Just ordered, still don't see my warthog taking the place of my extended G940 stick but hopefully extending it will help! I'll report back.

Recieved my 7.5cm black extension a couple of days ago, hope to get it hooked up and try it out today.

Got my new extension installed and tried out for the first time today.

Installation was very straightforward and easy.

I had a hard time deciding on a length, basically I flipped a coin and went with the 7.5cm extension. If I wanted to center mount this, or set it between my legs, I would probably want something longer like 10cm or even more.

My desk has a couple of leaves that slide out, one on right and one on left, and they sit a couple of inches lower than the desk top, so that helps. I just put the joystick on that leaf like I always have, and so far I really like it.

It has definitely helped in the stiction department, while I would not say it totally eliminated  it , it is no where near as bad as it was. And the stick is much easier to move due to the extended length of course, allowing me to make much better small inputs than previously.

So far I am very pleased with it.

Hey, I was wondering if you use your Warthog for flight simulation (FSX) or for gaming. Also, do you have any plans to center mount your joystick? I am looking to do that, and I need some ideas as to how to go about building a mount. Thanks for posting you pictures, they are very nice and it helps.

I use it for combat flight , DCS, BOS, CloD, ROF.

No plans at this time, going to use it as I have it for now. I would probably want a longer extension if I were to center mount it.

Any plans to make these extensions fit the VKB sticks like the mamba or up coming gunfighter ?

Hi Skoop,

it depends really on the numbers and how they will sell. TBH you are the first person to ask. Once I had a Mamba stick to test it out and I was not overwhelmed with it. I want to aquire the Gunfighter stick to see what it is. Then I can tell you more. Soon I will be introducing more stuff for the Warthog though, so stay tuned.

Curiously for early Cobra MOD they show a prototype for short variable extension, from 0 to 5 cm.

Their actual is 20 cm.

BTW - How about this with extension for Warthog:

Got my extension in a few weeks ago and just finished my project. I bought 4 inch pipe and two end caps at the hardware store along with some nuts and bolts. I attached one end cap to the base plate and the other to the stick. I measured exactly how long the main pipe had to be which was exactly 7 inches. I cut it and inserted it with 3 big rocks in the main pipe for extra weight and stability. I had tried increasing the tension of the main spring with no luck. I had tried putting in two big springs, placing pennies under the spring, and anything else you can think of with no luck what so ever. I accepted the fact that I was not going to increase the resistance internally so I went to external solutions. I then got the rubber circular thing that went around my old thrustmaster topgun, and inserted it on this stick. The stick feels amazing, with the rubber around it increasing resistance like I wanted, and allowing just the right range of motion. Here are some pictures. Feel free to ask any questions.

I received mine quickly after ordering. The cabling is very nice and the extension functions properly. If I were to have any criticism it's that the  threading was a little rough and unfinished on mine, luckily I had a deburring tool laying around.

Yep, same here, the threading was rough at the base of the extension.

Unwanted scratches on the tube also (metal finish).

Dispointed by that but it does the job.

The last batch had to be crafted on a different machine, hence the roughness and difference in the appearance, the functionality was and is still there of course. Once on a stick you do not look at the threads anyway.

However now, everything is in place again and the extensions look even better than before. So no worries here.

For both of you guys, I will be introducing new products in the coming week, drop me a pm or I will pm you if you are interested in the new products and we can set up some extra conditions for you, those products will be very limited in the beginning.

Hi all,

Hereby I would like to introduce the long awaited Thrustmaster Warthog Hoodies/Dust Covers, I am adding them to my product portfolio.

You are fed up with all the dust on your precious simulator hardware ? You want to protect the Warthog gimbal and Warthog throttle from dust getting into it ? You don’t like to clean up your simulator peripherals ?  Grab one of my hoodies, it will cover your peripherals and will look pretty cool on top of that. Practical and stylish at the same time.

Check the Best Deals Tab on my website there you can combine the purchase of extensions with hoodies.

As for the pedals which I present in the video and on the pictures, those are VKB 21-1 Pro rudder pedals. The VKB pedals are relatively big with approx. dimensions L : 52 cm, W : 25 cm, H : 17 cm which means the dust cover for the pedals will fit any other pedals that are available on the market right now.

For any sort of questions you can reach me on FB or via email.

I got my extension from Sahaj a few days ago. I choose the standard 10 cm version. Machining was good with nice finish and threads fit in nice with those on the stick. A nice touch was that the cable is slightly longer than needed meaning you get a natural pressure on the Warhog connectors so there is no risk of loosing the electrical connection. So I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Hi all,

I ordered a silver 10cm extension one or two weeks ago and the hoodies for stick and throttle too.

Safely packed up it arrived a few days later.

The extension is great. Nice threading and finish and everything works like a charm without problems.

It's really a big improvement in precision and highly recommended!

The hoodies look nice and fit exactly. Nothing to complain and happy :)

Big Thanks!

Hi

Got mine recently 150mm but I mainly fly  bombers.

Huge difference when it comes to take off an overloaded plane. Just love it..

Thanks Sahaj and it was pretty quick to southern france

Have a 10cm extension and must admit that it is a significant difference to precision the original stick - flight manouvers can be flown much smoother... it's highly recommendable !

Went for the 10cm extension. Significantly extended the travel of the stick, and the resistance is less because of the increased leverage.

Smoothness and precision are very noticably better.

I wouldn't like to go back to not using this !!

The Hoodies are a nice idea too, very good quality.

Thanks Sahaj for being great to do business with.

Salute !

I recently purchased the 10cm extension and Sahaj asked me to give a small review.  So this is my small review.

I visited Sahaj's website and picked out the 10cm extension along with the joystick covers.  (Why not the covers looked nice.)  I payed through paypal on Christmas day and everything went smoothly.  The following day I received an email that my order had been shipped.  It took about 15 days to get over the ocean and make it to me here in the States.  Not too bad.  The only thing is once the package left Poland I was not able to track it, but I had faith it would make it.  The good thing was that the package required a signature so it could not be stolen from my doorstep.

The package was well wrapped and everything was there.  I got the black extension to match my black chair and mount.  The product is professionally done and only took about 5 minutes to install.  Just plug the connectors in and screw down the extension.  The joystick covers are also nice.  I got the black ones to match.

After I lowered my mount about 4 inches, the first thing I noticed was how light the stick was to throw back and forth.  The extension reduced the force needed to move the stick by about half.  The warthog is known for a stiff stick.  This took some getting used to.  My muscle memory was applying the force I was used to and I was throwing my plane all over the place.  I can say after about a week of relearning the needed force, I simply loved the new lighter stick.  It's become such a joy to fly with ease.

Another thing I noticed was it made landing and taking off almost simple.  You could place the flare exactly where you wanted it.  Two wheel landings are common now with little to no bounce.

Also your able to control the plane much better when riding the stall.  Being able to pull just before the stall and ride it along is great.  My biggest problem before was adding evenly forward pressure to the stick when needed.  This has greatly been reduced.

One thing that surprised me.  I kept my joystick curves the same as before.  I spent some hours playing around with the curves and I came back to the very same settings before the extension.  Of course the throw makes the same curves that much more precise.   50% elevator  20% roll  .2 nose filter

In the end, I feel Sahaj offers a great niche product for warthog owners.  I would give the product a A+.

Hello pilot.

I own an extension that I bought to Sahaj since.. May be two years now. Recently I discovered and ordered his dust cover and I'm very happy with it, so I though it's time to share my experience. The stick cover FULLY protect my 15cm extended stick. I can not tell if the same cover could fully protect a 20cm extended stick.

Nothing to say about the extension itself.. It does the job, I could NOT revert back and use a vanilla Warthog, make no sense to me.

I also ordered a stiffer Red Spring to combine with my 15cm extension in order to get back the original centering force we experience with a unextended Warthog. It's a tactile feedback I enjoy.

I'll add picture of the protection to this post when the condition to take cool picture will be met.

Until then here's the extension in his new home. (Yes.. This was an old socks dust cover ^^)

Last week, I ordered "best deal" at Sahaj's: 2x20cm "ace maker" extension + blue stronger replacement spring. Sahaj was quite reactive to answer my questions and promptly sent the package which I received last Monday. Everything was carefully packed up and in perfect condition. Mounting the spring and the two extensions was smooth and easy. I tried it right away both in DCS and IL2 BOx series and it really feels incredible ! Stick coordination is much smoother than before, especially with slow speed handling of the plane. In short: everything seems much more natural and closer to my private pilot experience (both flat flying and aerobatics). Finally, I can work properly my slow rolls, which was almost impossible before, and three-point landings are incredibly easy to perform (as they should). And of course, the extended stick is clearly of great help for aiming/shooting.

Here is a picture of my stick and rudder, both fixed on a plank (which is necessary with the 40cm extension). The total height of the stick is roughly 68 cm (fitting just under my desk, phew !):

warthog_with_extension.jpg

For me, the only downside of the product is its price (160€ incl. shipment, and it was a special offer !), but I guess that there is no other way for Sahaj with such a highly specialised market like ours, and the quality of the manufacturing is obvious. I have absolutely no regret: the product clearly worth it !

I just got a new green spring, as I'm unable to use an extension due to desktop height. Have to say it's an immediate 100% improvement over the stock spring. Along with a pair of nice black hood and a silicone O-Ring. Money well spent in my book :clapping:

Great turn round also, hats off  Sahaj.

Regards.

The warthog extension makes the difference between a joystick and control stick feeling.

Our training airplanes are controlled via a control stick. Therefore it was a significant different touch using a joystick at simulation compared to real. The extension adds now the required free moving space to be as close as it gets to real.

I bought the green feather from Sahaj for my Thrustmaster Warthog because the standard feather was too tight for me. I mainly fly helicopters on the simulator and needed a slightly softer steering for the Warthog. With the green feather from Sahaj my personal demands on the steering are now perfect.

I am posting this here in case anyone else gets this fault with their Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Joystick. The rubber 'O ring' worked loose on my Joystick (see picture attached) which I gather is quite a common fault with this stick. I got a replacement silicon 'O' ring from Sahaj  - problem solved.

I can recommend his services, for my personal experience was this : 12 Euros (approx £10.00) paid for replacement silicon O ring, order acknowledged and dispatched within 24 hours, arrived at my house in the UK, from Poland via Royal Mail within 5 days. The package was also tracked which was a re-assuring touch.

I fitted the replacement, and my Joystick is now just like new.

I hope this information may be of help to anyone here, should the need ever arise, to make this simple repair to their Warthog.

Kind Regards,

MDS1

I received my 7.5cm Sahaj extension today, after an unusually long delivery time. My order had been confirmed and the receipt for payment had been sent on the same day that I made the payment, and the item was dispatched the following day. Top marks to Sahaj.

That's where the process broke down. For some reason it took a few weeks to reach my address in New Zealand from Poland.

Edit: This delay was clearly nothing to do with Sahaj, as he dispatched it the day after I paid and by priority post. There may have been a holdup with NZ customs, or some other problem en route.

No harm done though, as I've just received my new computer, and the build shop at the other end of the country had neglected to install the wi fi component into the motherboard! Still waiting for delivery of the wireless adaptor that they're sending me, so I've yet to purchase, download and install The Game.

While I'm unable to test my joystick with it's newly installed component, in flight, I can give my first impressions of the extension: Out of the package  (bubble-wrap lined envelope) it looked very impressive. Not 'just a piece of pipe', it is quite substantial and precision engineered. No trace of burring, the threads are totally smooth, and perfectly matched the WH threads, as you'd expect for the price paid. The connector plugged in easily and has a degree of flexibility to allow for offset adjustment of the handle to suit center mounting, which I'm currently working on.

The resistance of the spring is now perfect for me, having felt a bit stiff before the upgrade. Small inputs now feel much more precise and should greatly improve shooting accuracy.

I can't wait to test my new, improved joystick with that first takeoff and, eventually, in the heat of battle.

I'm curious to know how long the original rubber seal lasted before coming loose MDS1. This is one problem I hadn't heard of with the WH stick. When did you start using it?

I'm curious because my stick is brand new, and therefore hasn't even begun to suffer the dreaded sticktion yet.

Hi @jaygee485

I had my Thrustmaster Warthog about a year and approximately 1000hrs use before the O ring worked loose. It is probably is still under warranty, but to be honest I couldn't be bothered with all that hassle of getting it sent away for repair, etc.

The strange thing is, I have my joystick settings ultra sensitive, with no deadzones - so I rarely, if ever, use the full range of motion on the stick.  Very small inputs to the stick is my preferred mode of flying. The O ring worked loose though, apparently due to the adhesive used in manufacture not being up to the job. I gather, that like the common "Stiction" problem, it is very random, and some Warthogs have it, others don't. Much the same with the rubber O ring. It is just luck of the draw if your stick's O ring works loose.

So far the silicon replacement from Sahaj, is perfect with no problems. I as yet, don't have the dreaded stiction problem either. :)

I hope that helps!

Kind Regards,

MDS1

Thanks MDS1 for replying. If I can get 1,000 hrs out of mine I'll be happy with that!
