Battle of Hamburg
Posted 12 October 2016 - 10:14
Hamburg seems like a good idea, with jets, British, Americans and Germans, and with a low altitude air war.
Posted 31 October 2016 - 17:07
no, Hamburg is perfect and this line-up does have all important and legendary planes

"Battle of OkinawaBattle of ??????"if they already reach abril 1945, i have an idea: next can be Battle of Hamburg or something like that...: low altitude western front dogfights!keeping some england for b17/b25 missions. and futures plane like bf109G14AS/ ME410/ME163 for destroyer missions.

Guys, i think you are running, to talk now about any BO/1945 is to go so fast, and even more mentioning jets when the last release is about 1941, and working now in 1943.
With my respect for you Bf109zakkandrachof (omg lol) ad the other guys.
They presented two scenarios in Pacific after BOK
So, i think (my opinion):
-After Pacific, the next most be a
1944 Battle, (Normandy BON could be.
1945 (The ending in Germany, Berlin BOB could be.

I thought you meant the night battle of Hamburg! Never been done and would add new layers like EW, but maybe not a crowd pleaser.
Posted 25 November 2016 - 02:11
NO duckman: no night, and migsu what the hell is the problem with my name user?
This is Accurate battle with accurate fighters!!!no Bombers LOL
Place: NorthWest Germany, East Holland and Belgium
The Planes in the following list are accurate in this place in the current time.
this are daylight missions, no nightmissions.
Gloster Meteor operate before war end from airfields in Holland And Belgium, painted in White. Their airbase was attacked by Arado 234 jet bombers in one opportunity.
The objective of this map is flying the HE162A2 in the airbases that this jet fighter true operate, that are in east and North of Hamburg, ok?
NO BERLIN, NO ALPS, OK? and this is pure Germany Vs. England, i put some USAAF fighters because their lost some planes in the area of Hannover.
and because one wish of Oleg MAddox in the development of Storm Of War, that i rememeber, was that someone start the make up of the model of the volksjäger.

I saw Fw-190D-9 as standard and He-162A-1 as 'Collector'.

SPEKTRE , yes, maybe, but He162A-1 was a little dangerous: take off and in the maneuvers ( because mk108 was to heavy) and maybe nobody gonna buy it. People prefear He162A-2 with 20mm cannons, making more lighter in the flight, and making the sim more historically correct.

actually, the Do-335 enter production and 37 or so production model aircraft were built and used in defending the factory. but since it's another seperate plane, similar to the Ju-52 i think it's something unique and interesting.

The Do-335 is indeed an interesting aircraft, and in the flesh it is wonderful, if you get a chance, spend some time at the Washington museum and have a look
however to include it would be controversial in many ways unless a full '1946' what if scenario is considered
although some 37 were constructed, these were far from production models, there were many unresolved issues, amongst others rear engine overheating and poor handling when cowls open to cool it
The only reported combat (I believe) was when one was shot down during transit flight when suffering from these issues (from German reports)
Only a handful were actually flown (if ever in combat defending the factory) and for a very short time period
R/L data is sketchy and with many versions and configurations would be very contradictory, to model accurately would be a huge research job which could be better spent elsewhere, and the end result would be mainly based on what if's and assumptions
Love the aircraft but there are probably better choices, even as a 'bonus' aircraft unless you are proposing 1946 stylee
As conjecture for a BoH it is all interesting fun

An interesting idea. It could come after the pacific theatre has had their fair share of maps.

ok. fixing the plane list. Only RAF. No Americans. (repeating: only reason for all of this is He162A-2)
ME262 is out. you can propose a map of the Alps, north italy, and Bayern, and add the ME262 and Bf109G-14AS
then, in IL-2 Battle of the Bulge, you can ad the missing planes that will not be in okinawa, like P-51D, P47D late, typhoonB, spitfire IX, Bf109G-14, etc.
Then, in IL-2 Operation Pointblank, (1943) (adding norfolk and suffolk for allied bombers bases in the uk and the map till middle germany): you can ad the Bf109G-6 (with Werfer-Granate 21), FW190A-6 or A7, Ju88C, B-17F, B24, P47D early,P-38F. (Bf110G-2 will be the same than Kuban except adding (with Werfer-Granate 21).
Then, Il-2 Operation Steinbock, or BabyBlitz,(winter map, and them, spring summer map for Battle of Normandy), with He177, Ju 188E-1, Do 217, Me 410 Hornisse, Mosquito Mk II, early typhoon, then: Lancaster, Lincoln, mosquito Mk VI, Bf110G-4, Do217J, Ju88G.
ok, would go on with maps and planes, but my brain will explode.

The Me-262 and the He-162 both need to be limited sale, like 100 copies only. Or else they will be spammed all over the skies.
People said the same when Il-2 Cliffs of dover was in development. "not fair: Spitfire quantity must be limited from factory for the servers or they will shot every German in the air". things go to the other way.

Can we have at least one Merlin-Spitfire? LF Mk.IX or something.
And why not a 109G-14?
Go on, get out! Last words are for fools who haven't said enough! (Last Words of Karl Marx)

No Spitfire IXLF, no Typhoon... those were the backbone of the RAF 2nd TAF and they are missing, yet ultra rare XIVe is there. Could be a fine collectors plane though. And why there is a Volksjeager instead of a proper Me 262?

Just a little note on the (misleading) title of the thread - imho with "Battle of Hamburg" most people have in mind this major operation:
Compared to that remarkable air battle the ground operations in 1945 were not that important:
Anyhow, choosing a huge urban area as the main theatre is calling for the limits of the BoX-simulator-engine, even Moscow remained in the background. My suggestion would point on this really important operation:
Nearly the same setup of troops & planes taking part, smaller cities well suited for the BoX-engine and lot's of water, too.
A note on the suggested plane setup. The Luftwaffe needs a mud-mover for balanced gameplay, too - that's the late Fw-190-F-models in 1945. There are two high altitude fighters, the Me-109 G-10 and K-4, one of them could be dropped.
I very much like the idea in general, just my 2 ct.
"Those admiring my 275 shoot-downs know nothing about war. They do not know what it implies for a whole live to kill in young years just not to be killed. They do not know the shame and the sorrow. War is not the continuation of politics by other means. It is an infamy. It is the total bankruptcy of political operations. With my generation fading away in some capitals of the world this insight seems to fade away, too." (Günther Rall)
