Saturday Night Bombers Flight

Recommended Posts

I'll take an IL-2 (but if I'm the only one and there are Pe2s available I'll switch to that, if that's OK).

Looking at the numbers, plus ever organized 4./JG52 in force, it's going to be a tough fight for the VVS.

Just how we like it!

Edit: I missed Cholo and Hauggy by themselves at the bottom of the list, not so bad!

In worst case we will even  a little bit but for now it's nearly fair.

Yeah, I'm bad at counting. And even if it was uneven, I wouldn't complain. Just joking around :salute:

We had some technical difficulties on our end.....Lost Manu in mid-flight and haven't heard from him since.  My FFB controller went kaput in the middle of the 2nd flight and I never did get back in there.  But all in all a good flight and thanks everyone for flying.  We had a fair amount of people in there and some new guys showed up as well.

I'm impressed on how tight a formation people behind manage to keep! First sortie saw our first drop miss by a few meters because of the wind, the second drop was on target but we could not get all the buildings. On the way back I sent us way further south than I thought. We made it back to home base, but with very little fuel left.

The second flight was an improvised attack on Surovikino AF. I got my target but so did the AA on the field. I made it back to Gromoslavka badly injured with both engines damaged. Sadly we lost Shraps to interceptors, but the rest made it back to Zety. Thanks to p3zman and his wing for valiantly fighting 109s in P40s, that allowed us to reach Surovikino.

that would be because of the lag...

Yes, I have to admit that I think there was some lag issues in this one.  First time hosting from our location here.  In my opinion Coconuts server runs smoother.

No problem coconut, i have a great video of our escort on that mission and all the P-40's ditching their bombs when contact was called. I imagine it looked like the Mustangs did over Europe when they would ditch their fuel tanks for the fight. These are the little things that excite me about this game.

After our first sortie to clear AAA from a factory complex before our bombers arrived, remaining elements of the SEAD package encountered enemy Ju-88's and their escort. They were called heading East toward Gromoslovka so curious and I scrambled to intercept. We spawned in and it was deathly quiet at our airfield but it just added to the adrenaline, the calm before the storm. We never did find those 88's but our hearts were pounding with anticipation. It was an amazing feeling; no enemy aircraft were found but it didn't matter. Just the thought that we might see them and our rush to intercept away from the airfield was entertaining enough. Then Jizzo found us and punished us from above :/

Still, you know this game has got something special when your adrenaline is flowing despite any combat... Hell, not finding the aircraft like we expected just made it more intense. Awesome game.

Yeah, that 2nd mission was pretty exciting when we came in range of the field and saw the nav lights burning. It was costly though as we lost nearly all our aircraft to flak. I managed to limp away in a very shot up condition, quickly lost an engine and feathered it. Somewhere around Kumovka the fuel ran out so I set it down at the airfield there.

Going to give Saturdays a go this week and hopefully push your numbers up a bit.

3 x Yaks for us please - another change of pace since I've been ground pounding for ages now in FNBF.  Should be fun.  :joy:

=FI=Genosse

=FI=Ardmore

=FI=Blue2

Looking forward to it.  Thanks!

I guess put me in a Ju-88A-4. Unless the Bf-109E-7's will get to do 'Jabo' missions?

I promise I'll be there this time. I fell asleep after work on Saturday and didn't wake up until late evening.

Also Manu, I wanted to make skin packs for this series but KG27 didn't fly Ju-88's.
