DD_fruitbat 467
Just bought the Dora recently, although haven't flown it much yet. As much as i like Anton's (would love an A2/A3, one can only dream) can't justify to myself why i'd get the A8 when already having a D9 Edited April 18, 2020 by DD_fruitbat

But I like the A8, so I would have bought it anyway. The exterior is nice, but i have to say. The A8 has the worst interior in all the DCS. It's made after the same mashed together A8 example they have at Monino, and just like Oleg before, the messed up this one too. Bad textures and pretty bad bad 3d interior. Performance is pretty bad as well, since it's a very early A8 model. Edited April 18, 2020 by Jaws2002
Bremspropeller 2329
Nevermind the SRS box in the top left corner (there's a way to make it go away, but I forgot how). I'm currently building a training mission for the Viper out of Bandar Abbas, which is in Iran. There needs to be some alternative background-history... Turning finals. I chose Bandar for mainly two reasons: 1) It has an ILS (well, if I figure out how to activate those in the mission-builder). It sends at an obscure 333.80 MHz though. What's that? 2) I love those hangars.

Bremspropeller 2329
After spending half of yeasterday, testing a mission, reworking it, testing it again, etc. Here are some of the lighter-hearted moments: Am I some kind of joke to you, Carl? Silkworms provide some social distancing from those yachts. Modern problems require modern solutions. Yussouf wondered why he was supposed to drive his Scud-B right to the beach, but he had learnt that good soldiers don't doubt their superiors' judgement during his time in boot-camp... Two Mi-24s hinding their own business. Nobody had told Lin that his helicopter was supposed to look unconspicious outside red China... Yewgeni had alway been known to have a weak bladder. Drinking a Vodka Venti at Czarbucks right before take-off didn't do anything to relief any pre-mission pressure. "I don't know skipper, the EGT on No. 1 looks a bit high to me..."
Bremspropeller 2329
And now for something completely different. "Taming the Tupe" Just got this Tu-154M for X-Plane and decided to take it for a first spin. It is...positively agricultural and it feels more like flying a steamer than flying an airplane, but it's a nice challenge nonetheless! Descending into Victoria, BC after a brief hop over from Tofino. 11+02 was one of two Tupolevs taken over from the East German air force to the unified Luftwaffe. It was converted to an "Open Skies" surveillance airplane and it was sadly lost with all hands off the coast of Namibia on 13 September 1997 in a mid-air collision with a USAF C-141. The landing-gear kinematics on the Tushka are very cool - folding those gigantic three-axle bogies out of the shock-bodies on the wings. Throwing the reverser-buckets at low altitude seems to be normal ops with soviet airliners. Otherwise she'll float down the runway forever... So similar, yet so different. The 727 seems to have the complexity of a moped/ tuk-tuk, when compared to the 154. The 154 is more capable in terms of payload-range, but the 727 is the more advanced (automated) aircraft, requiring one less crew-member on the flight-deck. Off to the bar, while the aircraft is serviced...

It's still in an unfinished state but so far it's far far superior in regards to flight model. It retains its speed very well even when maneuvering a bit and can maneuver at high speeds without locking up so much like the Il2 version. In DCS it's much much better at BnZ attacks because it can retain it's energy from a dive and can maneuver at high speeds, this enables it to pull lead and zoom back up after the pass, something which is much more difficult to do in Il2. At low altitudes I don't feel as vulnerable as I do in Il2, I feel like I can still put up a fight if I fly smart, I also never need flaps even down low unlike in Il2. Overall it's a far better representation of the Jug imo, much closer to what I've read from pilot accounts. No disrespect to the Il2 devs, all the other aircraft in Il2 are excellent, I just think the Jug needs alot of work in Il2. I might end up making a side by side comparison video to show the differences of each, just gotta figure out how to do it (don't really know anything about video editing) Edited June 4, 2020 by Legioneod

I watched some videos of the Idaho DLC for ATS and the scenery is beautiful. The attention to detail is amazing. All these different houses and other objects, the oncoming traffic, animated figures, animated horses in the fields, even happened to see parasailers in the air. You name it, it's all there. Must be a relaxing excperience to cross the state from A to B to deliver your freight in ATS.
