Brief description:
GUI won't change when spawning in MP

Detailed description, conditions:
In MP, once you select your airfield and loadout, the green button will say SPAWN.

 

Very frequently, when you hit spawn, you can hear the plane spawn but the GUI won't disappear, and the green button will change to SPECTATE in grey. You csn still see the map and airfields, although you can tell by the audio that the plane has spawned because you can hear the activity of the airfield in the background.

 

The solution is to hit spectate and you will be in your plane (playable as pilot).

 

However it would be nice to remove this glitch where the GUI will transition to the pilot view.

There is a bug in DServer.exe where it counts players many times on it's player list. People can't spawn on the airfield then, server shows more people online than it's limit 70/62 e.g.

Brief description: Tank with destroyed turret can still shoot
Detailed description, conditions: I was driving a T34, fighting another player in a PzIII. He destroyed my turret, the game gave a notification that he had destroyed me. However I was still able to shoot and inflict damage.

Have an interesting bug I've never seen before: Server just restarted for Wings of Liberty. It was already having issues with not registering "kills" but upon restart with a new mission I hadn't selected a side or field yet and I had my last plane setup button available. When clicking it, it put me into what I guess is the external boundaries of the configuration hangar. I'll add screenshots later.

Brief description: Gunner not talking and not responding to orders

Detailed description, conditions:

-Unable to give them any order like "hold your fire" "Engage at long distance" ... 

-They will never talk, even if there is fighters and fire at them.

 

When it happens?

Around 50% chance on happening on multiplayer server like Wings Of Liberty, Random Expert, Tactical Air War

 

I am the only one to have this bug?

No. It happens to others players as well.

110G-2 anomaly within fakefield plane dialog box.

 

Detailed description, conditions:
110G-2 additional models are being shown within dialog box.
When editing the 110G-2 aircraft model changes after closing dialog box and then saving mission.
Screens below show progression.

One of several possible causes for recent stuttering following v.2007.

Brief description: Trains passing destroyed bridge

Detailed description, conditions: bombed a Bridge (Moskow-map, 0617,3 or 0618,1) on training-server, train heading N went right over the gap in it's track

Brief description: Plane gun sounds in airfield

Detailed description, conditions: It looks like the gun sounds of planes that are flying are heard back in the base where they spawned in MP. I have been alone multiple times in airfields and hear plane gun sounds that are not of AAA. It looks like the gun sound of a plane which is km away can be heard as if it was coming from its spawn point.

I have seen this in Wings of Liberty.

Brief description:

Dserver jams at random intervals

 

Detailed description, conditions:

At random intervals, the Dserver starts acting weird with the following symptoms:

- Some, but not all actions stop on the server, including: can't spawn new planes, AAA may stop firing, map icons stop updating, ground objects may become invulnerable... Players that are in their planes can still fly and shoot eachother normally.

- New players cannot join the server.

- Dserver stops writing mission log files (our server's functions rely on them).

 

The Java command software running on our server sends us admins an email whenever the Dserver stops writing the mission log files. Our server, the "Finnish VirtualPilots - Dynamic War" has jammed 25 times in the last 45 days (...that we have email logs of, the problem itself has been there for years now). Sometimes days can go by without trouble. Last night we had 2 jams just 40 minutes in between.

 

We have been unable to pinpoint the time of jam to any special event on the server. It seems totally random. There is no indication of any trouble in the Dserver log files.

Brief description: Remote console team chat requires client id

Detailed description, conditions:

According to the documentation for the remote console, the chat command has the following format:

 

cmd: chatmsg roomtype id Message to send
response example: STATUS=1
    roomtype 0 - All
    roomtype 1 - Client Id
    roomtype 2 - Coalition
    roomtype 3 - Country

In previous versions of the game, a command "chatmsg 0 -1 hello" would send "hello" to all players. This no longer works, now it returns "STATUS=9", the error code for RCR_ERR_UNKNOWN_USER

The problem is that the parameter "id" makes no sense when you want to send to all, and should be ignored for room type 0, as it used to be.

EDIT: A work-around is to use "chatmsg 0 0 hello" instead.

Brief description:  Using Manage SDS within the DServer GUI software locking some Difficulty Settings.
Detailed description, conditions: Navigation Icons are being forced on when using the DServer GUI Manage SDS within the .sds file. Have manually changed the file using notepad but this Difficulty Setting is always being forced back on if the DServer GUI is used. Tested with a back-up .sds file and the problem does not occur provided I don't use the DServer GUI to Manage the SDS.

No sir.

As soon as locked loadouts and/or weapon mods are activated on the server, we see fancy issues with locked loadouts all over the place, for both "old" and "new" planes in 3.001, where everything was working fine and dandy in 2.012 before.

This isn't even consistent among subsequent sorties.

I haven't reported it so far 'cause I've yet to figure the precise pattern of this issue, but it's definitely not related just to the "new" planes.

Brief description:  Locked Loadouts for some players in multiplayer server, unlocked for some
Detailed description, conditions:  Upon selecting a plane in WoL server, my ordnance/options loadouts were completely unlocked for the selected aircraft.  For wingmen on comms, the same selected plane was completely locked.  If wingmen selected the same aircraft on a different field, however, and came back to the original, their loadouts became unlocked as well. A possible difference we discussed is that they had previously checked the "Don't show me again" warning on the Locked Loudouts pop-up that occurs during plane selection, whereas I had not.   It was not clear if the loadouts were supposed to be locked by mission designer, or if they were supposed to be unlocked.

Brief description: Dedicated Server CPU usage goes through the roof, especially with AI planes on a mission
Detailed description, conditions: On Version 2.012d, for instance a mission which used 10-15 AI fighters and 4 AI bombers in formation on each side (18-23 AI planes in total), together with lots of ground action, caused a CPU load of 10-15% (measured on single core). Resulting SPS was 50, Tick Delay close to 0.

On Version 3.001, the same mission causes 15% CPU before planes spawn already, and as soon as the first AI planes spawn, the CPU usage reaches 75-80%, resulting SPS is still 50, but Tick Delay is 15 and the server is at the edge of stalling.

Using a test mission (see attachment) with just 8 AI bombers (4 on each side, in formation), we get these results:
Version 2.012d CPU load 1-3%, Tick Delay close to 0.
Version 3.001 CPU load 25-30%, Tick Delay 7-8. That's just 8 AI planes and the server is under heavy stress already!

Maybe that routine that Han showed used to work, but prior to 3.01 it did not.  Our squad has been running the same practice mission we snagged off another server for months now, and all stock and all custom skins have been available in the mission.  After 3.01 all custom skins were locked, and only the first 7 stock skins were available, all the rest would be locked.  And most weapons mods were locked.  Only way to get our squad skins and all the loadouts back was to go back to mission editor, and blank out the lines for all the planes on all the airfields in the missions.

Hi!

 

No one can connect when I host with the new cooperative game mode. Don't have a router. My outbound Windows Firewall out connections are all allowed, inbound has these rules for Il-2.exe:

My server can be seen by others, but nothing happens when they try to join.

 

Others in our squad have tried with the same results. Please advice: a bug, or what are we doing wrong? Thank you in advance.

After the recent update I noticed a lot of servers at 0 ping, and whenever I try to join wings of liberty I am forced back to the main menu!

I am running the steam version of the game.
There were no signs of this issue previously.

Almost ever server is at 0 ping.

When trying to join a server that has ping I am forced back to the main menu.

Brief description: Dserver custom difficulty settings will not keep spectator selection.

Detailed description, conditions:

When difficulty settings is opened the spectator box is unchecked. When I check it and save and close the sds it loses that setting (checked by editing the sds in Notepad++). If I hand edit it to 'true' then load it in the Dserver and select difficulty settings the 'allow spectator' tick is there but if I then Save and Close and reload it the tick has disappeared OR if I check it in Notepad++ it has change to false. Also, even if I don't open custom settings but just load the sds and then save and close the 'allow spectator' changes to false.

 

When it happens?

Every time I save the sds

 

I am the only one to have this bug?

Brief description: Trigger Checkzone not working for player-controlled planes in dogfight missions when running server from within the client
Detailed description, conditions:

In the attached mission, The checkzone should trigger a message in the upper left corner when a Russian plane enters, AI or player-controlled.

Steps:

 

Start mission using DServer

Join game

Spawn in a p39 in the air, flying SW towards a check zone

Wait a minute or so

A message "Checkzone triggered!" appears in the upper left corner. This is the expected behaviour, consistent with pre 3.001

 

Repeat the steps above, but starting the mission from the client instead

No message appears in the upper left corner

Brief Description: Invisible labels on the map in multiplayer missions

 

Detailed description, conditions:

The attached mission has three icons. Icon1 and Icon2 have icon type "None". Before 3.001, the text of these icons would appear on the map at the location of the icon.

Since 3.001, the text is no longer visible. Apparently, one must pick a visible icon to make the text visible. There are cases, however, when no icon type is applicable, e.g. to mark a region.

On my server, I use these labels to show how many tanks are present in a region of the map, but I don't want to show the exact location of the tanks, and an icon is therefore not desirable.

I've tried running steam or client version same results
There were no signs of this issue previously
Forced back to the main menu on large file conditional servers.

Additional Assets:
-Opened Ports to Firewall

-Disabled the firewall

-Created a New User profile

-Removed IL2 and installed the Non-steam web version of IL2

-Cleared and reconfigured all my user settings (Including re-mapping Joystick configs etc.)

-Forwarded my Ports on my router

-Set a static IP Address

-Went Over my Router config with my Chief Intelligence Officer at work

-Tested My Ports to verify they were correctly opened

-Stole a Windows 10 Pro Key and SSD from Work

-Installed Windows 10 on the SSD

-Installed Steam and Tested IL2 on Windows 10 (Reminisced why I hate windows 10 again)

-Attempted to connect using only WIFI

Brief description:

 

Patch: After 3002b. Coop missions bugs. 


Detailed description, conditions:  

 

Gunners in bombers respond to cammands given (eg engage close/far, fire at will) but do not do anything when enemies are in their sites.

 

Orders towards AI pilots do not appear even thow they belong to the group and they follow the leader.

 

Switching to a gunner position of another pilots plane after pressing Finish Mission results for the pilot to enter the friendly aircraft gunner position with a spinning circle at the center of screen the message Please Whait displaying and no other action can take place, evrything is locked , key presses etc.

Brief Description:

MP. As host I cannot see any human player. All humans planes, see themselves but no IA nor me

 

Detailed description, conditions:

MP mission Dog or Coop. When I launch it, I can see IA planes but only see my plane. I cannot see any human player. All humans planes, see themselves but no IA nor me. Every human sees every other but not me. And Triggers are not shoot by player only by me.  Every time I start mission same issue. If same mission is launched by a mate, all is fine and I don't have any problem joining or playing it. I was ussing Steam and changed to standalone game and same issue.  It did in V2 and V3 game. Logs doesn't give any clue.

Brief description: Multiplayer server listing is blank for both COOP and dogfight
Detailed description, conditions: It worked 2 days ago however when i turned it on yesterday the MP listing was blank. I've tried restarting my pc and verifying my data without any issues.

Black screen in multiplayer

on WOL server, at the end of mission and map transition, just after the players stats and end of countdown, i have a black screen with the mouse cursor apparent, nothing else. no response from the game whatever the time wait, i have to kill the process by task manager and restart the game, and reconect to the server

black screen in mp , sp works but entering any mp server lead to a blackscreen , with sound and mouse cursor but nothing else .

Only solution to get out is killing process in  task manager .

Appears right after update 3.002c .

I have reinstalled the whole game since and the problem is still there ...

Brief description: Search light/Land light shutting off prematurely
Detailed description, conditions: Dawn, land lights shut off before sun is above horizon. I am running a dawn mission on Oct 2, 1941 in Moscow and light beams shut off at 6:37 am. The lights still show lit up, but the beam on the ground disappears, like the light shuts off. Enemy searchlights do not turn on, but enemy AA will fire. Seems to be an issue within the last two or three weeks, so maybe something happened in 3.002. Mission worked flawlessly before, with searchlights active until past 7 am, when the sun was fully up.

Brief description: WYSINAWOGANIM: What you see is not always what others get, at least not in Multiplayer 😎.
Detailed description, conditions: Played a Dogfight mission on the FAC Server yesterday.

My Teammate Skylla tried to attack a russian train with his Ju-87, but right when he got to the point where he had liked to start his dive, 61K AAA put some rounds into his Ju-87 and PK'ed him.

That was the true story.

From my point of view (watching on externals), there was no AAA shooting at all.

Instead, all of a sudden the gunner of Skylla's Ju-87 disappeared, together with large parts of the aft cabin, in a way that I could look through several 3D parts from the inner side (reverse normals seem to have no faces here). Split seconds later also the pilot disappeared, and another half a second later the whole plane suddenly vanished, several seconds before Skylla actually decided to finish his sortie and respawn.

Brief description: Default payload is always available in Multiplayer regardless payload/mod restrictions (Version 3.003).
Detailed description, conditions: When you limit available mods and payloads on Multiplayer, regardless what settings you choose, the default (index 0) payload will always be available.

In the attached sample you see an Fw-190 A-3 limited to mods 1 and 2 (SC-50 and SC-250) and payloads 1 and 2 (4xSC-40 or 1xSC-250 accordingly) in the mission editor.

Server uses custom realism, Lock Payload and Lock Modification are both enabled.

Nevertheless as you see in the second screenshot, it's possible for players to deselect all bombs and fly with "default" index 0 payload that way.

The same comes true for any other plane, as reported elsewhere already.

Brief description: Airfield spawns from previous mission "leak" to next mission
Detailed description, conditions: When the mission rotates and the next mission uses the same map (e.g. Moscow) but airfield spawns are in different places, the airfield spawns from the previous mission are shown in the mission. When these previous mission airfields are clicked, no plane selection opens.
Your PC config data (OS, drivers, specific software): Replicated with multiple client PCs on different players, OS Windows 7 and 10. Dserver running Windows 10 Pro, Dual Intel Xeon X5680 processor.

Brief description:

Joining as gunner in COOP locks all inputs


Detailed description, conditions:

If one joins as gunner or becomes a gunner in the coop mode, he enters the station but all inputs get blocked by the "please wait message". 

The gunner which that player becomes is still under control of the AI, there is no way to give IL2 BOS any keyboard, joystick or mouse commands, for example neither the gunners controls nor the escape menu are usable. 

This bug only occurs if one presses the "become gunner" button, pilots can cycle through their gunners station in COOP.

The bug has occurred to multiple people.
