voncrapenhauser 220 Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) Here's 1/24th scale ME109 G2 Trop "Black six" I finished a few weeks ago. Thought some peoples might be interested. Would like to see if any others are budding modellers? Edited December 18, 2014 by voncrapenhauser 4

sallee 543 Posted March 9, 2015 Very nice work. I'm just getting back into it after a brief sabbatical of around 35 years. I'll see if I can get some photos which don't show some of the horrors....
STN 500 Posted March 9, 2015 Don´t worry. There are many horrors to be found on the pictures I posted as well. The only difference between You and me is, that I know exactly where they are And a last one from me for now. 1:72 P-47D Thunderbolt Bubbletop 1

sallee 543 Posted March 9, 2015 Very kind of you. I've built up the kind of stash I could only have dreamed of when I was a nipper, including a duplicate LaGG and Il-2 to have another go at. It's really absorbing and helps to forget some of the stresses of real life! I may never produce anything as good as some of the other stuff I've seen, but I'll enjoy myself trying.

I may not be the right person to give advice, but if You keep up, You will see progress, getting better with every model You finish.

I,m the same with time I'm building a 32" long X wing fighter at the moment.....on and off. Here's a 32" Skydiver model I made and painted like the effects model and sold last year. sallee 543 Posted March 26, 2015 You're a pro! Literally! Still very much on the bench and plenty to do, but things might be coming together....
voncrapenhauser 220 Posted March 27, 2015 (edited) LOL, not a Pro by no means, but been at this game a long time now and still learning new techniques . What's that Sallee?, A blacckburn Roc or Skua? I,m no expert on RN or Fleet air arm aircraft. Looks great though. !/72nd ? Here's some vintage jet too. Revell 1/32nd Hunter. sallee 543 Posted March 27, 2015 Gorgeous Hunter! It's a roc. Ugly brute but I love it. It's 1/72...practising for the 1/48 version. Bit of a thing about rocs and so on at the moment.
voncrapenhauser 220 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) Thought it was a Roc. Nice to see some different and unusual aircraft for a change, I think Blackburn's designs were no ace aircraft(except the Buccaneer) but they all filled a gap and purpose in their time and served well. Nice one. BTW the Revell Hunter kit is a real beauty, I found no vices in this kit which is a rarity. Edited March 31, 2015 by voncrapenhauser
sallee 543 Posted March 31, 2015 Yes, I'm in a FAR mood. Have 1/48 skua, roc and fulmar to do. I think Blackburn must have made some of the ugliest aircraft in the world. The Blackburn blackburn springs to mind. Speaking of kits going together well...I had to trim the gun mount down to get the barrels to fit through the transparency but now they don't fit around the hump in the fuselage behind the turret! STN 500 Posted April 3, 2015 Work in progress. Just managed to screw up the canopy.
No_85_Gramps 206 Posted April 3, 2015 Great looking models! I recently finished off building a spray booth so I can get back to modeling. Have a King Tiger waiting on paint and then maybe a Yak 1 I have.

My Favourite FAA aircraft is the Sea Fury...I had a R/C Fury a few years back too. I cannot remember the last model I built straight from the box without some form of modifications needed. Sorry, Oh yes I can, it was my Trumpeter 1:24th Spitfire 5b....a truly great Model kit....no build problems at all. A rare thing these days.
