@II/JG17_HerrMurf   Best meme ever, and yes we are enjoying our day for the most part. My family were loyalists but finally came back to the US after the war of 1812, Canada just wasn't the place to be I guess. Maine isn't too nice today either, we rarely get over 80F and it's something like 95F today and 90% humidity.

Had a couple of P-51s and T-6s fly over our house while I was swimming in the pool today. Made for a nice little mini airshow. :)

Let me tell you a  true story....  Etherlight sees this as well he'll get a kick out of it. That Saurkraut.

When I was living in Las Vegas I dated this German who played basketball for UNLV,, our first date was at the Bellagio, the casino with the water show. It just so happened on that moment they played This SONG and I was so pumped, I was rocking on, but on our first date on that New Years Eve day she was confused and asked, "Why do Americans have so much pride?", I told her, "You wouldn't understand, you're not American."

 

I'm now single.

Our Russian friends should be pleased that we have appropriated Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture to our patriotic music for fireworks displays.

Complete with carillon and cannons !!!

Well England seizing our merchant ships, invading our country and burning the White House may have had something to do with us being cozy with the French at the time.

That part of our national anthem that goes "Oh say can you see by the dawn's first light does our flag still wave even after the Brits have been bombarding the f*cking city for a month?" or something like that.
