There were a metric ass ton of colonials in the 2nd TAF and in the RAF in general, even when one doesn't count the Article XV squadrons either. Not necessarily volunteering myself, unless your really desperate, which I gather from the responses that I've read through is not likely, but I can only agree with HB, in that I think it would be a bit off a miss if you did not consider having a good smattering of Commonwealth voices in the UK mix. The colourfully unique, Kiwi, South African/Rhodesian, Canadian and of course Aussie accents (sorry If overlooked anybody) where in no doubt quite plentiful over the airwaves during that period (including that of my Brother's Father-in-law, a RAAF Pilot serving in Bomber Command, who was shot down and became a POW in 44). =FERDA=Shoresy 3
Hey Jason, I’m a 29 year old Californian who spent most of my childhood in the state of Georgia, as well as some time in Alaska (and can do the accents fine). I have access to a professional studio, my friend does audio for commercials (he recently did a training video for Alaska Airlines). I’m more than happy to do this. I wouldn't really think of our accents as being colourful, or unique, but my brother and I would love to send some recordings the dev's way, and be a part of IL-2 history! We have a mic setup, and good recording software for touch-ups. We're 20 and 23, and will sound the same as Americans from the North-West. SpartanXXVAlanKurtz 0
Hello, I am a 28 year old American from Missouri. I have naturally a rather plain American dilect with sometimes some southern twang that will appear in my words. I can naturally emitate southern, Brooklyn, New Jersey, and a few other accents and their word choices. I only have one British accent I can do which is more Manchester I believe, but I can do other European accents, Irish and Scottish being my best. In most accents I have different versions and ates I can do. Also, when I say I can do their accents I mean more do them naturally, not the stereotypical ones where it is evident you are trying to my mic something. Thank you for reading. -SF-Disarray 542
I'm 32, from the US Pacific North West, so I speak with what is usually considered a general American accent. I have some mil comms experience but mostly from training, no field/practical radio work to speak of but I'm familiar with the basics. I have not done VO work but I have some experience with memorizing lines and delivering them naturally. Edited October 9, 2018 by Disarray
[TWB]80hd 563
I am 42, but my wife says I am a child, so I think she means I have a youthful voice. I have a rich, sultry midwestern accent, would be happy to give it a shot... could do a couple samples and see if it's what you're looking for, just let me know.

THE__PWN3R 0
Hi there, ive turned 23 not too long ago and have a rather traditional/ posh sounding British accent (people at work joke that I'm a time traveller from the 40s) it's my natural speaking voice so it doesn't sound fabricated either

Raptorattacker 2425
HIya! I've been in the recording business for years and years (which doesn't necessarily count in ANYONE'S favour!). I would be more than happy to provide any assistance. I'm English, can do (certainly) any English accent(s) and many others... I do NOT have an Oscar or BAFTA award in any shape or form! [Pb]Cybermat47 1529
Australian, 19. Not sure if there were enough Australians in 2nd TAF RAF units to justify an Australian VA, though.
Soilworker 366
I'm from New Zealand, 31, I would say I have a slightly more subtle Kiwi accent (but I can broaden it up if need be) and I can do a range of other accents but it looks like there are enough native people to cover them. And I have a condenser mic.

Gambit21 5416
It's a good thought Raptor, but Jason needs not only full sentences, bit also many individual words and sentence fragments to implement in the current system. I keep it to full, scripted calls only that deal with specific mission circumstances, so there is little overlap between the needs of the two projects. Example - I had an actor call out fighters in a handful of directions, I didn't record a 360, 010, 020, 030, etc, accounting for the entire compass.
616Sqn_Johnny-Red 289
I spotted this rather late in the day: Yorkshire accented native English speaker. University educated. Former crown servant. Standard Pronunciation. Navigator / Sergeant Pilot / RAFVR Material. Accents of my native region would range between Sean Bean and Malcolm McDowell - broad to posh. Not entirely unlike the chap who can read his watch by the light of the searchlights during the first audio recording in this thread. People have always said I had a face made for radio. I would be happy to help. Edited October 12, 2018 by Johnny-Red Two l's in McDowell!
Willie_Makeit 0
A friend that plays IL2 for a very long time suggested that I check into this. Many folks have said I have a good voice. Though I think I have no accent, I can do a southern accent. I'm a non-smoker and 54 though I can't say I sound that old. I'm in southern Louisiana, USA. I do have a copy of IL2 from steam and have played it a couple of times.

US93_Larner 1626
Only just seen this - I'm not very observant - but sounds like a lot of fun! Native Brit - If you're still looking, 23, so I'd like to think I've got the "youthful" part down I've got a pretty good mic on hand. My accent's a little on the funny side - London with the odd Scottish inflection mixed in (very subtle, but folks down south seem to pick up on it...up North, not so much 😄)!
