I just finished the sixth mission - superb work, congratulations! Gorgeous scenarios, balanced fights (own - foreign forces), concise texts to the point, historically referenced missions. Fantastic. This has long been the best contribution to breathe new life this Sim. Whenever you and your team are considering making a commercial available campaign, I will buy it and recommend it to my friends.

I've reworked the mission pack, it is now compatible with game version 2.006:

Great stuff!

Any chance you'll add the new campaign format?

It's fairly easy, just add a number before each mission to make sure they show up in order, and then add images if you want...

As a campaign the missions wouldn't make much sense. There is no cohesive background story, every mission is for another unit and flown from a different airfield. It would be better to create a Sturmovik campaign completely from scratch.

Sturmovik_screen.jpg

I've uploaded my 'Sturmoviks over Stalingrad' mission pack for BoS. There are fourteen missions in the pack for the Stalingrad summer, autumn and winter maps.

Download link:
http://www.axis-and-...ad.php?view.906

Available missions:
01. Armed Reconnaissance (4 August 1942)
02. Attack on Oblivskaya (12 August 1942)
03. Attack the river crossings (22 August 1942)
04. Breakthrough to the Volga (23 August 1942)
05. Close Air Support (20 September 1942)
06. Scramble (11 October 1942)
07. Intercept Mission (15 October 1942)
08. Night Attack (28 October 1942)
09. Convoy Attack (23 November 1942)
10. Attack on Pitomnik (10 December 1942)
11. Combat Trials (12 December 1942)
12. Operation Wintergewitter (18 December 1942)
13. Tanks and Stukas (19 Dezember 1942)
14. Disrupt the Airlift (12 January 1943)

Installation:
1. If you have an older version of the mission pack installed, first delete the old 'Sturmoviks over Stalingrad - by Juri_JS' folder in the Missions directory .
2. Place the 'Sturmoviks over Stalingrad 1.3 - by Juri_JS' folder from the 'Sturmovik1.3.zip file' into the games Missions folder (...Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Missions\).

And some screenshots from the missions:

The addition of VR prompted me to return to BoS after a long absence, and I just discovered your mission pack.  Outstanding!!! What is your source for the historical background of the missions?  Was there a Soviet Il2 equivalent to Hans-Ulrich Rudel who described his missions?  If you ever decide to create a mission pack or campaign for this sim, please sign me up! Thanks again.

What is your source for the historical background of the missions?

Most of the missions are based on events described in "Il-2 Shturmovik Guards Units of World War 2" by Oleg Rastrenin.

Hi Juri_JS, I copied the folder Sturmovik1.3.2 to my  "...\data \ Missions" folder, but after starting the simulator in the missions menu I see only the title of Your folder and no missions appear. I have the version 2.009d of il-2 Sturmovik - Battle of Stalingrad, I miss something ? Thank you.

You need to copy the "Sturmoviks over Stalingrad 1.3 - by Juri_JS" folder to your  "...\data \ Missions" folder.

Hi Juri, Thanks for the answer. I did as you say, but the result is the same. I fear there is incompatibility with my version. Thank you.

It should work in the latest version of the game if you have either the standard or premium version of BoS. Have you checked if any mission files are in this folder "...data\Missions\Sturmoviks over Stalingrad 1.3 - by Juri_JS". There should be nine files per mission.

Unfortunately there isn't much I can do about it. Recognition of successful landings is something that needs to be reworked by the devs.

I've just finished Mission #9 without any problems. So I guess you were just unlucky.

Try to use the correct tactics when attacking flak defended areas. After an attack run escape at low altitude and high speed. Never turn our climb when you are still within the flaks range.

By the way, thanks for the videos. I was finally able to watch the first one after my fast internet connection was enabled today. I had to spend the last weeks with a painfully slow connection after moving to a new town.
