagine that some voice cominucation can get lost while shooting and getting shot.

Actually it might be useful. Many times Jürgen has stopped firing back there because he is dead. With mirror I could see his condition more easily.

In the AH-1 Cobra helicopter gunship, the crew is seated with the copilot/gunner in front of and below the pilot. The pilot's instrument panel blocks direct observation of each crew member by the other. Primarily for phycological reasons (wondering if the other guy is asleep or dead  when the intercom is out), a small mirror was placed on the upper right frame of the front canopy so the crew could maintain eye to eye visual contact.  👀
