Jupp's Missions

Recommended Posts

~S~ Everyone,

So I've gotten the bm13 and sfz251 into the mix now, as well as the other heavy artillery pieces, while creating a "tanks only map".

Cannot tell you how fun it is watching those rockets go up in the distance knowing full well they're on their way to level the ground.

I have only started hosting it openly tonight, so play testing the next few days to shake down and out any problems. So far so good!

Here is an example of me being pinned down in a session I'm hosting right now. Can hardly stop laughing at how cool it looks.

I call it, "A Bridge Too Many".

Rocket launchers are awesome to watch firing. Unfortunately we don't see them much in action currently in BoS.

~S~ Everyone,

Happy New Year! Here is my latest, acceptably finished, "study map" of Rocket Launching Vehicles.

Honestly someone asked me if it was a mod... now that is a compliment as "we all know", it is not.

~S~ Everyone,

Work continues. Hosting a nearly completed Multiplayer Map today to shake out the this and that.

Monitoring the Official Teamspeak3 Server of BoS also. Come check out my latest and greatest mission yet.

Look for "Another Open Play Testing Map by Jupp at Veli Veluki" on the Multiplayer Server List.

Sorry No Cake,

~S~ Everyone,

Play testing continues tonight with nearly everything sorted out that only open play testing can reveal.

This is definitely my best work yet, as far as balancing resources with presentation and pace of action.

You escort ai tanks from near your airfield to the city of Nevel. Fly any aircraft, or drive along in a tank.

Both sides missions are available simultaneously, and, if your side's three ai tanks are killed, you lose.

There is a solid mission based two hours or so of multiplayer gameplay from what I've observed so far.

I hope to release this mission, and perhaps with a few variations upon it, sometime this week to be sure!

Look for "Another Open Play Testing Map by Jupp at Veli Veluki" on the Multiplayer Server List. 7pm EST-->

~S~ Skoop,

To that end here's the resaved version of Warground's Mission so that you can just start looking into it. :)

I know the New Wings guys well enough, if there's any question of using their files, blame me. :P

Not that I feel it's necessary, but we at New Wings have no objection to others learning from or modding our missions. We at New Wings strive to support the community where ever we can.

~S~ CRC,

Yes, from the very first post in this thread, I also, have followed suit, to support the community.

In context, "Skoop" wanted to investigate, see learn, how specific things are done, in the Mission Editor.

For reference, he wanted to know how what he saw being done in the New Wing servers, looked like, in the ME.

In that same way, eighteen years ago, I taught myself computing, via modding MS's CFS 1 WW2 ES.

I would not distribute anyone else's work, to anyone else, except for, within the context of learning.

Thank you for your understanding that straight away!

Blue Skies,

Tried Jupp´s In to the Void server last night.

I will be going back to that server for sure. Thanks Jupp!

~S~ URUAker,

Thanks for such a positive post, I am very glad you enjoyed it.

I've nearly finished with the projects enough to post them soon.

The escort mission "Into the Void" rolls into a city battle mission.

That one is called, "Seek and Destroy" after the Metallica song.

~S~ Everyone,

I wish I had had the foresight to see the turns, trends, and trajectories that have happened lately.

I have no idea, if, when, or ever I am going to continue in my efforts. Nor will I pontificate upon it.

I hope I've helped, guided, taught, or encouraged someone, anyone, to learn to teach themselves.

Best Wishes,

You made great contributions, I hope you dont leave us, maybe just a short vacation till things cool down.

A lot of things happened in the last 24 hrs, but we don't know what caused them. Hopefully we learn more about it.

Jupp,

Thanks so much for your invaluable assistance in bringing the manual along and for your love of mission building. I hope to see you again sometime in the "Blue Skies!" of BoS.

All the best!

~S~ Fellows,

Thanks so much for replies. Each of you, I thank you as well, for the very same.

I will leave off for now with it's not any one thing that has caused me to full stop.

As most know, my health has become my prime hobby atm, I may never recover, I do not know.

As far as the simulator, there's been a lot that has changed my enthusiasm, primarily this :

coconut, on 11 Feb 2016 - 02:05, said:snapback.png

In the latest version, the AI (in fighters) has become a lot less aggressive towards human players in multiplayer games (even at ace level, see http://forum.il2stur...-ai/?p=330548).

Is that intentional, or can we expect to get them back to more aggressive levels? Personally I liked the aggressive AIs more. For instance, AI patrols could make it risky for players to wander too far into enemy territory. I understand AI fighters aren't a cornerstone of online gameplay (especially in deathmatches), but it's nice having them available in your toolbox.

It's MP issue and it's not easy to fix (it was before last update for a long time). But we will do it one day.

I had been working on a mission, the best to my abilities yet, when we noticed the lethargic responses of the AI *AC to Human Pilots.

Try as I might I could not surmount the reasons for this. And with Hans reply to Coconut, there goes 100's of hours collectively straight to the crapper.

Yeah, I will of course never entirely abandon this hobby, but creating Player Vs. AI was, is, and always will be THE reason I have stayed with this hobby.

We'll see what comes of the next few months, but until they fix that aspect of this endeavor, again (and my health returning) I am sad to say, I've retired.

Long May You Fly!

Has anyone heard from Jupp lately? Last time I talked to him he wasn't feeling to well.

Chief

Certainly hope he is feeling better, even if he doesn't come back to his once favored hobby.

I haven't heard from him in a while. His disability can be pretty debilitating at times. We had planned to meet up last time I was in his neck of the woods, but it didn't happen. I'll be back up that way in around 3 weeks but I don't know if I'll be successful. Regardless of his gaming/mission writing, I, like everyone else, hope he is doing OK.
