Mapping in Trackhat

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow Aces,

I'm asking people who use Trackhat and therefor Opentrack as well. What mapping do you use? Like how many degrees for a 180° turn, deadzones, slow starting curves, stuff like this.

I'm tuning mine at the moment and want to get the smoothest movement as possible.

Thank you

May vary depending on distance and offset. Mine is at 130 cm apart and some 40 cm higher. No guarantee that my settings make any sense for you.

Accela:

Smoothing: 30 ms

Rotation filtering: 1.8°

Position filtering: 0.5 mm

Yaw: 24 at 180, starting curve ends at 7x22.5

Pitch: 30 at 180, curve end at 8x2.5 (upper), 22 at 140, curve ends 5x17.5 (lower)

Roll: 180 at 160, fully linear without curve

X: 11 at 48, curve ends at 2x6

Y: 9.5 at 43, curve ends at 1x2 (upper), 5.5 at 75, curve ends at 1x5

Z: 8.5 at 75, curve ends at 0.5x0

I suggest play with Yaw and Pitch first, switching off Roll, X, Y, and Z tracking completely (flat curve). Once you're sort of happy with the result, you can add these ones one by one.

Here is a small pdf file showing my mappings, and accela, settings for OT. I was trying to avoid posting seven separate images, so I combined them in the pdf.
