Whats wrong with this game?

Recommended Posts

Hello, i`ve been following this game since the Alpha, I bought the pre-release one year before, and been very excited about it,

It looks great, and feels great, but then, the Devs released the Unlocks (Please, dont Ban me, I am not saying that Unlocks are bad, I just saying that I didnt like them) so I stoped playing.

Today, I liked to give it another Roll, Take my Stuka, Boom, some Kiddo on the Base launching bombs every 5 seconds on the Ramp, ok... dont matter, in the 46 this already Happened, no problem

Choosed anothe base, Taking off..... Boom! My tail blown off, some other kiddo entered in my Rear Gunner, forgot that Internet is a crappy site and you cant be Friendly and need to lock the gunner. ok 2 Kiddos on the same server, this starts to smell bad.

we changed the servers.

So finnaly, I managed to take off with my Friends, we blow up a bridge, everything Good, the game rocks now, but ... A yak appeared, he started to lag everytime he was on our sights, he down the 3 of us, and saying that ImpPaint works very good (he was lagging with this key) and said Noobs, I was really Upset, there is not server control? are there even dedicated whitout the neeed to be a megafriend of 777?

There are so many questions now.

Dedicated?

Server control?

Something about mission editor? (training in a public server is not fun for the other players)

I am not saying something bad about the game, I am exposing my Opinion to see what other things, but I like I said before, Internet is a Crappy thing , so I would like to hear opinions in a Polite form.

They were "mission" servers, not Dogfight, but, whatever, we dont have any other thing to play in

Would suggest to take names and report to server admins, nobody want that type of activity

Sad to hear this. I´ve made quite the opposite experience. At one evening, I flew Stuka when I realised that my gunner was occupied. It was a Russian guy whose name I forgot, but he did his job really nicely and flew with me several sorties that evening. At another evening, I witnessed how six He-111 flown by random non-squadron people took off escorted by four 109s. This sounds exceptional, but it isn´t. For every kiddo there are other 20 people doing their very best.

In my opinion it´s often just boredom and the lack of inducement for serious playing. Wait until the people get the dedicated server, BoS-editor and the possibility to set up their own server statistics. This magically cures the people.

Yes, nice answer, is that I was pointing up, I would give another taste when the Dedi is released and my Squadorn has got some server to play in

Yeah, I can't say I've shared your experience; must have just been bad luck.

I can't remember the last time I was teamkilled or anyone did anything stupid like that on a server. Vulching happens occasionally, but that I can bear (and on mission-based servers even understand).

Thats not a good answer, because you intend with the last question that the players are bad.

Furthermore, because in your opinion nothing is wrong, it doesn't mean that there is everything right.

There are some things definetly wrong with this game, otherwise it wouldn't be in the current problematic stage. This is a logical fact, which you can't deny.

In other words, for a bunch of players IL-2:BoS has some major flaws which have a negative effect on the game experiance, it lies on your side Threadstarter, If those issues play a role for you.

what is my real point?

Player "mainly" complains about other players.

what is my real Point? he dislikes the players more than he dislikes the game.

so what do i do: hint that the real problem is the players, not the game.

but...

overreaction, overreaction... beep beep bail out bail out!

i was just joking.

I fly cod and BOS and I see a lot of the same in both places. I prefer bombers, atm there are 4 to 5 spitflyers preferring to camp at a altitude of 6 k and wait for bombers like me to come. and I do and they shoot me down. they do no wrong but they prevent me enjoy a game.

I never fly when I see these dedicated  and good fellows do, I like them , but they manage to do their jobs well that it got no historical references .

This is life in MP server, frustration some joy and frustration.

There are simply only one way to prevent frustration, it is comms and dedicated bomber pilots giving the fighter jockeys something to do, escort.

Without this kind of organization frustration will take the upper hand and start rotating its audience away

Only once, way back in July did someone shoot my tail off in the stuka.

What's frequent for me now, is the gunner will shoot all the ammo and then leave the aircraft.

... Leaving me defensless.

What helps a little bit, is letting your gunner know what you're going to bomb. But most people don't have the patience to stay in a gunner seat for the duration of a bombing sortie.

Happened to me as well Manu,  The kiddo's ( I call them squeakers) are a few here and there, gaming the game and acting like children but don't give up. Not all MP is like that. I've said it for ROF and now for BOS the rear gunner SHOULD be locked by default when you spawn, if someone wants to get in you should get a pop up saying that you deny or accept. I lock my gunners as soon as I spawn in both games and if I forget and see someone in the seat they get kicked right away. Then I type to them "If you want to gun ask first." Its stupid that we spawn unlocked. It should be in the set up screen along with guns a bombs. Allow gunners check or no check. I know GUI programming  is a PITA but come on guys this should be in there...in both games.

I was yesterday flying in Manu's group and saw this with my own eyes. I have a bad feeling & opinion about this game (unlocks, dev's behavior towards community, I am not their "target audience" thing... not matter here anyway) but I let it a second try each 1 or 2 months.

And when I come here I see that behaviour...

Why the bombs are armed by default at mission begins???

What is the point for have fuses if they are armed by default???

If I drop my bombs accidentaly at ramp start I must to sorry and get hate of all pilots dead.

Dev likes a lot limit things in this game, Ok, then they can limit the time that a bomb can explode at minimun altitude or time after take off.

Maybe they can make the tail machine guns unable for damage their own plane.

And limit the times that screenshots can be done in multiplayer. If you want screenshots of multiplayer missions, you can made a track and make screenshots later.

All this... server side optional of course.

+1

I recommended this in ROF ages ago also.  Needed here too.

I have experience from Syndicate and Heavy metal server only. I don't lock the gunner position in my Stuka and I have to say that I had bad experience with the human gunners in one case only (luckily). It was a guy with nick JimE... something, I really can't remember. Me and many other players have the same experience. He always joined the plane as gunner and either shoot down own plane or killed the planes in formation first and than his own plane. So we reported him to server's admins and I haven't seen him on neither of those servers since.

Anyway if you have some problems with human gunners, just lock the gunner's points and you shall be ok.

No full mission builder.

No possible personnal skins in the game.

No unlocks for all planes when the campaign is at a end?

No future!

Is it a player behaviour fault? Definetly. Is it really no gameplay and game decision issue at all? Very debateable.

Rmember the first Syndicate mission launched in EA, it was nothing alike current MP desaster. People acted great as a team, cared for mission objectives and really fought in the air.

Of course there were some buggers and vulchers but they were seriously outclassed by the enviroument of very competetive pilots, thus stayed a minority.

Now it's the other way round more or less. Passionated flight simmers keep distance to the game while new ones get atracted from a different maketing branche causing a noticeably turnpoint ib MP flying.

Also the player number restriction was badly timed and drove another portion of old MPers of.

Whats now left is some great servers with big maps, few player capacities and fleshed by majorly new guys unfamiliar with MP action of professional flight sims.

The side effects are obvious, servers tend to be all about dogfighting and ground vulching since killz is the only thing that matters and buggers prevent serious flight simmers to enjoy MP their passionated way.

I know there are still great people flying out there but I'm just too used to buggers and vulchers ruining each mission that it's hard to enjoy MP flying the way it used to be.

Personally I haven't seen that kind of behavior yet, and the experiences I've had are all positive.

Granted, I don't fly MP much, and when I do it's with the french community, but overall I've been having a great time flying coordinated strikes and fun missions with comrades. And when we run into opposition, it's quite fun and not griefish.

I recently blew someones verticle stabiliser off. I felt so bad I was silent... We finished the mission though.

I can't get the gunner controls to work with my mouse. I have a track IR and I want to be able to use my mouse to move my machine gun and still use my track IR to look around.

Is it possible?

I have the exact same problem. I cannot control the turrets.

Did you two unbind the mouse from pilot\gunner head movement?

If so put it back to default...

You'll still be able to use your Trak IR til you take control of the gun....

That's the only time you'd be using the mouse while flying anyways.

You accidentally unbound something important, go back to default keybinds and start over is what I had to do.
