57th would be absolutely amazing for an italian 1944-45 theater.

Twould most certainly be! I did Schmaltzie because I've pretty much done it every time I get the opportunity since I started skinning so here seemed like a necessary thing to do!!

You can indeed. I'm at work on some other stuff at the moment but I will definitely give it a browse and see what arises!! ;)

Mind you, that nose cowling looks like it could be fun!! That's a days worth of 'rinse and repeat' if ever I saw it!!

@keeno @Yankee_One @DD_Arthur  Thanks chaps, it really is a pleasure, really. The appreciation DOES make an old man very happy though.

Based on a P-47D 25 flown by Lt. Col. William Bailey, 352nd FS, 353rd FG, based in Raydon, UK, this unit was nicknamed Butch II as Bailey had previously flown an earlier P-47 with

the same moniker..

Well, the camo is standard British and there is no white stripe anywhere apart from the d-day stripes. When doing these skins you can only go by the evidence presented and that is often from military artists, who often did batches of images and so therefore a ski9n on a plane such as this is, ergo, subject to interpretation by the current artist (ie me).

Got it! Good research!

I know, it's what I do. The thing is, I'm not TOO 'anal' if something is a little bit off so yeah, 'artistic licence' CAN be the order of the day!! Enjoy it anyway, y'hear?!! :salute:

We need to start putting all of the P-47 skins in one thread so skinners don’t make the same skin twice..l

Ohhhh... go ON then! Give me a few days though, I've just spent the last two days doing Philadelphia Filly/Torrid Tessie. I need to actually FLY the thing. Shouldn't be too difficult because the noseart is already done so... ;)

Well that's why I started this thread, so that there was a place to put the T'Bolts. As for people doing the same skin twice, I personally aint bothered about that. It's a poor do if you want to do a skin and CAN'T just because someone has done it before you. I don't even regard it as any sort of 'competition' as I personally love to see other guys' skins and have also done ones that have been done by others, just because I've looked forward to doing them... ;):salute:

It’s not so much about Doing double skins it’s more just one place for all the skins, But I believe Spectre had the first thread started for the P 47 no big deal

If I'd have seen his thread then I would of course posted up there but I didn't which is why I did this one. No probz.

Spektre had the first thread but it was a 2k skins thread. Others fellows skinners posted there a lot of 4k skins. That's the deal but no matter.

Anyway this part of the forum, the skins & template section is a real mess !

It can be, yes. To be honest it's a helluva bind to transfer all these over to that one so unless someone else wants to do it... It's as much as my poor old head can cope with to do the skins and then remember what I'm doing (and in what order) when I get to posting them!! :scratch_one-s_head:;)
