Certainly do! That's excellent. The overall dirt effect is really well done. Any particular secrets? I know there's a lot of weathering products out there now.

You want different?, Here's something a little different.

Pegasus Martian war machine I made, with a custom light system made by a good friend of mine.

Shame you cannot see it but the Heat ray in the cobra head pulses just like the one in the movie.

Cool Mig....Nice.

Yes plenty of schemes for the Warthog or Thunderbolt II dependent on your choice, I always preferred Warthog TBH.

48th sounds nice, In 32nd the weight needed in the nose to balance makes for one heavy model.

Love the whole scene with the mig. I really wish I had time and space to get back into modeling. I had a cool aerial fight hanging from the ceiling in my oldest boy's bedroom when he was little.

Sadly this is a dieing hobby :( when i was a kid we would go down to tom thumb and look at the hundreds of models and dream about buying the HUUUUUUGE kit for building the Bismarck, I had them hanging from my ceiling and sitting on the dresser :) , I don't think there are a lot of kids these days with patience and or interest :(

I love modelling have a collection of around 50 kits iv collected over about 15 years but iv never started partly in fear of mucking them up and because of lack of funds. It's surprisingly expensive to get all the proper kit!!!

Can anyone suggest a good airbrush/compressor that can do the job but won't bankrupt me!?

Loving all ur work!!

Hi Ace.

Thanks for all the compliments.

I bought the AS186 with 3 litre tank through Ebay from The spray gun company a few years back now and have had no complaints.

TBH I had a smaller compressor with no tank that cost me £75 and it could not keep up with the air demand.

You can get the AS186 for around £64, Just put AS186 Air brush in an Ebay search and it will give you many choices..

Shop around on Ebay though as you will see it for more than that in most places.

Some will throw in a cheap Chinese air brush to.

The one I got with mine is excellent for detail work and easy to learn with and very well made, I bought a larger Nozzle air brush for larger areas from an online company called "Little cars" at a model show.

Both are double action Airbrushes and excellent quality.

Honestly though you do not need to spend a lot on a compressor or airbrushes either these days.

Good luck with the modelling, look forward to seeing the results.

Your probably right there Oddball, kids these days want an instant toy, which are available.

I have been making models since I was about 7, I have a break now and then but always seem to come back to it.

I know a few other people my age who make models. I don't think it's dying any time soon :)

Dads with there sons usually pass on the Interest, all my mates make models and have also always done.

Quite right.....even for a big sister..

The P51D has the markings for Short Fuse Sallee and I have the decals for Short Fuse Sallee for the P51C as well. Nice to be able to bring your childhood dreams to fruition when you're an old git!

I have masks and markings to turn the Defiant night fighter into a day fighter as well...that saved a bit!

The joy of things to come! My stash....

What does your wife think of that? :D

Also, I see a Beaufighter Mk VI, nice! I was thinking of buying that years ago.

I think she thinks it's harmless enough! My son joins in by making his own models at the same time, so it works OK.

The beau is lovely. I decided to make the aircraft of some of the pilots whose memoirs I enjoyed, so I have decals for John Cunningham's beau (actually Rawnsley and Wright wrote "Night Fighter" but it will do). Then the two P51s of Richard Turner, Heinz Knocke's 109, Richard Partridge's Skua etc.
