Always shocked, that both sides has more destroyed trucks than available. Last time it was twice.

It is in manual.

 

Each side on each map has limits of lost aircraft, pilots, tanks and trucks visible on the main TAW page.

  • if aircraft or pilot limit is exceeded then current map is lost
  • if tank limit is exceeded then tank convoys are not generated
  • if truck limit is exceeded then supply convoys are reduced by half in number of vehicles.

Please do not disable ReShade on the server. The administration of the Combat Box server is not going to do this, but it will detect cheaters. Leave it to honest ReShade users to preserve their vision

So there are at least one server where migoto and reshade users can fight with each other. IMHO no need to have this mods enabled on taw

The problem is that right now there is no technical way to determine if somebody is using ReShade to enhance colors or to abuse the current visibility mechanics to gain an unfair advantage. Hence I strongly believe that injectors should not be allowed, especially on TAW which right now is the best online gaming experience in IL-2 (with a huge margin). I hope that this server will be clean. And I am actually very frustrated that Combat Box will allow injectors.

Dear all, this maybe comes a bit too late but nevertheless...

The 72nd AirGroup congratulates all the active TAW participants on the completion of the 22nd TAW campaign, and in particular the red side who won a sound victory!

 

Let us also express our deepest gratitude to =LG=Kathon and the TAW's team for organizing the campaign and their hard work upkeeping and improving the server!

 

We are thankful to all the campaing participants for the exciting experience!

 

Fruitful cooperation between the 72AG, -=RedS=-, Skv, -=19FAB=- and many other squads and individual pilots gave an opportunity to organize many interesting and at the same time successful air operations. We have gathered experience, lived many exciting moments together and had a lot of fun. Thank you the allies! It was honor and pleasure to cooperate with you!

 

In particular we would like to thank:

19th Guards Front Aviation Brigade squad - for active participation in the action

=19GvFAB=Battler - for organization and coordination of the joint operations

Skv_Vovka - for significant contribution to the Red side victory and high proficiency level and airmanship as well as exemplary discipline.

In our oppinion the TAW server is the best project for large organized teams and we are grateful and happy to see that its developers continue to improve the project which gets better and better with each passing campaign! Thank you Team!

Taking the opportunity we would like to express some thoughts hoping that the Team will find them worth of their attention and help further project development.

 

We believe that the weakest part of the project's mapset is the 'Kuban' map. We do understand that it is difficult to create and interesting gameplay on the map half of which is just a vast and empty sea and a third is mountains just as empty, we guess that it would be beneficial to add 2-3 airfields are to the SE, NE and/or E of Krasnodar. There is a rumour however the the game devs are already working on the map to make it more balanced, if that is true than probably this suggestion is irrelevant, so we hope that the devs will be succesful in their endeavour in the near future.

 

The other point we would like to address is the project's stats, while it is totally up to the project's team to decide how the stats should work, we think the stats could be made more objective if the following tweaks could be made:

- give less points for destroying objects in the AA ambush groups. We think that everybody will agree that destroying a lonely lightly defended tank in a not-so-important AA ambush group should not give the same reward as the destruction of a tank in a strong AA covered column or attacking formation the destruction of which strongly impacts the outcome of the current mission.

- top-5 should be formed on the basis of 'max-achieved' streak not current streak at the moment, now a strong pilot with a long streak is blown out of the top-5 after a single death and can be replaced there by a much more modest but just a tad luckier pilot.

 

One other moment we would like to highlight is the pilot's side choice for the campaign. The server is close to 'historical' setting simulating WWII realities and hence it maybe reasonable to make the player's choosen side unchangeable for the rest of the campaign. We believe that it would help to prevent side-change exploits and make the project even more realistic.

 

While discussing the XXII campaign our pilots have hotly discussed the planeset, more often that not in this disscussions came up the idea of an ADW-like (if anyone remembers) 'weapon of choice' planes sets. That is the pilot had to choose a certain 'set' or 'line-up' of planes like: 'Yaks line-up' where you'd get Yaks earlier but will get no La-5s in the later war and vice-versa, or the 'Bf-109 line up' where you would get later 109's models earlier but wouldn't get FW-190s, etc. We can elaborate on that and provide our suggestions if the Team is interested.

This, if it's possible. I flew most of my sorties in last campaign in Hs 129. It is frustrated that there is only one in the profile. Therefore I was severely restricted  because even the ditching the plane meant I loose the one and only plane for couple of mission. Maybe this issue could be balanced by three different profiles, each one for fighter/bomber/attacker. So once the preference is selected specific planeset is bound to each player with slightly more planes of his choice while heavily restricted number of planes from the others.

I give you a point here to some extend. But there is the other side of the coin as well. According to my experience, I scored way less tank kills by attacking the armored columns than by destroying these ambushes. First, I usually log alone these days therefore it's basically waste of the plane to attack well defended column. Second, destroyed tanks are hard to identified in many times. Additionally, with the server credit system, even if I kill the tank (I exploded many of them with 50 kg bombs/30 mm hits) I was not credited with the kill, because there were "fun-flyers" dropping 500 kg bombs with not enough precision to kill but enough to "reserve" the kill. Too often I rtbed with 0 kills despite I caused explosion of several tanks and my mission log showed I hit them for 30 % to 40 %. On contrary, tanks destroyed in ambushes are counted into the destroyed limit the same way as these in columns. But I agree that these are not primary targets.

It's very good idea, can Admins create Yandex money, or Sberbank online payment system? paypal is difficult system for russian community...

Don't want to get too philosophical, but one of the things that made TAW special, compared to the other 24/7 servers, was it's limited availability for only a certain time frame. Totally enjoyed that deep dive in to this hardcore campaign experience for a few weeks. The long break afterwards was just as important as the actual campaign itself. If i remember correctly there were only two campaigns a year, back when i first took part. That special feeling somehow got lost a little over time. I mean, if something is just there, almost all the time, it's just not special anymore! So @=LG=Kathon, @=L/R=todeskvlt (and all the others of the LG-Squad), if you ask me, you can do a really long break this time!
