So my dad called me the other day...

Recommended Posts

...and he told me a family friend had just dropped something off at the house so my dad could help her sell it. He asked me if I wanted to come by and look at it. Usually, I would be kind of meh about these things, because usually with my dad it would just be an old power tool or something like that, but this time something told me I should go.

I am glad I did:

My dad said the friend told him it was left outside for a long time, and sadly it looks like it:

Everything inside is in much better condition though!

This reminds me of a holiday I had in France near Royan. The owner of the gite was telling me how when they had their pool installed the builders discovered a large ammunition cache in their garden from small caliber rifle and mg ammunition all the way up to 88mm shells. They were particularly disappointed as their friends were in a similar situation but they got machine guns and rifles (in pristine condition) instead which must have been worth some serious money.

^^^

Eh, I'd pay a lot for an 88mm shell - after it had been rendered harmless, of course :)

Oh good, I've been looking for a large, flat metal object to use as an anvil.
