I think the most interesting addition would be the ability of the players to direct tank attacks somehow instead of spawning them randomly.

Rearm and refuel on the other hand, just makes you value your AC even more.

what if your damaged and need to find the nearest AF . How would that effect returning back to your start AF.

 Same as it is now, you will get it back next round

I was thinking, maybe it would be better, if you can take off from everywhere, but need to take off from where you landed, or if you dont, get the same 9min penalty you get now if you bail out, crash etc.

This sounds interesting. I think it would not be liked in general, however.

He opened fire on an enemy airplane

A friendly airplane crossed his line of fire

The friendly airplane lost a wing, pilot bailed out

 

Up to now I'ld really say 'shit happens'

The fact of shooting a friendly airplane is

50% to the pilot who shot (and didn't realize somebody crossing his line of fire even if he could have seen him)

50% to the pilot who crossed the line of fire (and didn't realize another plane was engaging it even if he could have seen him)

 

Afterwards the bailed pilot was chute killed.

And one again I'll have to say 'shit happens'

- chute killing is NOT forbidden

 

But the only shit that happened is in fact:

We are talking about a player that seems to have been banned

for shooting a friendly plane (by accident)

and the pilot shot down was killed on his chute by a different player from his own team

and even worse: from his own SQUAD

 

The facts I do know (posted here by a teammate from the insulted and punished player)

for me look like there is only 1 fair solution.

 

Either BOTH pilots are punished in the same way (banning and resetting stats) for friendly fire

or NONE of them (means reinstalling the stats for the only punished player, unbanning him AND posting it here)

I was asking just about supply runs not a normal combat run....it's a mod to the plane so I asked.  And I do know I do not need them....

I have learned that to enjoy this server as it was intended, I really just need behave as I would in my profession: Fly safely from one friendly field to another and treat the front line is if it is radioactive.  I am ok with that.  I like going from one place to another in relative safety.  And the I-16 is a wonderful toy for fast travel and light aerobatics.  But it is not for tangling with coordinated 109s.  Nor is the MiG.  Not complaining.  I love the server now that I know how to exist within it. The key is not to risk one's hide and to enjoy the show from a distance.  Thanks for making it happen!

Haha, that plane limit is a great thing, make you value your virtual life a bit more, especially if you want to get better aircraft after the first map. But yeah, team flight is of course the way to go against the enemy wings.

 

This server is my favorite past time and I watch TAW map every day several times how the war is going.

@Inkompetentposted it already on the  discord, but I just post it here for the record:

The Bf 109 F-2 cant equip the centerline 20mm MG 151.

This is either a bug on the server (mod wrongfully locked) or is not documented in the planeset, where the 20mm is not marked as excluded.
I would like to see this fixed either way. Preferably enabling the 20mm because the 15mm is only nice for tickling IL2s and Pe2. They laugh quite considerably when i attack them.

They laugh so hard that they sometimes hit trees in the egress.

 What about Sc1000 in Ju88? It only states SC1800 is forbidden

I really cant see any reason for this..

Emil has 2 x 20mm cannons,

the F2 is a killer with only one 20mm?

the Mig doesn't  have 2 x 20mm cannons?

With this point of view you had to remove FWs from future maps becuase they have much more fire power than yaks and migs..

So all other planeset is 100% historically accurate, and for 2 months F2s nose cannon is not?According to wikipedia also, migs,yaks,laggs,and la5s had only 650-680 klm dive speeds and not 750-780..

i guess this is made for “cry” reasons also isn't it?

 Planeset will never be 100% historic, but the 15mm in F2 is at least a good test to be.

15mm F2 is sometimes a pain, but I'm all for it if it fits the historical/realism vision for the server. Tbh one thing i miss on the plane set is the Yak-9 and the Yak-9T

Historical/realism somehow cant always  fit 100% when leaderboards between players and teams are there, this is a game anyway.

Generally speaking, nothing to do with F2s nose cannon.

True, but it fits the vision of the server right? Personally would be nice to have the leaderboards just show at the end of every campaign, players having to keep tally themselves if they want to know, but thats just me

I don't mind having all kinds of servers but I think we have more than enough "esport" servers. Please, leave pure simmers like me a single server which is somehow historically correct.)) It's still not what we need but the only such server we have.

This might actually make some people engage targets in stead of doing circles .

Autumn runs from September 22 to December 21. January is MAP No. 3 and the F2 will be 20 mm there. And it will be F4. The fact that the production of the MG 151/20 started in autumn does not mean that all F2s in combat units near Moscow got them right away. They were replaced as part of repairs or periodic inspections. The battle was on. You flew on what you had.

Doing lone attack runs on this server is a one way ticket . With the AAA being so deadly . 🥶 jeeeee .

I Guess this is to stop lone attacks and fly as a team effort .. But that seems not to be the case when low numbers are in place . ? Red side .

Im sure -=RedS=-Str1ke and other guys from "Sober Sky" are willing to take you with them. They are flying nearly every evening, big raids to blue airfields.
