In order to work on both, the PC and console, they have to put a lot of  limits on the game engine , so a  specific model of  console can handle it.

Sure, the pc version may be a bit more refined, but a lot of parts of the game are going to be limited to what this generation of Xbox can do.

It will also be released for Windows. And I'm trying to find where I read it, but it will be a flight simulator, like FSX not a "flying game." It looks terrific. I'm watching this. I have X-Plane 11, but it's not grabbing me the way FSX did. I'm not not enjoying it as much. I'm not even sure why, cause it's not that bad. It's jus not...fun. I don't know how else to explain it.

I know it's going to have a windows version, but if it's made for both, they'll have to limit the engine to the power of xbox.

And just because the trailer looks great means absolutely nothing.

Microsoft likes to do this kind of trailers. I still remember fsx trailer vs the real fsx, when it was launched.

Anyway. I don't have time for the sims i have. I'll most likely sit this one out.

Like so many things, I think you get out of DCS what you're willing to put into it.  A lot of things in DCS opened up for me when I decided to take it online and start learning from the community...it gave me a whole new sylabus of skills to learn and practice, and seeing just how skilled and knowledgeable some of the other people who play it has raised the bar for me on what I want to be able to do with my planes.  That leads to a whole lot of hours of tasks to work on, many of which are routine, but nonetheless challenging, and therefore worthwhile.   Most people would be bored I suppose...I can't tell you how many hours I've spent just hooking up to a KC-135, until it becomes natural, or doing traps in carriers, or slinging loads in helicopters simply from point A to point B, etc.  Some things have been pretty darned humbling, but in a postive way, because I'll see somebody else doing some challenging task as if it's 'nuthin, and then I'll try it, and I'm all over the place, and so then I'm motivated to get to work on it until I can perform like that too.

Yeah you're right about that although unfortunately I myself rather ironically like DCS because it enables me to play more casually as oppose to flying long missions which I don't really have the time for.

But to get really good at flying, as with driving a car, you've got to learn from the ground up and it isn't all just about combat.

Same with racing sims, I suck at them cause rather than driving sensibly around the track, and slowly building up my ability as I do in real life with a real car, I try to win the race, which is simply beyond my ability!

So lately I don't even try to compete just enjoy the driving!

The amount of experienced mp players and the ease they blast my lumbering slow moving favorite  aircraft. I simply do not go mp.

Same story in GB really.

I have no time for organized flying and pay a heavy price.

I think this is why I like the learning in DCS so much. It give me a task I actually can do without interuption

Can't wait to be sitting in that cockpit and fly early in the misty morning in the countryside.

I like the look of the Mig 25, always did

Hopefully we will start to get more soviet planes... Razbam seems interested in them, especially after the released MiG-19P and the future MiG-23MLA

Omg!

What is that? Is this just a mod or an upcoming official add-on?

I'd love to fly a well modeled mig 25.

@Jaws2002

@LuseKofte is a little incorrect: that MiG-25 is from a recently announced mod, not a Razbam teaser 🙄

Only upcoming MiG from Razbam so far announced is the MiG-23MLA

First attempt with a MI 8 on a cruiser, long over due in bad weather.

What buggs me with bad weather is the ground handeling and wind. No sim can do that right, I also wish for a more physically felt wind while flying.

I am pretty satisfied of physics while flying choppersin DCS, but it is ab bit off when weather is bad

Yes as usual the trailers are just great, almost true to life and very impressive... still won't buy it though, although there will be many who are creaming their pants over it right now!   :)

I would prefer to see the Hornet completed first.  Still lots of things to be implemented in that one before I'm going to consider buying the next new and shiny thing.

Yeah, but if they did business that way they’d still be stuck on the Flanker.

Really enjoyed your vid. You made landing on that ship look easy.

That is a big old bird you are flying there. Is it possible to try to do the same mission with the gazelle to see how that feels in comparison ? I think it should be more in line with what you expect

Quite possible.

I got maxflightstick controls they are really good in all other things but Gazelle. The stick movement moves to much at the time in Gazelle. I will try fiddeling with sensitivity

That didn’t stop you from buying the F-14.  Watch the trailer a few more times and you will buy it.  If you haven’t already...

They still havent fixed the P-51 fuel selector which makes half of the fuel tanks, including external drop tanks, completely useless.

I like the DCS P51 but there will be zero dollars spent on them until they start fixing very obvious bugs.

I havent flown it enough or learnt it enough to be able to know this.

I take your word for it and can only agree.

In my mind the P 51 might very well be the best module I flown.

I talked in TS with a guy that have som hours in the backseat of a dualcontrol P 51 in US.

He had the pilot flying DCS module for a considerable time.

And  as suspected it was not correct in ground handling , but that could be the lousy wind simulation. Well in short there was. Something wrong in all aspects, but at the same time he was positive in all the same aspects and pretty impressed by how its modeled.

I guess he is a air show pilot but I forgot to ask

The real thing is super sensitive though, I had hands on in the hover in the late 80's and it was the hardest thing I ever tried. You really do need micro movements. small inputs lead to pilot induced oscillations.

I did ok though, well enough that the RQHI was happy enough to remove his hands from the controls and wave at his fellow pilots on the ground.

Edit quoted wrong post lol this was meant for @LuseKofte

There is a new Bf109 K4 campaign (not compatible with Steam). I'm not going to pick it up yet, still working on Charnwood, and then the Epsom campaign for the Spitfire.

Maybe if it comes to Steam and it's discounted I'll give it a shot.

Sounds like Kurfurst fictional campaign, not even semi-historical. They really try hard to fill the void of nonconsistent development 😁

It's March 1944, the beginning of the end. The Reich has become a fortress without a roof.......

My best guess is that it will escort the 190 A8 on jabo missions.

To be fair that question goes for bodenplatte too

Not really. First of all, I have not seen an announcement of a Bodenplatte campaign that includes bomber escort mission for Bf-109 K4.

Second, if there was such an announcement, there are several German bombers in the game that Bf-109 could theoretically escort.
