Heard the Flugpark was maxed out today again....great stuff. It's THE place to be!!!

Just been on there and was about 20 guys remaining on server. Hagar was given ping warning and kicked (he seemed to believe he was getting disconnected when ending sortie for some reason) then I noticed the kicked for ping message. While the server was at max capacity his ping was ~150. And right now just after I've disconnected its ~90. I've not seen him warping or anything in any sorties that I've hung around with him either. So yeah the limit could perhaps be increased a touch, and there's quite some room to increase before the server starts to enable the warpers to enter.

Yep.  A 340+ ping is normal for me.  

I joined in yesterday too and flew a recon-A mission.  I rang the three dinner gongs at the end but didn’t see any credit for the more than 60 minute flight.

Flew a recon mission Saturday, all good and made it back with pictures. 

Sadly no credit, which is not very rewarding. 

Is it the game it's self which do not allowe credit, for recon photo missions, or a mission error?

Game, but the mission makers have made a work around for that, am sure its mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but also believe some have reported that the work around does not work either?

We are implementing a fix to the beta version on the next update to improve the workaround.   The server should have still responded by unlocking new targets etc.   The workaround provides the pilot completing the recon or other two.seater mission, points and credit towards awards that will be developed once the system is fully operational.

You can scroll up to previous posting describing process to get points.  Requirements include landing at correct field and shooting with handgun objects that appear  in a hangar for credit.

And yes, the targets did unlock. 

 

Also plz correct me if I'm wrong. We can't take photos above 2800 meters? 

Because on recon B (most dangerous area) I were at 3500 meters and the camera didn't activate. Assume that was because I was above 2800.

Correct.  Rollover recon icon with mouse while in mission to see requirements.

Be prepared to be frustrated for the time being.  We are going to change it so there are fewer objects to shoot as some of us (😆) haven't been able to successfully destroy all three objects with one handgun clip without reloading.

 

This improvement will come in a update coming shortly.

PS use the Mauser, with nine bullets per clip it gives a pilot the most chance for success.....3 bullets per object.

You should be fine since J5 is located in the US.  WoL is located somewhere in Russia.

And the tweaking continues!

Thank you all for the continued feedback and support...  Dialing some of this stuff in continues to be a real challenge.

Mission updates deploying now.

 

Change list Doullens Cambrai:

- Photo recon target distances significantly reduced to reduce time required in air

- Fixed: Recon icon in Sector C on the allied side will now deactivate properly

- Fixed: Trench attack icon in Sector C on the central side will now activate properly after successful recon in that sector

- Changed: Trench attack logic: to 4 targets out of 5 have to be destroyed to complete the objective

- Changed: Trench attack units: there are now 4 aa MGs (only 1 out of the 4 is shooting at players) and 1 tank due to parser not registering anti infantry MGs

- Changed: Trench attack layout: units are now in a dougout

- Changed: Plane set: There are now 9 Spad slots with a respawn time of 12min

                                   There are now 6 Fokker D.VIIF slots with a respawn time of 12min

                                   After all 3 recons are successful there are now unlimited Spad 13, Bristol Fighter F.III, Fokker D.VIIF and Halberstadt Cl.IIau available at the rear                                                             airfields.

- Changed: AAA at the rear recon airfields are indestructible

- Changed: AAA at all airfields and ground targets are now at high AI skill level

 

- Edit: Changed: Respawn time for recon planes has increased.

 

Change list St.Quentin Arras:

- Photo recon target distances significantly reduced to reduce time required in air to complete.

- All AI ground units given unlimited ammo... because in IL2 "limited ammo" checkbox actually works, and definitely works too well.  This should help prevent some ground units engaged in combat from running out of ammo during the fight.

- Entire AAA system repeatedly beaten over the head with a swagger stick

  • It turns out that AAA units on both sides were suffering from ammunition shortages as detailed above.  Responsible logistics commanders have been sacked.  Depots are now full of fresh shells straight from the factory.
  • Some German AAA gunners had not recieved updated instructions from their COs for some time and were only looking for Soviet planes to shoot at.  The responsible COs have been sacked.  All AAA gunners have been reeducated appropriately for duty in Flying Circus.
  • Vulching over airfields should be rendered kaput at this point - but if it's not then we're going to break out heavier WW2 defenses.

- The number of targets to kill with your pistol for points as a reward for photo recon missions has been reduced to a third, but they're now worth 3x as much.  We're saving the environment by reducing the required expenditure of toxic lead.

You can also check who is flying on Flying Circus Flugpark in this online list: https://il2.flying-barans.ru/. Right now it has 15 players. In a couple hours, prime Sunday time, it will have 70+ players, probably maxing out at 75 players for a couple hours.

I don't why ppl are so much for kill steal, unfortunately game scores and stat parser do not help.
Got him dead and burning, so I disengae to regain SA, but then my "friend" came puts one round into burning plane and got the kill. 

 

Take it. but this is just wasting the ammo and do not make sense plus someone might be angry 😉

i've noticed FC mp is not very busy. both nights i have checked there is no one on sadly. hopefully picks up eventually! :)

What is your time zone gad 11? The Flugpark is mostly active from 1800 to 2300 GMT. On Thursdays it is also very active from 2000 - 0000 Eastern Time (US friendly time zone).

SOunds good. I'll keep an eye on it. I am MST in NA, so sadly I think I miss the peak as i get on a bit later. Look forward to trying it out! FC dogfighting is so fun, can't wait to try it with actual folks.

finally saw some action last night. was a good time. got shot down 3 times but still learning. maybe i need a different aircraft. i am partial to the Albatross but I kept getting swarmed by Camels as she's so slow. Any recommendations on a German aircraft?

DR1 if you want to do the Tango with Camels ......D7 if you want to boom and zoom them .......Alb's are better in group's .

Dr1's yeah. Used to be my favorit dogfight aircraft, but for some reason the engine get damaged every time I make my first turn to ingage the enemy. Which leaves me in a hopeless situation. 

And to that I get pilot killed even if the aircraft is already spinning down, every time. Must be a bloody good shooter.

SUNDAY PATCH:  DOULLENS CAMBRAI

 

Fixed: Entente Recon C doesn't activate central icon for trench attack in sector C anymore. 

Fixed: Every recon subtitle has it's own space on the screen now to prevent them from overlapping.

            Recon A is bottom left, recon B is bottom center and recon C is bottom right.

Changed: Recon mission script, so that if a recon gets shot down the next recon will spawn after 5 minuites. This is done to prevent recon exploit and long waits for recon planes. To not interfere with the other recon planes every recon has its own airfield now. 

Changed: When a side completes 1 recon it gets immidiately rewarded with limited better planes. Planes will get unlimited, when all 3 recon tasks are accomplished.

Added: Airfields Allonville, Soncamp, Flaucourt and Lechelle. Switched Gonnelieu with Epinoy again. Unlimited fighter planes and 2 escort 2 seaters are available there.

 (and yes I know there's only 9 showing, but there must be at LEAST half dozen or so invisible ones.)
