Had the original gray handles replaced by the coloured ones, quite happy with the extra buttons. In VR it takes some time to build muscle memory like with all consoles but once that was done I just won't go back to a console with lesser buttons/switches/rotators. It feels so great to actually turn a wheel to setting trim in the IL-2. Thanks Ismo for your great work. Ismo is my real name - but my friends called me in Finland also as "Kanttori"! Thank you Hsthhhsth for your post and nice words! We have also change many good throtte and Joystick Gremlin ideas with him by E-mail. LLv44_Kanttori 482
NEW: In Game Key Mapping Tutorial After last 3.201 big update and hotfixes I made a PDF-tutorial to my current 34 customers. There is an updated scheme picture (above) and simple instructions how to map this console in the game's Settings/Key Mapping page. There are many new game features (for ex. trimms to analog axes, rearming and refueling etc.) after last 3.201 big update, so you can check examples and suggestion how to use them with this all-round and very multifunctional home cockpit controller!I have polished my mapping two years and those functions are almost perfect with many Axis and Allies planes. There are all the mostly needed fighters and bombers throttle console functions - you don't need to touch your keyboard practically at all. https://www.kanttorinkone.com/console/in_game_key_mapping.pdf Here are all the full Setup instructions in my web pages: https://www.kanttorinkone.com/setup.html Edited August 12, 2020 by LLv44_Kanttori
LLv44_Kanttori 482
New! Left-handed (mirrored) console model In the picture above is a custom "mirrored" console to my left-handed customer from the USA. He is going to use it on his table so there is a small bakellite 50mm (diameter) trim wheel instead of the big 120mm elevator trim/stabilizer wheel. Also the front big silver/black knob of the rotary encoder pot is new and it's destined to bombs delay and mode toggle selector (rotating it clockwise or counter clockwise). Only the trim axles are equipped with those black bakellite knobs (and normally with the big trim wheel on the left or right side wall). All these customizations are possible to order with my current left/right-handed console models. Edited December 17, 2019 by LLv44_Kanttori 1
LLv44_Kanttori 482
Something new: On the front end of the console are all the flight and weapons mode selecting buttons. In the picture above is a new autopilot turn left/right 3-way switch knob. Now all the becoming consoles are equipped with this bigger and better knob. You can also assign it yourself if you have done some electronics, it's a very simple "field mod". There are also new bigger gears up/down (black) and flaps up/down (light gray) big knobs as picture above. They are now easy to find when your hand rests on throttle handle. Flaps knob can also be black. Edited August 9, 2020 by LLv44_Kanttori
LLv44_Kanttori 482
How to map Kanttorin Kone Throttle Console with the Cliffs of Dover Blitz/Tobruk gamesInstructions can be applied to the all USB controllers which have over 32 Buttons and switches functions! I have bought the Cliffs of Dover Blitz and examined how my console and other USB devices work with it. I have remapped my consoles 72 button functions with the Joystick Gremlin and vJoy (virtual device) and they work very good also in that simulator. You can download those great applications from here:Joystick Gremlin - Free Configuration Software vJoy - Free Virtual Device1. Console's 8 Axes and First 1-32 Buttons MappingCloD supports 32 button functions, so you can set the first 32 buttons and all eight axes with the (whatever) physical console directly by moving or clicking the desired axis, button or switch for the desired function in the OPTIONS/CONTROLS menu. There are my setup and example pictures how I mapped Kanttorin Kone device's (visible as OJ16) eight Axes and some buttons like gears up/down and flaps up/down: 2. Console's next 33-64 buttons mapping with the Joystick Gremlin and vJoy With the Joystick Gremlin I have mapped 32 additional virtual vJoy buttons and CloD reads those vJoy Buttons (and virtual device) as like it's another device. There are some pictures how I have mapped my console easy and quickly with the joystick Gremlin. I have saved my mapping as a new Joystick Gremlin profile to CloD called "CLOD BLITZ". Notice that I have a totally different profile to the IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles series bercause it "understands" 64 Buttons USB controllers with the button numbers 0 to 63 (which is very odd numbering... ). That special profile is called GREAT BATTLES and I can switch it open and active even during the game (if I forget to activate it when changing from CloD to GB and vice versa).2.1. How to Map Physical Console Buttons to vJoy Buttons 1. Select from the Joystick Gremlin Menu bar: File/New Profile. Find your device from the upper Device List row - my console's device name "OJ16" (same as MJ16) is highlighted. Click your throttle console name and you can see from the left column all the physical console's 112 Buttons (72 are wired and used). Leave the 8 Axles and Buttons from 1 to 32 as they are, they don't need any mapping. 2. Activate the desired Button 33 from your left device Button list. It's the first button which needs remapping with the CloD. vJoy Buttons and Keyboard Commands are becoming to the right wide column. Select from the list Remap and then click Add as the picture below shows (Remap is default). 3. A new Remap Window appears to the right vJoy column as in the picture below. 4. Select from the Remap Window list Button 1 (it's a default number). Then Activate the next desired Button 34 from your left device Button list and Select from the Remap Window list Button 2 (it automatically comes next). Notice that those remapped button numbers in the left row colums are updated after you har loaded the file again. 5. Do the same for all the next 32 buttons and switches you want to enable on your console (Their Console Button numbers are from 33 to 112) . The 32 buttons in the vJoy virtual device is also the upper limit with the CloD, so plan carefully which switches you want to end up mapping as keyboard commands. 2.2. How to Map Physical Console Buttons to vJoy Keyboard Commands Because the Kanttorin Kone Throttle console has 72 different button functions (they are wired) they does not fit on the 32 buttons on the physical console or the vJoy. Now I'm introducing vJoy's Map to Keyboard commands and we have more features in use again! I have mapped all my three rotary encoders (like mouse wheels) and some special buttons like Eject (Open Cabin + Jump!) and Start as Keyboard Commands. 1. Activate the desired Button 88 (example to the red covered On-Off switch forward position) from the left device Button list. vJoy Keyboard Commands are becoming to the right wide column like remapped buttons. Select from the dropdown list (there reads as default Remap) Map to Keyboard and then click Add. 2. Find from the Remap Window Record key button and activate recording by clicking it. There appears a small gray popup-menu: Please press the desired key and then simply click number 5 from your Numpad keyboard (or anything else keyboard letter etc. what you want). 3. Next, repeat steps 1 and 2 above until you have entered all the key commands you want. For ex. that Eject On-Off switch can send 2 different Button numbers: When you click it forwards it sends Button 88 and backwards Button 96. Map to Button 96 number 6 from your Numpad keyboard. Then you can assign that red covered On-Off switch in theCloD's OPTIONS/CONTROLS menu as this: Switch forwards = Numpad 5 = Jettison Canopy AND Switch backwards = Numpad 6 = Bail Out (Just hit the red cover down!). You got it? 2.3. How to Map Empty slots to vJoy Keyboard Commands This is simple: If the physical console's Button has an empty vJoy Column there are any functions. You can delete incorrect or accidentally created (vJoy) popup-window from the X-icon/button in the upper right corner of the Remap, Map to Keyboard etc.3. Special features when mapping Kanttorin Kone Device The MJ16 USB circuit board inside the Kanttorin Kone Throttle Console has several groups of 8 buttons with a common ground wire. Each color represents one group of buttons. The groups are consecutive physical switches and the color coding allows you to get the game button mapping done easily (with the eight button groups) and quickly to the very many different games with different mapping system. For example (look the picture below) you can map all the RED color axes and BLUE color buttons directly from the physical console the OPTIONS/CONTROLS menu of CloD. Due to the clear wiring inside the console, only 2 x 8 = 16 buttons are connected from the first groups of 4 x 8 = 32 buttons. Second groups of 32 buttons are almost all connected and then there are VERY special buttons 65-112 like rotary encoders and On-Off switches which sends two different Button number depending are they clicked On or Off. I have not used that feature, I have mapped front end VIOLET On-Off switches as a toggle type simple buttons.4. My mapping system with the CloD (JS Means Joystick Gremlin with the vJoy) Buttons 1-32 which can mapped directly:RED 1-8 Axes: map from the console with the instructions above BLUE Buttons 1-8: map directly from the console with the instructions above BLUE Buttons 17-24: map directly from the console with the instructions above Buttons 33-102 which needs vJoy remapping: WHITE Buttons 33-40 to YELLOW vJoy Buttons 1-8: Map with the JS and then with the console buttons when JS is ACTIVEWHITE Buttons 41-48 to GREEN vJoy Buttons 9-16: Map with the JS and then with the console buttons when JS is ACTIVE THROTTLE - WHITE Buttons 49-55 + 86/94 to ORANGE vJoy Buttons 17-24: Map with the JS and then with the console buttons when JS is ACTIVEWHITE Buttons 65-80 to VIOLET vJoy Buttons 25-32: Map with the JS and then with the console buttons when JS is ACTIVE WHITE Buttons and rotary encoders 87-102 to Key Commands: Map with the JS and then with the console buttons when JS is ACTIVE Read more IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles game Joystick Gremlin and vJoy Mapping examples from my official web pages:Kanttorin Kone Throttle Console - Setting Up Edited August 12, 2020 by LLv44_Kanttori New text information 1
LLv44_Kanttori 482
Joystick Gremlin code file to Kanttorin Kone console You can copy and paste this new CloD profile for.ex over your Great Battles Series Kanttorin Kone device list text (use it as a base file). FIRST: Rename your xml file as CLOD.xml or something like My CloD Profile.xml etc.SECOND: Be sure to back up your old Great Battles series profiles! The default folder is always "User/Joystick Gremlin", so keep the different profiles you use (with the different games) just there! THIRD: Delete all the Numpad 0.... Numpad 9 Keyboard commands from your Cliffs of Dover Options/Controls menu mapping pages. I have used all those Numpad 0-9 Key Commands to map: All the three Rotary Encoders (use two of them as trimms: rudder trim left-right = Numpad 3-4 and elevator trim up/down = Numpad 1 - 2) Start push/pull button (pull = Numpad 9 and Push = Numpad 0) EJECT On-Off Switch (forward position = Numpad 7 = Jettison canopy and backward position = Numpad 8 = Bail Out!) You can see all the mapped vJoy Button numbers coloured picture above the previous thread! 👆NOTICE: in the beginning of that profile xml-code is some important information to your other USB-controllers, so leave that text untouched (it looks very similar in your profile): <?xml version="1.0" ?> <profile version="9"> <devices> <device device-guid="{1D2F4670-8C3D-11E6-8007-444553540000}" label="" name="Flight Control Rudder" type="joystick"> <mode name="Default"> <axis description="" id="4"/> <axis description="" id="5"/> <axis description="" id="6"/> </mode> </device> <device device-guid="{6F1D2B61-D5A0-11CF-BFC7-444553540000}" label="" name="keyboard" type="keyboard"> <mode name="Default"/> </device> <device device-guid="{95D3F870-5494-11E8-8001-444553540000}" label="" name="OJ16" type="joystick"> My console is named as OJ16 (last row above), but it might be also "MJ16", "MRUD" or "TRTL". Find your similar device row and delete your old code text starting just under it. The portion to be deleted ends lines like these (below) which lists the last button 112 + hat on the console: <button description="" id="112"/> <hat description="" id="1"/> </mode> FINALLY: After that please download the following code text file (below) to your computer. Then copy/paste it to the empty place you just did (deleted) for your profile file. After that save as your profile again as CLOD.xml (or somerthig like that). Then your console is ready to button mapping with the CloDs Options/Controls pages! CloD text file to Kanttorin Kone Console.txt I'm working just now with the almost finished IL-2 Sturmovik - Great Battles / Joystick Gremlin-vJoy profile. I share it here this week as soon as it's tested and ok. Notice that these downloadable profile files are only traced to my Kanttorin Kone Throttle Console. LLv32_Modo 4
I’ve used Kanttorin Kone console now for 2,5 years and have been very pleased not only with the console but also the service I’ve got from the manufacturer. I lost one button from the handle and saw that I could install a new one if I only had one. So, I mailed Kanttori to tell about my problem, and after 2 days I had the new button with all install information I needed. I, also, have got a lot of extra information about new and better software I can use with the console, for example switching from SV Mapper to Joystick Gremlin and how to use it. He does amazing job and I really do like the console. Works like charm with my Slaw pedals and Baur KG13 stick.

LLv44_Kanttori 482
Console production is accelerating Some good news to my old and new customers: My son Jonathan is starting in October 2020 to help me build consoles and it's also the start to our becoming family business! Jonathan is a computer specialist and also an electronics enthusiast and of course a virtual pilot in the IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles game. The current three-month queuing period will be reduced to one month by Christmas. In the future, I can take care of better customer support by doing ready-made Joystick Gremlin customer-specific mapping profiles for the Cliffs of Dover and Great Battles series games. New extended bomber console model is coming soon! Picture below shows the first plan of my universal console model to the bombers. The bomber console has exactly the same case, but new switches have been added to the left side wall (upper side in the picture): one push-button, one 5-position rotary switch, four on-off-on toggle switches and one rotary encoder for the special bomber functions (some function examples in the picture). This new "Deluxe Model" will be introduced in more detail during October 2020. Edited October 3, 2020 by LLv44_Kanttori
LLv44_Kanttori 482
Those bomber console switche's and buttons places, types and functions are not final, I'm just planning them with my thousands of Multiplayer flight hours with the Ju88 and He 111. Please give me some ideas of those ad-ones button function: what do you think that we need with the Cliffs of Dover and Great Battles 2-motor bomber throttle consoles? MJ16 USB-circuit board has room to 16 additional buttons, a 4-way hat switch and one rotary encoder (Bombs mode toggle -> clockwise and Bombs delay toggle <- counterclockwise). As you can see in my "labels" there are a "FUEL CONSUMPTION" which is working with the CLOD (and hopefully soon with a GREAT BATTLES). But can you map the console's 5-position rotary switch to five different tanks (as Ju 88 has) and select with it the tank you want to use? I'm just investigating it... This "Fuel consumption" sounds strange... is the "Fuel tank selector"? If yes: CloD controls logic is a bit more flexible than in GB but still a bit an il-2:46 leftover, allow only toggle (e.g. ON-OFF) or next and previous (e.g. OFF >Magneto 1 > Magneto 2 > Both, rinse and repeat). I think that a 5 position sector switch will not fit well for this tank management, because you have, example for Blenheim tank 1, tank 2 with 3 positions and tank 3 (that is a balance between 2 and 3) with 2 positions, and tank each with their own controls keys/buttons, or they require 6 keys/buttons for control. BTW - An multi position rotary switch (3, 5, 10.,.. positions) have a better tactile feedback that a Encoder, test if you can wire then using the same logic (table of thrut) of an Encoder (next <> previous), this is possible using BU0836 as controller, don't know with MJoy16. http://www.737ng.co.uk/simple encoder.pdf http://www.737ng.co.uk/switch_as_encoder.pdf Edited October 4, 2020 by Sokol1

This throttle is planned JUST to the two motor aircrafts because I fly mostly junkers Ju88 A-4 (their home base Onttola Airfield is still in my home town Joensuu). This console has only one THROTTLE-lever and one RPM-lever because 99% of flying bombers you must give them the same power with those levers. if you need to decrease only one motor's (for ex. damaged) rpm or throttle you can very simply select (with the SELECT ENGINE 1 or 2 buttons) that motor and adjust levers to only that motor. After that select both engines and you can fly with the different power settings safe to your home base. I personally use those both (outlet) COWL SHUTTERS 1 and 2 for the both Ju88 engines so I can adjust them individually. They are also mapped with the Ju-52 as (inlet) COWL SHUTTERS 1 and 3 (yes, three) and the central motor inlet cowl shutter is mapped in place of the water radiator's potentiometer (because it is not needed for the planes I fly). So you can create a well-customized 2-motor aircraft's mapping with this console depending on which planes you fly. Off course you can map those both levers also as a THROTTLE 1 and THROTTLE 2 and then both of those two COWL SHUTTERS rotary pots for adjusting RPM's. Using your creativity you can fly very many different Axis or Allies two motor aircrafts with my console. My example with this mapping picture is only a very simple starting point.😄 The 30-year-old "still powerful" VOLVO and Junkers Ju 88 restored a nearly 80-year-old fragmentation shield (dugout) near the Onttola Airport in Joensuu, Finland. I have also mapped air brakes to the same bomb button because i never remember to rise them up after diving. Now, three different things happen when I push the bomb button: 1: the bombs detach, 2: the plane starts to correct the dive automatically and 3: the air brakes go up. After the bombing, I fly about one minute at emergency power with a full throttle below the tree tops out of the target area and my speed is over 750 km/h. At the same time, I reopen the cowl flaps I closed before the dive starts.

Yes of course! Updating the old consoles is possible from January-February 2021 but now we have eleven new customers queue to January 2021 who has ordered this new extended model. This new console needs a new metal case because of the different (updated) assign holes and I can soon inform the updating price in my web pages. I get those new metal cases tomorrow and after I have built and tested the first new model I add new photos and videos from it in next weekend in my webpages and also here.

Had to wait about 2 months for the manufacturing and anodizing but was delivered and fits, as do all MonsterTech gear perfectly. Suggest going on the german/english website and emailing using the contact information your special request. The "dust" in the picture is the finsh, there is a slight metalized finish to the throttle so it appears dusty, there is no Finnish or English dust on the throttle 😁

LLv44_Kanttori 482
KANTTORIN KONE Throttle Console's IL-2 GREAT BATTLES JOYSTICK GREMLIN PROFILE CODE TEXTLynchsl just wrote me that he want to share my consoles Joystick Gremlin universal profile to everybody. So I decided to share it with all current and future owners of the console here. Follow these instructions: STEP 1 First you need to download and install from my website links vJoy (virtual joystick) and then Joystick Gremlin: KANTTORIN KONE You will immediately find icons for downloading and installing programs in the right column of the page. Download and install them, please!STEP 2 When it's done check that the USB cable of the Kanttorin Kone console and the cables of all your other controllers are connected to your computer, and then save the Joystick Gremlin profile in the upper left corner: File/Save Profile as. Give the profile the name you want. STEP 3 Then open the User / Joystick Gremlin folder where you will see the profile file you just created. It has the suffix XML. Open the new profile file in Windows Notepad and look for the first line where is MJ16 as in this picture: Delete all the blue list in the example from <device........> to </device>. STEP 4 Then copy this code and replace (paste) it to the same place: IL-2 Great Battles profile code text to Kanttorin Kone Throttle Console STEP 5 Activate your profile like in this picture below and save it with a new name as you wish. Then open the game and go to Key Mapping and just map your console. NOTICE: While mapping click Joystick Gremlin Tools/Input Repeater active and then the game reads your buttons new profile very well. After mapping and before flying remember to deactivate the Input Repeater. Happy landings!

LLv44_Kanttori 482
F-16 Fighting Falcon throttle grip under process With this console, we can implement a lot of customers' special requests and customizations. We have been asked e.g. a jet fighter version with F-16 throttle handle and matching knobs as a replica. It will probably succeed and our 3D modeler Pentti Kurkinen already have ready-made scans on the F-16 fighter throttle. There are some pictures of the original F-16 throttle grip. What do you think, is it worth of making this as a high quality replika? This is Pentti's F-16 Grip 3D which he scanned from the original F-16 handle. He is printing one prototype to me and I try to find suitable 4-way switches, buttons, hats, pots and rotary encoders to it. I will tell you later how this project is progressing. I'd love to see what ever switch and lever does. Throttle Console Video Coming Soon The demo video and new product images are coming as early as next weekend when we get the first consoles of the latest Extended model ready built. We have now 12 consoles in our completion queue before Christmas and more orders for next year 2021 will come steadily all the time. Here my adult son Jonathan is building one of these newest consoles. Jonathan is a computer specialist and also an electronics enthusiast and of course a virtual pilot in the IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles game. LLv44_Kanttori 482
PICTURES OF THE 96 BUTTON and 8 AXES EXTENDED THROTTLE CONSOLE MODEL You can see more pictures and features in my KANTTORIN KONE websites. My home cockpit now, all those high quality controllers really sound together in vintage style as well. I'm really a bit old-fashioned man! From the picture below you can see new switches which are now added to the left side wall of the console. I'm using them with my Junker Ju88 A-4 and they are really useful. Leftmost is the fourth rotary encoder which is bombs delay and toggle and also bomb fuses (pushing the knob). Next there are four small On-Off-On slider switches (in two groups) where are eight different orders to "my gunners". Rightmost you can see two 4-position rotary switches where are becoming soon different fuel tanks (cocks) as has been in the Cliffs of Dover simulator for a long time now. LLv44_Kanttori 482
A LOOK INSIDE THE CONSOLE Here you can see the quality of the handmade work inside the console. My adult boy Jonathan is a far better electronics enthusiast than me and and he does a really accurate and quality job when soldering components. Jonathan takes at least one 10-hour day to assemble all the components inside the console carefully and with time. He has also brought a lot of useful ideas with which we improve the quality of work and partly at the same time speed up the assembly. The most important thing, however, is that we make high-quality Finnish handicrafts, the design and quality of which we can be proud of: Made in Finland - Suomi, sauna and Sibelius! LLv44_Kanttori 482
64 button and 8 axes JABO THROTTLE CONSOLE Now I have time to plan new console models and that's the first one: universal jabo console which is a much cheaper model from the current "extended console" above. Jabo console is a 64 button and 8 axes model which don't need Joystick Gremlin in any flight simulator or game just plug it, map it and fly with it! We just calculated how many working hours this need + components, industrial laser cutted and bended metal case costs. It looks very much similar and uses the same components than it's "big brother". I added there a small slider type RPM adjusting which is not as strikingly large when flying Focke Wulf A-5 or F-8 jabos where it is not needed (you can map there something else). On the other hand, RPM adjustment is required on other attackers and dive bombers as Stuka or IL-2 Sturmovik or British / American jabos as Thunderbolt and Tempest. Everything what you need is there whether you fly Jabos of Axis powers or Allied ground attack planes. this is a real universal JABO model! Price 395,00 EUR (470 USD) + shipping Edited November 21, 2020 by LLv44_Kanttori
LLv44_Kanttori 482
Here are our new advertisements for the both consoles. What do you think, would a small budget-class fighter model still have an order in the future, for example at a price of 195 euros? A model with 32 buttons and, say, four shafts: gas and rpm shafts and 4 shafts for oil and water radiators, mixture and elevator trim. Pictures below shows our updated new console models to the attack fighters (jabos) and two motor bombers (click the headings for better plan without those ad texts). BOMBER CONSOLE The biggest Bomber Console has 96 buttons, 8 analog axes and 4 rotary encoders and it has almost exactly the same case than the older model. New switches and buttons have been added to the left side wall (upper side in the picture): two 4-position rotary switches, four on-off-on slider switches (for ex. orders to gunners) and rotary encoders for the special bomber functions. Those four rotaries has now added button function when pushing them (fo ex. reset trims or activating bomb fuses). JABO CONSOLE The new jabo Console has 64 buttons and 8 axis to the pilots who are flying mostly fighters and ground attackers. It has the main functions required for Axis and Allies aircraft for flying, ground attacking, armament and engine control. These both new Console models are introduced in more details during December 2020 with the pictures and videos. Edited November 24, 2020 by LLv44_Kanttori 1
LLv44_Kanttori 482
NEW COMPACT WWII JABO CONSOLE Pictured is the unpainted case and prototype of the new Jabo Console I piled up over the weekend to see that all the switches and components fit inside. Well fit. The throttle lever mechanism in this prototype is from another bomb model but the Jabo console comes with a new GVL double mechanics of the second image below, which also has a low small RPM lever suitable for that narrower groove in the middle. The Ukrainian GVL made this mechanics specifically for this model as custom work. I wanted the console to be as narrow as possible and this is now 12cm wide and 32cm long. With the bottom plate it has 12 cm x 36 cm dimensions. The console has 8 axes and 60 button functions on versatile switches. The laser-cut and mechanically edged new Jabo metal cases will be coming out of the paint shop soon and have a slightly different center opening covered with a small deck so that the entire mechanics fit properly inside the enclosure. When the small cover plates are removed, the levers can be adjusted e.g. friction and do small cleaning and maintenance tasks. BUILDING KIT - INTERESTING? I could also make a construction kit from this, where the same package includes everything you need, ie a housing, a MJ16 circuit board, double handle mechanics and switches/buttons/knobs, and a color-coded flat cable. Would there be a demand if the price for such a building kit were about € 295? Pre-assembled, this now costs € 395. It takes a couple of working days to connect the console when you do the job carefully in complete peace of mind. Is it pretty sexy or what do you think? kestrel79 256
This thing looks awesome. Every button you need for IL2 wow! Maybe if I get around to building my wooden platform to put my Obutto cockpit on I'll pick one of these up. For now I'll stick with my Warthog and CH Quad
