Dear 777/1C, please release ROF Skinpack 19!

Recommended Posts

Dear 777/1C Studios,

This letter is to humbly ask your team to release the Rise of Flight historical/fictional skinpack #19. The skinpack represents hundreds of hours of work on the part of the community, and has some simply beautiful skins (such as the ones shown below) that will never see the light of day if not released. We have been waiting for almost a year now.

I realize that putting the skinpack together takes time. I also admit that I do not know how much work it is for your team to compile and release it. However, I do know one thing: time is worth money, especially when we are talking about a small team on a tight budget and even tighter schedule. If you would release the skinpack, I would be willing to support you by spending $50 on gift planes from ROF/BOS to give to new users. I think others from the ROF community would be willing to chip in and make gift purchases as well. That way we could offer you a small recompense for the work required to compile the pack while simultaneously giving the gift of flight to several simmers - maybe even whet the appetites of some to make future purchases from 777/1C!

Please consider this request, that's all I ask. :)

Salute!

- HotleadColdfeet

As I noted on the RoF forums, I'd be willing to gift some planes to new players as well if the new skin packs would be released.  I'd also be willing to put in the time to update/rebuild the skin pack volumes to include the skins that have been submitted since I submitted the packs for Volume 19, if the devs would commit to actually release it and give me enough notice to give me time to do that.  I know that further development of RoF is on the back burner (if not off the stove entirely) at this point and will be for the foreseeable future, but it is a shame that all that good work is just lying dormant at this point and has been for so long.

Maybe it would be easier to pay a Dev to do it on their off time? :)

Bribery?

+ 1 for the skin pack

I would say even more:

Improve the graphics engine to the standard of BOS with 64 bits, DX 11, etc ...

This will only be possible, if they can be sure, it sells. They will soon see, wether they get new VR customers. If you see, how incredibly bad the "flight experience" games in the Rift Store are, this could be possible, one should think. But I have no idea, what is necessary, to get into that store. Quality is definitly no criteria ;)

PS: RoF would even work better for VR, as the fights are much closer. The resolution wouldnt matter so much.

Bribery?

Sure.

Crowdfund it. :)

I'll pledge $100 straight into the pocket of a Dev who does this on their spare time...If I can piggyback my own skin in there of course.

If they brought the thing to DX11, I'd buy it again. (I bought the "Iron Cross" edition back then)

Improving ROF graphical engine (64-bit and DX 11) would benefit from the VR and surely revive the interest of the game to the players and new players... ;)

I would pay for this too, maybe, as suggested someone could do this in their downtime and earn some extra cash.

Please think about it guys?

I used REAL reference photos to make her. Not any of that online color profile stuff.

Dazzle pattern... good job!

If only they'd only add it to the pack so I could use it in multiplayer.  :(
