So the Pe-2 have to thank the Red fighters dealing with the 109 at our tails! But why those 109 left the big prey to deal with some fighters? Frightened because of deadly gunners sitting in a well build plane, hm? :tease:

Nope. Would of been suicide to dive on peshkas with 6x fighter escort at high alttitude 🤐😲

... BF 110 can easily dispatch IL 2 and PE 2 after a bomber sortie, while this is not the case with PE 2 or IL 2 ...

This very much depends - it's a matter of training. Both red planes are able to deal with the 110 quite well, without bombs and below 50% fuel. But one needs 1) some training to fly those types at the edge AND 2) further training to stay together protecting the formation, not just yourself.
Most of us haven't trained just one of the two arts sufficiently. So it's an build-in-advantage for the pilots flying performant planes easy to handle - the 109 f.e. My impression is formations flying performant and pilot-friendly red planes like the Yak-1, Yak-7 (or to a lesser degree the La-5) do comparably good against weaker blue models.

That's interesting , because we, the Pe-2, did not know about that large escort (see keyword "coordination" above). We had one fighter with us calling out some incoming fighters - must have been your formation. But those incoming fighters vanished miraculously and we surely had no reason to turn around and check. Might have been pure luck for us you were disturbed. The Pe-2 formation directly after the bomb runs wasn't re-established then, good setup for a bloody disaster.

Yes, i can understant ure so enjoy of ure mission yesterday, i would be happy to be able to have the same score. You fly and fight  well, with more tactical ability than vvs side, cause in our side we don't prepare our fly. Everybody do his war in his side, with no communication, but it's an other part of the problem we're unable to resolve.

To my mind, the balance between Germans flights and soviet  still disadvantage soviet side. There were more soviet bomber/attackers (or we can say "german easy kill"), in our side.

And i don t speak about fight a 109 F4(with tip) with a Lagg3.....(Fortunatly, i was able to catch up a ju88 cause it flew with his dive brake :) )

So, little humility would be welcome and very appreciate by me and give me more pleasure to fight against u. I think, i would find any glory to destroy X macchi in my Yak 1b.

NN guys have fun yesterday evening, cause we try to do our best, but was so hard.

Amicalement and Regards.

NN_Razor.

ps:U will not ear me grunt for the next 2/3 week, will be off in Namibia. :)

I am sorry NN guys. You are absolutely right about a problem with communication on VVS side.  This is what happens when you change Friday Night Bomber Flights into Friday Night Drunken Flights. Our comms officer Tomcat went missing after first sortie and we had no whispers set up to communicate with you.

We heard your call about LW planes in sector 1006 heading east. We were up north at that time and decided to intercept the bombers, thinking they are going for our target in sector 0812. We wasted at least five minutes circling in the target area and then we decided to go west.

We arrived late and saw what was the last moments of the fight you had with SCG guys. We were too high and too late. We made another bad decision and dove down on 109's that were too far and too fast for our I-16's. The rest you can see in Drifter's video. If we were on comms with you and arrived in time this fight could end very differently.

Apologies NN's.

BTW , Ishak is a tricky beast and very easy to go into a spin. Experienced 109 pilot will have no problem with outturning an I-16.

Good job SCG guys , you had a really great night. We in 307 were not the most organised last night and the fact two of us had drinks before mission didn't help :drink2:.

We promise to try harder next time, we understand your frustration Razor. Happened to us couple of times before , on the previous mission I was defending against two SCG guys for what felt like eternity, hoping help would come. It didn't.

I am really hopeful that when Air Marshall feature arrives we will be able to coordinate better.

Thanks to Tip for organising the event and thanks to all players who participated.

S!

20181013125411_1p.jpg.560d9ca7a8511f6163684a4596d9b417.jpg

Here is my point of view:

We was flying over black sea, when Lambert saw two contact, heading East, low. I recognize two Ju88. Lambert and his wingman fall on the target. I was moving to cover them, when i lose my radio (teamspeak). I was moving my radio command trying to find a solution, but i lose Lambert and Tango his wingman. Few time later, i saw a Ju88 was RTB. I fall in his back, and curioulsy, i was able to join it. I start firing near about 600 meters. It don't try to move, but his gunner bite me. I stop firing at 50 meters and break away. My wingman finished the job. But he lose me. I was RTB, when i've been approched by two Mig 3. A few time later, i saw 2me110 attacking our position. I was alone, but i  hopted the surprise help me. I forgot the gunner alert his pilot who break hard. I bite it, and my mistake was to do a second one. I forgot, the Me110 turn better, and go faster the lagg3. And because my first attack didn't  be enought efficient, i've to fight two sharks alone (no radio to ask help). I try to escape low, and i was looking back when my propeller touch the water...

For my efforts in the war, I have been placed on military leave from the fuhrer himself, for my excellence in combat.

Unfortunately this Friday it was indeed very troublesome. From our channel with the Il-2s and MiG-3s we only received whispers from Tip and NN, but for some reason our replies were not reaching. This time we failed to do proper whisper checks between channels and, well, the result was that. We need to get back to our old ways, these cross-wearing weirdos in their tacky Messerschmitts are having too much fun for their own good :russian_ru:

On a lighter note, here's Pod getting his MiG-3 up to speed:

Yes, I was flying the 110 you attacked first and my rear gunner did alert me during the bomb run. You damaged my first engine, but I outturned your LaGG. After that Memphis was able to follow you in undamaged 110 with a lot more energy.

Like the early set using the Kuban map. We'll visit this again.

Sans the throw down F-4s btw...

Should be able to get the AAR out later today.

Didn't talk about sign up at all, because i know what was in that roster, since i signed up myself and we can still see that today.

Just couldn't remember what was available, in the undesignated roster in terms of numbers and so on.

But there were not enough F4's for all of you aswell, that didn't stop you from taking those though or am i missing something!? ;)

It was good plane setup. No problem with folks using them within the RoE. Just won't have them in the next one using the early set.

SCG needs a challenge.

F4 and F2 are somewhat similar, so we could use them both in the same flight without much trouble, but the E7 is a totally different beast and would need to be in a separate flight flight all together:umnik2:

My AAR would be something like this:

Sortie 1: Called out an I-16 bouncing a group of 3 109's over coms, just to find out i have the 2nd I-16 on myself and forgetting to call for help.

So I be like, let's do some cool scissors and get this semi-drunk polish amigo!

Doing that, i am like wondering, why the heck is my plane not doing what i want it to do.

All of a sudden i had a bright lamp over my head and a "ding" sound went off... my adjustable stabilizer is wrong!

Unfortunately it took me just as long to realise what was wrong.....

to get hit, lose my wing and gently massage the water at 600+ kph without my proper Luftwaffe-bikini at hand.

You know what that means, Gents.

Sortie 2: Pretty uneventful.

Sortie 3: Teamed up with Schuck.

Pretty uneventful aswell, till more or less right at the end when Memphis called for backup at the 110 target area.

We arrived and noticed the 110 shooting, so we dove on them trying to intercept whatever they are pursuing...

but that enemy engaged his cloak and just vanished.

So we  decided to RTB. Getting closer to the airfield, Schuck called out a group of A20's to our 10.

We turn to intercept, with each of us picking his target and going for it.

I started my attack from the 2'o of the A20, during my approach the A20 turned toward me, so i decided to break off my attack.

So as we merged, all of a sudden I just exploded and the Stardestroyer who was disguised as an A20, just flew on as if nothing ever happened.

Still had a blast as always and can't wait for the next mission, thanks and well flown everybody!

:salute: Gentlemen

Just a couple of pics,

Myself and Nil unloading at Taman, and then being buzzed by a Lagg.

Due to the lack of planes we had to do 2 flights of cargo and Nil did the 3th with myself and Jizzo as escort.

He also picked up some wounded for the return flight.

As we RTB'd 2 A20's flew almost in front of us, Jizzo span around and attacked from the front, whilst i engaged from the 6.

As you can see Jizzo forgot to duck, and the resulting explosion made me jump!!!

I flew after the unmarked A20 and hammered him best i could before the 50 Cal took my engine out.

I bailed and the cute opened, but not quick enough, and i became fish food.....

Should have stuck with the 52! lol.

That's why Jizzo had the impression of short-sharp-shocked - no boom without a head. IL2-BoX again shows realism to the very detail! :popcorm:

That A-20 was badly damaged, but limped home! The "unmarked" A-20 had formerly British camouflage and it was me running straight for the target. You got both of my engines and the last left one quit a few 100 m away from the beach of an island. Nice watering, but the A(u)I decided I drowned. Here I feel a strong need for 777-studios to re-adjust the sim.

Yep...

Nov. 23rd would be the next available date for my schedule. FYI. Unless we get an update for Spit coolant and some other things expect to use 1942 set.

honestly 190 A-8 cooling is a bigger problem than Mk IX one.
