First FNBF in a while, so obviously my mother is coming to stay this weekend and I won't be available.

You will have to communicate and synchronise plans with my mother in future @[DBS]Tx_Tip.

Hey @[DBS]Tx_Tip just wondering. You think one of those 109 F-2s could be a third 110? you know us ZG26 guys, and 2 110s are not enough for a defensive circle ;)

only if you think it wont disturb the mission balance of course.
Thanks

More a matter of targeting, distance and map utilization than straight balance within this mission.

How about one or both of the ZG26 109 drivers move up to 88's freeing the F2 for steinh0ff. That way at least 2 players are flying with Jantzen to show him the ropes.

Can change over after the first sortie survival and past the mulligan natch. Or not.

Hello Tip, I asked earlier today if anyone else is interested besides us who already signed up, but no one has showed up. So there´s a free f2 now. Thank you for your patience! :)

I am going to have to bow out, sadly.  Discovered a termite problem in the cabin next to my house this week, and the inspector just called and will come today in the middle of the mission time.  So, no fun for me, and likely a big expense!

Bummer that is too close.

As one familiar with the old adage of "a house has termites, had termites or will get termites" . No fun indeed.

My AAR for SCG's Dead is Dead Missions on FNBF

It was early in the day, when we were ordered to the barracks to discuss today's missions. It was the same as always, escort our bombers across the black sea, to strike at strategic defensive positions, currently giving our ground forces a hard time after a land invasion not to long ago had commenced on the other side of the black sea.

Once we were done with our briefings for today's flights, we were right then ordered to begin the days escort missions.

I met with my flight lead, a well respected and well known leader, Major.  Einhardt "Rik" Riksen, and number 3, Feldwebel. Maximillian "Max" Sieger, a new pilot who was just transferred from his flight school, but within a few sorties, has already gathered kills, so i was not to worried, and felt rather comfortable. We stood there, next to our kites, talking about today's plans, ATA for take off, Formations once airborne and on way to target, ect ect. Once we had finished, we had jumped into our birds and started up the engines.

As my engine rumbled, i taxi'd in order, following number my number 1; Major Einhardt.

I remember thinking what will today bring; Will i be successful? Or a burning wreck on the ground? Only time could tell.

We were then in position ready for takeoff, Me in number 2 position on the left, and Number 3 on the right.   We checked our controls one last time, after this, we began to take off, I remember how much i loved my Bf 109, The amount of power you felt when you pushed on the stick was amazing; she, was amazing, a true piece of machinery. Once we were airborne we got into our Vee formation, taking a heading of 110 Degrees South-East towards our Rendezvous point to meet StG 1. It was around 10 minutes before we reached the rally point before being ordered into a left hand circuit over the point.

I looked around, early morning transferred into early afternoon, This brought the sky to a bright and baby blue background and scattered clouds, With the Black Sea just to our east, i thought to myself how beautiful Russia was, and how vast the green fields and hills were, i couldn't wait to win this war and settle down here, surely i would get something for my server to the fatherland?

Once we saw contact with our stuka's, we begun our heading out which was a direct Eastern heading. After a  few circles around our slow bombers, Our number 1 decided to go ahead of the bombers to clear a way for them, which would be proven to be a smart idea.

Just then Einhardt broke radio silence, "Achtung Achtung! Contacts 1 o'clock, you see them Adler 2?"

I looked at my 1 o 'clock, i saw them a little lower,  they were 2 MiG's, possibly ordered to do a fighter sweep.

I replied, "This is 2, i have eyes, 2 times contacts, low, they're MiG's Adler 1"

Einhardt responded "Copy that, Adler 2 you have permission to engage"

I did not hesitate, i adjusted throttle to full boar, my engine roaring, i saw the 2 MiG's we're attempting to make a head on with me, I broke off and climbed, The MiG's were smart and responded with a Cross over to avoid my # 1's pass. After i saw my opportunity, i dove in on the 2nd MiG, With full throttle, i gained quickly, He must of not saw me as i was gaining closer and closer, I then decided to fire, I saw my tracer's, way in front, but in his line of flight, So i held the trigger and let him fly into my line of fire. With me seeing AT LEAST 5 20'mm's hit, i saw his whole right wing and rudder fall off, another kill to add, to my ever growing score. I heard #3 yell over the radio "Horridoooo", I now knew it was confirmed.

Moments later i saw the other MiG hit the drink with #3 behind his wreck, i could of only thought this was his doing, another kill for the rookie.

After this engagement, it was quite for most of the way back, until our flight heard a radio signal;

"Achtung, Achtung Adler, Furniture Vans, 400 m Altitude heading direct east, feet wet, Just hit factory complex, Sector 0907 - 8 On way back from bombing run, please engage"

After we heard this message, and StG 1 was way in friendly lines, we broke off to intercept the bombers.

It only took us a few minutes of searching before we saw them, 4 Peshka's on deck broken up into 2 flights of 2, but there was also another surprise,  almost around 8 escorts, mostly consisting of LagG-3-11

We wasted no time, we broke from the Russian bombers and we begun our climb, after a few energy traps, we had the advantage and went to town.

5 minutes into the fight and we had already scored 3 kills, 2 to me, and 1 to my number 1

10 minutes; another 4, being split into pieces by our flights cannons

We had scored a total of 11 kills this flight, "Man!" i thought We were truly the Experten of JG52.

Once we had landed back at base, we were greeted with all pilots and ground crews who have heard of the news of our success, they've probably heard of this information by ground troops and vessels near the scrap.

Later that night was a celebration, the ground crews rushed to the nearest city to get any alcohol they could get there hands on, they even brought a few Russian women. It was a party, to say the least..

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is now in a downpour; a monsoon, accented with the blackness of midnight. As i think back from today, i remember how lucky i am to have such great wing men, and how they allow me to live, and protect.

If anyone should find these letters, I hope that one day the youth of Germany, and the rest of the world might understand something of me, Of how i took to the air, if not of where i fell.

                                                  - Erich "Bubi" Hartmann
                                                          Staffel Kapitan Of JG52

Well that was a nice day for the Luftwaffe !

also for our Squad II/JG11.but not für me II/JG11ATLAN 1st Sortie went smooth, (1 assist kill i-16 Rata)Iand landed safely. but on the second Sortie I have this damn Grafic Bug, first lost Tracking of my Rift, then Video Freeze, after this game Freeze ,and my 109 was not anymore controllable by hotas, and my airplane crashed in the Ground, i was dead after Mulligan and i have to disconnect, and for me the war was over!

but II/JG11PUMA and II/JG11TERZEROLE HELD THE FLAG HIGH!

II/JG11PUMA 8 kills 2 Ratas,3 P40´s,and a bunch of IL-2´s

II/JG11TERZEROLE 2 kills 2 MIG-3´s

and not to Forget the famous SCG Squad who butchered the Reds as we noticed.

have fun with a few pics over the Kuban Peninsula ...

Yes, i can understant ure so enjoy of ure mission yesterday, i would be happy to be able to have the same score. You fly and fight  well, with more tactical ability than vvs side, cause in our side we don't prepare our fly. Everybody do his war in his side, with no communication, but it's an other part of the problem we're unable to resolve.

To my mind, the balance between Germans flights and soviet  still disadvantage soviet side. There were more soviet bomber/attackers (or we can say "german easy kill"), in our side.

And i don t speak about fight a 109 F4(with tip) with a Lagg3.....(Fortunatly, i was able to catch up a ju88 cause it flew with his dive brake :) )

So, little humility would be welcome and very appreciate by me and give me more pleasure to fight against u. I think, i would find any glory to destroy X macchi in my Yak 1b.

NN guys have fun yesterday evening, cause we try to do our best, but was so hard.

Amicalement and Regards.

NN_Razor.

ps:U will not ear me grunt for the next 2/3 week, will be off in Namibia. :)

Dive brake was jammed on. Nothing I could do about it. I could have done something about shooting back but I was all fingers and thumbs and couldn't get the control or aim to sight operational - in fact I didn't even see you thought-out!!!. not this it would have made any difference. Very efficient dispatch I have to say!! S!

As for the second point - 100% agree. There are good days and bad days. The Good are when you got away with it and the stars aligned. A humble appreciation of that fact would serve us all well. But its also, as you allude to, a case a making your own luck. Regardless of the match up (they were F2s not F4s I understand) you can perhaps gave a little concession to the work SCG put have into their coms and tactical training outside of the battlefield in the past 12 months. In my first stint with SCG I can remember the 307 and the 216th cutting though us like butter, knocking our full squad of fighters out of the sky in seconds. As such you may perhaps understand the Drifter's youthful exuberance at how that malaise seems to have been overcome. At least on this flight.

Remember too that AAR is written by a young man adopting the persona of another young man. It should be taken in that context and enjoyed as a piece of creative writing not a factual account of a virtual sim mission.

As I was in not involved in the flight I can only go off the AAR and the video. It seems that the numerical advantage was held by yourselves in that engagement to begin. Whether though tactics, communication, equipment or a combination of all three that situation was not exploited to any red advantage and quickly overturned. If we speak of humility then perhaps it cuts both ways. I saw fighters flown by experienced squad simmers downed, not bombers or attackers.

Personally choosing the title "A good day" over "Russian massacre" for the video may have been a little more conciliatory but equally im sure the Red Squadrons have many posts on here with equal bragging rites after a good mission. Its all good. FNBF is full of good people and (me excepted) great pilots from which everyone can learn.

Long may it reign!

S! Enjoy Namibia Razor

I was just speak about the vidéo (and this time i appreciate u don t have our skins :) ). And, some of you flew on F4 (i shoted on, with a nice deflection :) ). And i really appreciate to fly against goods squads like ures.

Sorry for the title Razor, i'll be sure to change it, i just thought it was a catchy title and nothing else of it, i now see how unsportsmanlike it is,

Anyway, great server as always, and i salute all who fly in it, have a good day lads.
