I'm flying the P-47 exclusively lately, in career, so that's why these will all look pretty similar. I also can't touch 109s unless they're busy attacking my wingmen. By contrast, I can tackle 190s solo.

This last kill is pretty funny to me. I was going too fast, and had a limited amount of time to aim. I lined up one wing to hit his fuselage, knowing the other wing would totally miss him. I wasn't expecting the explosion from such a short burst. The debris bent my prop, but I glided back to friendly territory.

Sometimes the P-47 can be pretty damn sexy. This is one such time:

Needless to say, the above skin is by far my favorite of the defaults available. I don't like white and black invasion stripes, but just black works with the bare metal. The tail's also great.

Galland with escort on inspection flight

2021_3_8__15_45_19.thumb.jpg.bd34c5c67dde5b9d00c56c56a23b271e.jpg

Galland was an Me109 man for most of the war scoring 97 victories in that type and 7 in the Me262.

Officially, he never flew the Fw190 in combat, so yeah, the log book probably stated 'inspection flight'!

From Wikipedia:

Unofficial combat missions

Unofficial combat missions
After his appointment, Galland was strictly confined to operational matters and not allowed to fly tactical or combat missions. As the war continued Galland flew missions in violation of these restrictions against the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) bombing raids during the Defence of the Reich. Galland was keen to familiarise himself with all types of German fighter aircraft and flew the Fw 190 on these interception missions. He actively engaged American bombers on some raids. On at least one mission, he shot down a USAAF heavy bomber. It is possible that as many as three USAAF heavy bombers were shot down by Galland while he was flying Fw 190s.

Day after day those bastards just kept coming! Just when we thought we had the Luftwaffe on the ropes those damn 262s would push over and attack our Aerodrome again and again, but revenge is a meal best served warm.

bYHw8U0.jpg

Not 30 minutes before the chaps and I were ducking for cover, but the Boss had now given us fresh Intel from the underground as to the whereabouts of the Aerodrome which the Huns were operating from.

p7QVWWT.jpg

"Time to pay a visit to our Jerry brethren", he said, as he sent us off!

LswZTPJ.png

We had just the weapon to return the favor for the bother those Huns had caused us!

Our Tempests were famished for some Jerry Swallows.

fIbBDl7.png

We need only look around as we rose from the airfield to observe the destruction inflicted by our foes just a short time ago.

The motivation was crystal clear.

StHutaq.png

A mere 30 minutes later I was sighting in one of the Huns just as they were spooling up two of their 262s. Their nav lights were burning so I was quite aware that Jerry was most positively beginning another mission to deliver us some cookies.

I began my run in while the boys kept the Krauts on the Ack Ack busy.

0RLmJgu.jpg

My initial rounds were a wee bit long, but I walked them back a might until I was bidding this Hun pilot a fair adieu'!

I observed him frantically working to roust his bird to life.

2TVKF6t.png

My rounds were true to the mark now as the Swallow began to raise off the ground when the Mark II 20 mm Hispano Cannon's found their measure!

CPnBO7M.png

This Jerry's end had come as I overflew the Aerodrome. The ack ack was thick as I hastened my escape.

moMRxXs.png

The Boss had only given his blessing for one pass, and off we sped hurriedly making our retreat.

Only minutes later we were lining up to pancake.

0EdzKTE.png

Triumphantly we returned to our field now knowing with all certainty where Jerry was attacking from.

YOPXrmU.png

Safely down, it was a quick word with the Boss and then off to the Officers club to let the rest of the boys know of the events which had just unfolded. There was little doubt in my mind that the Boss would send us back later, better equipped, to put that Hun Aerodrome out of commission for good, but that tale will be for a another time.

My first submitted screenshot of this amazing game.  What editing programs do you all use to make yours so nice?

Well if you make a recording you can always look back at it. And by using ext. view, different angles, diff. play speed/pause, mouse movement,

zoom a bit in or out you will see some nice screens come along 😀

Welcome to the Forum jamesirjames. That is a very nice introductory screenshot Sir!

I am no expert but personally I believe that the picture quality is determined by how good the quality of the Monitor that you use is. More precisely, how many Pixels Per Inch your monitor displays and what resolution you use in game. I use 2560x1440 for all of my gaming and I own a  high quality 27" Asus monitor and more recently I have added a 32" Samsung G7 Monitor, and I am overly pleased with each and their respective performance. As far as in game adjustments, you can crank up the eye candy to Ultra in mission, ignore the frame rates and just record for a later picture taking review of the recording, or use the best settings you can in mission, record, and then crank up the eye candy to Ultra for your picture taking review of the recording. YMMV, you just have to find what works best for your situation, the first method being my preferred procedure to get the best quality pictures. I use Infranview as my photo editor although it offers very little in the way of 'Photoshopping' of images per say. I am sure Photoshop or even Gimp are much better but I have never wanted to pay for Photoshop nor take the time to learn the intricacies of either one. On very rare occasions I use the 'sharpen' button in Infranview(I used it in 2 out of the series of pictures above. Can you tell which ones?), but mostly I only crop, boarder and save to PNG format with it. I do use the 'color corrections' option sometimes, but I am simply raising or lowering the 'gama level' in the screenshot. PNG is the best quality, most practical size wise(bmp is better but huge in size), format to use for screenshots. LukeFF will hate me for saying that as the PNG format does slow down picture loading on most smart phones, sometimes to a crawl, and he dislikes that, which I can understand. Sorry LukeFF, the secret is out and it is what it is.:P The one tip I can recommend in game or in a recorded replay is to pause the action push F2 and then to push the F11 view. It is very sensitive and almost impossible to use unless you 'HOLD' the numpad '0' key down and use your mouse to maneuver around. Combining the  F11 view with holding the '0' key down and scrolling with the mouse or pushing and holding either the left or right mouse button while scrolling the mouse will let you move along all axis to get the angle you want and take the pics you want. I used to use the Post Process before Reshade in ROF and CLOD, I can't even recall its' name anymore, but I no longer use any post processing unless Nvidia or the game which I am using has it incorporated. The two reasons I don't use PP anymore are, 1. todays sims look so good they don't need it IMHO and 2. You can drive yourself crazy with the endless adjustments that Reshade provides, and life is to short for this as I am getting older. I have nothing against Reshade, Photoshop or anything anyone else does to present nice pictures here and in other Forums, but for me, 'Keep It Simple Stupid' is my motto so that I spend more of the time available to me actually in the sim playing and not fiddling so much. That is my 2 cents worth and I look forward to seeing your next pics here in this thread.

Love your pics, man!  Okay, I'll have to check out Infranview.  I do have a decent PC (RTX 2070), Gsync 1440k monitor as well.  Thanks for the long explanation.  Cheers
