Hi Don, I am sure Pat will fill in, but here are his release notes that seem to indicate there is not a direct correlation.  The CPU setting seems to be looking at bombers and escorts only:

Added CPU Allowance Simple Config
- Accessible from the simple config screen
- Allows you to tone down high CPU mission elements
- Low: One enemy bomber flight.  No friendly bomber flights.  No virtual escorts.
- Medium: One enemy bomber flight.  One friendly bomber flights.  COnfigured max virtual escorts for enemy flights.
- High: CPU allowances not considered.
- CPU allowance config does not affect other configs such as air, ground, and AA.  Also does not impact advanced configs.
- Setting air, ground, AA, and CPU allowance to low gets lightest possible mission.
- Allows for more limits on high CPU mission elements as they are identified.
- If you are low CPU allowance, recommend scrubbing strategic intercepts.

So if i set the virtual scort to 2 in the advance configuration but i set the CPU allowance to low there will be no escorted flight? enemies or allies? Also in the advanced configuration there is only the option of virtual escorts number but it does not specify if they are only enemies or for both sides.

In p47 i have never any missions attacking airfields or trains. Its always bridges, tanks and infantry.

Am i just not getting those missions or are they not there?

Really enjoy it anyway just asking 😄

I asked something similar to this before. As I understand it, the mission builder doesn’t ever give specific targets, but the mission profile doesn’t limit you to a specific target, either. Basically, if it gives you “road and transportation” targets, it’ll generate a target area with trucks, depots, bridges, etc., then you can decide whatever you want to hit from there. With “rail and transportation” it’ll generate a depot and some trains for you to hit, with some trucks for good measure. Again, just head to the target area and have at whatever you like. I’ve never seen it generate a mission targeting an airfield, but if one is close by it’ll have trucks and parked aircraft, hangars and fuel depots for you to hit. It’s fairly open-world as far as targets go, and rewards you for whatever you strike instead of requiring a specific ground target to destroy and failing you if you miss it.  The mission profile just tells you the type of targets it’s going to generate at the location. Once I understood the mission builder this way, I started having a lot more fun in the target area going after whatever I wanted without worrying about “failing” the mission.

Hey, Pat, just wanted to let you know 11.7.2 feels like the best build since I started using PWCG back around 9 or so. Best mix of targets and aircraft, and plenty of action going on even with settings trimmed down for my machine’s performance. Definitely a milestone in your project, in my opinion. Thanks for all you continue to do!

Odd that you are not getting trains.  Might be possible that there are no train stations near your combat area, but I would find that odd too as that part of Europe was littered with train stations.  I am not flying P47s in Europe but I get train attacks regularly.

TBH I am not seeing a lot of airfield attacks either.  Need to check on that.

It's really a 4 man V and not a finger four, but it looks more like a finger four than the echelon.

Nah. He was just a little sucked.

I started an interceptor campaign with the JV44 that has the ME 262 and all the missions have the description of intercepting enemy planes in some location but when I play the mission the only thing my flight companions do is attack ground targets and no enemy planes are seen, with each mission is the same situation (this is on the map of Bodenplatte).
