I know that ;). I was despit see u can follow me even i've got many energy. I don't know manage the P40. Someone else would probably be able attack one of you. I prefered jump before be shot done. Not very courageous, i admit.

And for finish, i prefere fly against squads like ures, than lonelywolf who just want the kill for the kill, and don't care lose the plane and the pilot.

Hi Coconut...

A friend and I just tried our first sorties as new members of LF6\SG77.

We began our flights at around 3:30PM EST.

The server throughout all of our sorties was quite erratic with warping and stuttering at points during the flight.  The server crashed at one point while at other times booted pilots from their aircraft and prevented others from joining the server.

Admittedly the server was maxed at some points  but I have flown on heavily populated servers before without such problems.

In my experience as a software engineer, the first thing we would look at is the amount of RAM applied to the machine.  However, BoX simulations are still being run under the x86 format, meaning that only 4gigs of RAM are available for such applications.  Thus, I would imagine then that something has to be corrected in the configuration support files or there may be a networking issue with the hosting service you are using to support these servers.

Well that is good to know.  However, it still installs in Program Files (x86) unless that is a mistake of the installer.

If that is the case than the Coconut server could be having memory issues...

Took me a while to find the standard system requirements for BoX simulations...

  • OS: 64-bit Windows® 7 (SP1) / Windows® 8 / Windows® 10
  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i5/i7 2.8 ГГц
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 660/Radeon HD 7770 with 2GB VRAM or better
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • RAM: 4 Gb+
  • Sound Card: DirectX®-compatible
  • Storage space: 10 Gb+
  • Internet connection: 256Kb/s for single-player campaign, 1Mb/s and faster for multi-player
  • DirectX® compatible flight stick is recommended

Since the Coconut server would be running through the DServe application, there is no need to consider graphic requirements.

However, if it is running on an Intel I5 processor that could be an issue because anything less than an I7 is going to have questionable performance if it is going to be used as a server.

The minimum recommendation for RAM is 4gigs.  This is really no good for most 64bit machines today as workstations should have as a minimum 8gigs, while servers, 16gigs.

cercataa, are you aware that what is on a map depends on what happened before, that this is an ongoing campaign?

In the previos map we had conquered Mozhaisk, and then it was under the Control of the axis, so the campaign it's not so dynamic ...

I'm not complaining about it, I'm just saying that was not the case.

But Cercataa is one of the goals of the game. It's a collaborative game, like a coop. If a base is in deficit, fuel or bombs, pilots must collaborate to resupply. If nobody does that, we lose the base faster and we can not take off from this base.

I'm not talking about that, that happened in the previous map, and that was cool ... I'm talking about just after the map change, very weird distibution, too many airports, and Neither of them with everything.

For me It's ok to resupply, but having to make the initial supply it's way too much.

Resupplying when there are enemy planes in you area is a challenge, but when there is a fresh new map and the enemy is not normally beyond the front line, is boring ...

Anyway, the answer is yes, I've read the manual, and more things, like this explanation about the luxury points that is not fully explained in the manual:

Servers are up again. Now hosted in Germany, maybe that will solve some of the disconnection issues some have been having, but I doubt it.

The hardware is no longer overclocked, a little bit slower, but also cheaper.

  • Thanks 3

Something unusual is going on, there are 6 blue and 2 red players and all blue airfields are maxed out, can't click any of them?

For the rest of people who are wondering what this is about, here is my log of the flight in question -- http://coconutside.eu:8080/en/sortie/log/77688/?tour=7

There was a multiple fighters fight over enemy AF Kalach (which was already disabled with AA down) and I went to help my team mates. I got few hits on Razor who ran away with only minor damage (I didn't chase him). I made few turns to check that there are no more of his mates around and then I saw a plane attempting to land on the Kalach AF, which I firstly thought must be AI transport. I proceeded to take it out and arrived just in time when it nearly stopped rolling. Turned out it was the same pilot, Razor who probably thought he had miraculously saved his plane by landing on a AF under attack...

After the rude interruption of his plan, he proceeded to insult me for the rest of the mission on the game chat (in violation of the Coconut Server Rules) and become so annoying that other players started to ask what was that all about.

Just a reminder, vulching on Coconut is allowed, there are other servers (like KOTA) that have a rule against it so you're free to fly there if that is important for you.

But on the first page of this forum topic Coco stated the following rule:

"There is only rule that will get you banned if you break it: be well-behaved and respectful of other players on the server."

Not to take any sides with you gentlemen but just voicing my own observation; I have flown quite a lot at the same time on the server with Optic (not with him on the radio ) sometimes escorting his bomber or transport and I certainly haven't seen him practising any stalking or vulching of landing planes. I would hate to see anyone labeled by one incident, especially one which is in the rulebook.

Razor ( and apparently Oscar too ) on the other hand seems to be flying like a knight, who has great respect for enemy pilots life and is willing to offer fair terms before the shooting starts...and I get it, if I would be flying with such honourable way, I would be p****d too if somebody nails me on the runway, without giving me a fair chance to fight back.

But guys, you both are regular Coconauts on the server, please do not make this any bigger than it really is. You have heard each others opinion; one was flying by the rules and one felt he was not given chance to fight back. Agree that you disagree, we all think differently but still we have to get along :friends:

Edit: and if you two don't make up, you gonna be sitting in my HE-111 as gunners and listening me singing Elvis songs in Finnish the whole weekend. And I'm gonna be drunk. And naked. :yahoo:

Coconuts Server is known for its gentlemen pilots, helping each other out and to salut the opponent!

As one CAS pilot, very often get shot down in many ways, I can really feel with the landing pilot.

Still it is allowed and also in historic context, as back than, surprise was a big comfort in combat and still is today.

Lets have fun together and sleep a night over it (as we said in the military if we faced intern trouble), tomorrow the world looks nicer

and we all recognize each other as part of the weekend-air-warrior party, which will have a good time together.

S!

An IA at landing put his lights on usually. No?

Without anymore ammo and two kills, Razor decided to land his plane. As the last bandit seemed to going away through the clouds.

But finally he came back to straffed him and unfortunaly (for Razor) killed the pilot just before his plane stop. Very close, I could just inform him when I have seen the fighter but it was too late.

I can understand his reaction but we are ok with you. It was not really appropriate due the frustration to die like that.

Usually NN guys never do this kind of action against a right human fighter or even a black smoking plane. It is in our rules and useless. (Regarding quantity of ammo in a yak1 and our  code of honour)

This explains that even if it does not excuse anything.

See you in flight

Usually when someone is unable to continue to fight, he bails or ditches his plane. Attempting to run away and make a landing on an undefended AF with 3 enemy fighters circling above it is a very risky move and in this case the pilot in question gambled and lost both his plane and his virtual life. A man is free to take risks, but also has to face the consequences of his actions  when he fails. To blame others for own mistakes is to lie both to yourself and others. I don't know what is your Code of Honor that you mentioned few times, but isn't Truth a part of it?

Tiny correction, since KOTA switched off GPS at all times and not just the weekends, vulching is no longer forbidden.

This was a little different, there were four of us and we all got disconnected. Probably something to do with Coconut moving the server.

I've rarely had an issue with disconnects in this game. I had one on Coconuts server a couple of weeks back which I attributed to my internet connection, but now I've just had two in a row before I could even get off the taxiway.

Personally I don't remember last time I had a disconnect, but it's true I haven't spent much time online this last month. It seems people playing on other servers are complaining too. In any case, I moved the server from Strasbourg to Frankfurt. If you are still having problem then all I can say is that's unfortunate, but I'm not going to try a new server every month. Moving the stuff takes time.

Of course, that's understandable. Well, as I said I seemed to have fixed my issue last night by lowering the MTU a little.

Thank you Leifr. I have lowered my MTU and put in the number you suggest...….so I'll give that a try.

Personally, I think it's to do with the main server......after the last update
