Yes.. same observation for me.

In replay mode, sound occlusion no longer works and we hear all the sounds of the external view in internal view.

Brief description: sounds unbalanced, missing individual settings

Detailed description, conditions:

The sound of the engine, during the flight, is so loud with normal volume settings that it's deafening. It is actually harmful for the users if used for more than 5 minutes, which is usually the case for a normal game.

It is impossible to even hear there is a radio transmission with version 3.008, in flight (on the ground it's possible). Before that, it was possible to hear some noise but it was impossible to understand it.

There should be separate volume controls for the radio and the rest of the world, thus identical conditions to pilots who have helmets.

Additionally, the exterior sound (F2 key, for ex) is much lower, even if the distance is very short.

=> is it possible that the sound settings are inverted between views?

In any case it's very uncomfortable and unrealistic.

Is it on all types of aircraft? Or on the specific plane?

The WW1 types, 109 and yesterday it was the I-16, it did not try all of them but I think all the planes.

If you have an specific plane in your mind let me know so I will test it.

Brief description:

I also have the sound silencing problem.

Detailed description, conditions:

It varies, it is in Tank crew in a tank, and also for planes, but I do not know if it was also in the TC map.  It is strange because not all sound stops at the same time.

The sounds involved: gun/cannon, some times it comes back a bit later for a few seconds but then is goes silent permanent. The radio stops also at some time. The engine noise stops also.

So it is not all sounds stopping at the same time. Only way to get it back is restarting the game.

I only play SP.  Sometimes logged in, sometimes not. In one case I can remember it was while I was logged in. I first thought it was a medical thing because it was just after a full hit on my Tiger that killed a  crew member and so damaged the ears of the rest. But a while later it happened to a plane too.

It does happens not very often.

Brief description: Loosing Sounds in Me-262
Detailed description, conditions: When you are close to planes/vehicles/objects, you loose the sounds of the plane, such as Breathing sounds, External engine sounds. The only sounds that still work are Weapon and wind effects.

Note for the track: It is only a "short" track in which you can hear, as soon as I get close to the enemies, the sound start to disappear step by step. Once far enough, they come again.

I have the same problem with the 262 sound ..engines sound disappeared on the left side ..than sometime s on the right side ..or both at the same time ..than the sound is back for a short moment ..

direct after spacing into the game ..with 109 k4  everything is ok ..will test other planes next days.

Sound problems  are there with vr Index speaker and sound from rtx card  and with a normal soundblaster z card  and headset.

Brief description: VR - prop spinning is unnoticeable
Detailed description, conditions: When you're in VR mode, look at the spinning prop. It doesn't react to changes in rpm speed, it displays as a still disc. Same with the prop spinner. Best way to reproduce it to first launch the game in non VR mode and check how prop and spinner react to rpm changes, especially when you turn off the engine - watch ho it changes it's speed. And then repeat that in VR mode with the headset on - you will notice the issue. This issue has been noticed by several VR users.

Version 3.201

if you move your head in P-51D to the side (maximal position with head in contact with canopy glass) with closed canopy, you hear wind like with open canopy. I doubt that P-51D canopy is so holey, wind should not be heard.

Brief description: The old sound bug is back, from the Stalingrad days. No impact sounds on your own craft whatsoever.

Detailed description, conditions: Happened in MP, various servers, not tested it in SP so far. First I thought it was related to the completely silent 262 as we got intercepted by them multiple times and never heard them shoot, their engines or their bullet impacts on our planes. Then I fought various 109s and had the same issue. Yet during the same fight I heard one set of impacts and I think it was from a 190, for what it's worth. Going by their nose shapes they were all new models, so Kurfürst and Doras, but that's hard to verify for me after the fact.

Identical issue(s) for user @Leifr

Suggestion.... could you please fix the sound on the P40? Most planes sound great so I know I don't have an issue with my sound card, but compared to all the other planes, the P40 has almost no engine sound at all. Exterior view, the engine is very quiet, like a sewing machine, and interior, the engine sound is almost non-existent, just wind. The P40 was actually a very loud aircraft. Here's a couple samples.

Since the last update I noticed that I don't hear any sound when beeing shot by bandits.

I see tracers and bullets on my wings and generally it's too late. I didn't had this issue before. And as I am playing in VR this is really difficult and frustrating.

I know I am not the only one in this situation, but I find strange that no info came from the devs since the last patch.

Brief description: Irritating Sound when facing the engine
Detailed description, conditions:

Imagine a line going from the engine trough the pilot head towards the rudder/tail. Anytime your view (pilot head view) is aligned with this line (looking through front window or looking at tail), I hear a strange noise like a little extra engine running, but a lot less beefy and more like a sawing machine.

If you turn your head 90° to any side (like looking over your wing) the irritating sound disappears. So far I think it is in a 45° cone from the aforementioned line between engine and tail. You turn more than 45° away from the engine, and the irritating sound is gone and you only hear the normal engine (as I was used to prior to the patch). You turn farther to look at your tail and the sound appears again.

Please help, this makes playing single-engine planes almost impossible for me.

A note: in the bf110E I do not have this phenomenon, maybe because it is a two engine plane. I have tested this with a couple of one-engine planes so far and will update my post, if I find a one-engine plane without this effect!

Brief description:

In game version 3.201 Radio communications from ground and other aircraft not loud enough in comparison to engine sounds to hear in P-38 J25

Detailed description, conditions:

Whenever RPM is over 1000-1500, engines drown out sound of radio to the point that you cannot hear the voices of the ground controller or other pilots. In ground controlled missions, it is important to hear directions from spotter and that is not possible. One has to rely on the text message to understand directions. With headphones on,  voices should be louder in comparison to engine sounds.

Brief description: missing screenshot format

Detailed description, conditions:

The screenshots are saved in .bmp, which takes a lot of disk space and is not allowed in the forums here. I haven't seen any settings to change that to a more decent JPEG or another compressed format. Perhaps there is an entry to change in a .cfg file but it's not clear nor documented.

Brief description: lot of 'pop' noise and currupted sound of distant planes (like dithering but applied to sound)

Detailed description, conditions:

For example after landing, once the engine is shut donw, the user can hear the sound of other airplanes still in the pattern.

Those sounds have been corrupted in the latest updates. They don't fade in and out gracefully but with popping bursts of noise.

I had never heard that before (perhaps before version 4?), it's very irritating to the ear.

Additional assets (videos, screenshots, logs): none

Your PC config data (OS, drivers, specific software):

IL-2 version 4.003b

The sound card is a Sound Blaster Z (I don't have those popping sounds anywhere else)

In-game sound settings are basic so I doubt they're relevant, they are still the same as in my previous problem report:

It's still there in 4.004, it's more obvious with the Tempest than the other planes, but I heard it yesterday with P-51s flying around before landing.

With the Tempest, it's annoying enough that I prefer to stop the game immediately after landing.
