"Recon" as primary target

Recommended Posts

Sorry if I often refer to IL-2 46, but I think most of us come from that experience and know its Full Mission Builder and its therms.
So my question is:
- how can I carry out a mission in which one of the goal (primary or secondary objective) is the "recon" (that is the overflight of a specific area) or the "recon object" (ie the meeting with a specific object inside a certain area).
I am thinking, for example, of the rendezvous between escort-fighters and bombers or the flight over an enemy objective for reconnaissance purposes.
I guess you need to use the Check Zone MCU trigger, but I was not able to set up it correctly to get my purpose.
Thanks for your help...

See "Detect Objects Entering or Exiting an Area" and the example following on pg. 82 of the editor manual.

The manual example uses a complex trigger translator. You could also try object linking a check zone trigger to the recon plane instead of setting a coalition to True in the trigger. However, I haven't built that scenario.

I had read the sample in the manual but the situation i want represent is a bit different. But i'll try tonight to explore your suggest. I understand that this BoS Editor is so complex as  interesting and almost unlimited to learn and explore leaving wide space to the own phantasy solutions...

Alf if you want to be specific then I’ll tell you if anything comes to mind.

For instance you can use the proximity trigger for rendezvous/success condition.

Very well my boys !!!
I solved both my problems ...
With Complex Trigger I created the "recon" task (ie the fly by the player over a certain area) and with Proximity I created the "recon target" (ie the sighting / rendezvous the player with another object, in the my case with an airplane to escort).
Particularly interesting was the Proximity trigger, a MCUS on which I had never before paid attention, but that was just what I was looking for.
Thanks Gambit and thanks Jim, and if it's not for you too much disturb, I will still ask your help, with specific questions, to improve my learning curve more quickly ...

Gambit I have tried to use the Proximity trigger anda it's very powerful.

But I have some question on about works this MCU.

Having said that my example concerns the player who must meet somewhere on the map another friendly plane and this is the mission's primary task.
Let's say that the player flies on a Bf-109 G2 and the object of the match is a Ju-52 and the goal is when the player enters the range of 3000 meters. from Ju-52.
In advanced properties I set the parameters of Proximity with 3000 m, distance closer and Axis true for Plane Coalition.
But what should I put in the properties?
As target link (output) I put a Subtitle, showing the appropriate message.
The input for Proximity is a target link from to 2-second Timer which is targeted from a Begin Mission.
And the Object link must be the object that the player must detect (Ju-52) or the player itself?

In the screeshot Mission Begin --> TL Delay 2 sec which causes the Ju-52 to fly to the Waypoint and at the same time activates the Proximity (question: is it possible for a Trigger Timer to activate two MCUSs simultaneously, isn't it ?).
The Proximity has the OL Ju-52 and when the distance between this and the player (which in the meantime flies to him) enters the range of 3000 m. the message is activated and the condition for reaching the primary objective is triggered.
It's correct ?
Or the Proximity must have an OL not with the Ju-52 but with the player?

See pg. 87 in the editor manual, specifically the two bullet points in step 2.

Too monitor the proximity of specific objects only, object link the trigger to each object and set all coalitions to False in the advanced properties.

Jim posted as I was typing, but yep.

In short object link to both objects and leave the coalitions settings alone.

Great Jim's think alike.

Thank guys, but what I want to undertand is very simple.

To trigger the specific distance from two planes - one of them being the player and the other being a plane of the same coalition, suppose Germany - where does appear in the properties or advanced properties of Proximity the Player and where the other plane. Which must be the links connecting this three entities and how must I set the plane coalition (true only Germany ?)

Thanks.

Note that I want to trigger the distance between the Player and a specific plane (object) with a specfic ID, not all the object of the same coalition...

What I have understood in my tests is that I have to set false for all the coalitions.

It remains yet a doubt if both Player and the plane to be detected must be object linked BY the Proximity or only the latter.

From proximity trigger...

Shift/O to player

AND...

Shift/O to other aircraft.

You now have 2 green lines from the trigger. One to each aircraft.

You also need to trigger the proximity trigger with something. Mission begin, etc.

Coalition F for all - don’t touch those settings.
