Thx Tip, that was great fun once again! It also went absolutely smooth this time.

What I just don't get is how it comes this event is not completely overcrowded every time...

Yep, it was great fun. The first target we destroyed (StG encampment) was reported as destroyed even though there were still vehicles on the ground, that was a bit unexpected.

The AA at Zety was mean, but that's OK. Until we went there our group of IL-2s were doing fine, but Zety sent all of us but Nocke back home in coffins. Good thing we went there last.

By the way, Pod, about your engine troubles... Hmm, how can I say that. I may have been involved

Good mission...

Reviewing a track I just have to laugh seeing as how we thought the 307th were our escort. Until they attacked that is. Not pretty.

Plenty of action out there. Well done all.

Fine formation. Grim, irrepressible and doomed...

Haha, no problem. It is exactly the same as happened with me and Scojo.

Only at that time, Scojo was on the receiving end.

And at least it explained my sudden engine problems :)

Was a good time. I'm out of town for the weekend but will post some screens if the attack on Zety in a few days.

It was terrifying from our perspective. We had just landed our three Ju 52s, thinking all was well and we would quietly unload our cargo when all hell broke loose.

At one point I watched an Il-2 lining up on me as I hurredly taxied to the unload area. Just as I braced for impact, fearing the worst, the ack ack blew off the Sturmovik's wing and sent him crashing into the ground next to me.

Honestly the timing of that attack with our landing was so perfect. It felt like a single player mission, couldn't have been better.

Was me I think. Nice fight against 3 of you. You over shot me and I got a few rounds into your left wing. Nice fight!

my mission was a long photo session from almost 6000m in a Ju88, i havent met anyone ( friend or foe)  for the entire mission ( even the airfield from which i took off and landed looked abandoned :) ) , just some anemic flak greeted me at some point over an enemy airfield , the good thing was that  i returned home with a nice  collection of pictures  :salute:

That Il-2 was me :)

There was so much flak, but I thought I could hit you and get away with it.

However, the flak blew off my wing before I could hit you.

I have to say, it was quite intense from my side too.

To my surprise I managed to make it for the last 1/2 on Friday, and grabbed a LaGG to join Bladebender & Biggles.  Great fun as usual.  (Thanks Tip!)  Loved the barge targets!  Too bad my bombing sucked, though.  Some good 'cat & mouse' with you Foch (I think) and another 109 over the barges and east of there, leading to the tangle Biggles showed above.  The green LaGG was me.  I finally lined you up at about the same moment you were flying between Biggles' burst, Foch -- but at that very instant he also flew right through my gunsight!  Luckily I saw him & didn't fire.  Out of energy after that & just glad to eventually get home safely.  Well flown sir.

Odessa, thanks for saying hi on TS earlier today.  Always nice to meet a former =FI=!  Hope to see you around a lot in FNBF and the servers.  I usually fly Red only because that side is lower numbers on most servers, but I 'sneak' over & fly Blue once in a while since I love _ALL_ of these old birds, and the unique experience each one offers, so I'll join you transport boys for a sortie or fly cover sometime soon.

Sshadow14, glad you're checking this out.  This event has it all, and Tip does a 1st class job so I recommend joining up if you can make the time slot.  It's 2 pm my time, so I try to get Friday afternoons off when I can for it.  Since you like bombers, this is right up your alley.  One Friday flying formation with the [DBS] boys & you'll be seriously hooked!  Oh, and bring your buds along too!

No can do... As VVS side has no idea what Axis plans are.

You two need to make a choice on what you wish to fly.

I would love to give it a try tho without OP information i can't tell what you need from me?

MY Desired planes? (would be bombers only - in order of preference)
1)  He-111 (Very competent in this plane (over 100 hours) /Prefer to dive bomb in it with 88's or Stukas/
2)  Ju-88 (Still getting used to it (only 10 hours) /Only like this plane is needed for column & tanks/
3)  Bf-110 (Reasonably confident in this as Attacker) /Dislike this plane on summer maps over 25*C/
4)   Ju-87 (Very Confident in this plane (over 60 hours) /Prefer to bomb only 37's just not my thing/

I can fly fighters but with my lack of experience flying them in IL2 i am more bait/decoy than Reliable cover and prefer to leave it to the Aces.

Welcome to FNBF...

Along with the preceeding page here for this mission the Full Signup, Roster sheet is at our Battle-fields site Here...

There are 3 He-111s available along with 8 109Gs for the Axis.

2 Il2s, 4 Pe-2s, 5 Yaks and 1 La-5 remaining for the VVS.

So judging from your post you would signup for a He-111 and fly with the [DBS] Squad in a number 3 position.

How is your formation flying?

Along with what the planeset is for the specific mission the mission post has this information:

***Please note Time Change to 20:00 UTC.

World Time Buddy is your friend here. And right above the Mission Poster is a Link to it.

**Patrol areas and Targeting to be relayed via PM to each side.

As noted within the mission post the target areas along with recon pics and briefings are sent to each player via a PM on the forum they signed up from. Either here or at the Battlefields site. Neither side knows what the other sides objectives are.

Within the PM is also the Rules of Engagement for FNBF.

Here is the ROE for the last Mission.

Mission #51: Sallies!

1) Mission will now last for 2 and 1/2 Hours not including the 12 minute hold below in #2.

2) Once the Mission Starts in the server a 12 Minute Hold is put on Players proceeding to target. ***Player controlled Tanks are excluded from this 12 Minute Hold. See #11.

2a) Following this 12 minutes hold. A visible HUD Message with the phrase "Launch Aircraft!" will appear for 1 Minute.

3) A 30 Minute "Mulligan" is now in effect. Players who die within the first 30 minutes (excluding Hold time) of the mission are allowed to respawn into available aircraft.

4) HUD Messages usually showup for met Objectives. Make sure to destroy briefed targets.

5) Players need to land before Mission end or be counted as destroyed. *Vehicles, Infrastructure and Aircraft which were destroyed during this sortie will be reinstated.

6) Each Airfield has additional aircraft added to allow for #2 and #3 above.

7) No Intentional Team Killing, Chute Attacks or Base Camping is allowed.

****Total Designated Aircraft for Mission #51 are: (Players may use Un-Designated Aircraft if alive after 1st Sortie and 30 Minute Mulligan has Elapsed)

Change in ordinance. Weapondary and Loadouts are now locked. 1000kg allowed within this mission.

6 Ju-52

16 Ju-87

20 109G-2

6 Ju-88

==============================

16 Yak1 s.69

8 Pe-2 s.87

12 IL2M-42

12 LaGG-3

7) Each Airfield has a Refueling/Rearming/Refitting Rate of 3 Minutes. Which requires that you Land your Plane back at the base you took off from.

*Players whose aircraft were destroyed are allowed to refly given that they have not been killed and there are available aircraft.

*Players of course are not allowed to change sides during the mission.

8) Players charged with specific Recon for "future or current missions" must have a transmitted message, (*use Chat), or have Objective HUD Message at the time of Recon and then Land at an Operational Airbase for recon to be verified and plotted for said future or current mission. Players may also take or be required to take Recon pictures. Landing rule applies and please submit Picture to [DBS]Tx_Tip for inclusion in future Recon Briefing Packs.

9) Just a gentle reminder. Please use appropriate armament for the Mission you are tasked for.

****Payloads and Weapondry are now locked

10) Airbase Attacks.***

Players may conduct a coordinated Airbase attack only on Enemy Bases which have been reconnoitered as specifically stated in #8 above.

There will be no vulching permitted in any instance. Make your attacks and retire from the area promptly.

I do not wish to completely deter attacks with additonal flak pieces at Airfields. These resources can be better put to use in armor, vehicles, trains etc. that we all enjoy blowing up. Nuff said.

11) Tanks. New***

Player controlled Tanks are excluded from the 12 Minute hold limit and may spawn in and begin moving when they are ready.

It is suggested that the Player remove themselves from within the Spawn Point Radar ASAP. Your mission objectives will always be outside of this Radar. And there may be a time limit to achieve said objectives.

Hint.Tanks travel via roads up to 3 times faster than off road.

Just a reminder....

This in the Briefing for every Game-Server Mission that we at Battle-fields.com hosts including the 2 BoS servers...

Please respect other pilots. Team Killing, Chute Attacks and Base Camping is strictly forbidden and players are subject to being Kicked from the server. Foul Language will not be tolerated.

That is all.

Have Fun!

Tip

The rest is self apparent:

*UK_1 Server Settings for Friday Night Bomber Flights will be Full CEM, No Icon, No Navigational aides.

*TS will be the Official BoS server (8.3.5.133:9407) password bos2014; in one of the MP Channels.

=Backup TS Address will be: ts3.riseofflight.net:7777 - Password: 1917

FNBFs is basically a coordinated, disciplined dynamic event.

If this is something that you think you'd be interested in then signup and fly with us.

In the opinion of many, this is the best event Il-2 has to offer. But...

Tx_Tip' timestamp='1487734294' post='445316'] How is your formation flying?

...your WoL 111 dive bombing is not going to fit in here. Unless you're flying recon, you won't be flying alone. This should fix all of the complaints I've seen you make towards WoL, however, since everyone plays the objective, with clear orders from HQ. It's really pretty awesome.

The fact that I check this thread every week when I rarely ever make it is testament to that- just reading the AAR gets me excited! Tip and DBS have done a fantastic job and I wish I could join more often, I envy all of you that are able!

PS- I will eventually post a vid of the thrilling Il-2 attack on the landed Ju 52s, I promise!
