Brief description: Stalingrad map textures and trees.

Detailed description, conditions:

Looking at dozen available photos from war period near Stalingrad, I have strong impression that near all land is just steppe, undeveloped agricultural space,no small fields and very rare trees (except near rivers), for sure no trees on every road. Stalingrad map textures and trees could be redone for historical authenticity.

Except above, textures quality could be bring up to those used in Kuban map since it's basic version and reflect how whole game is perceived.

Brief description:


Lights can be seen through the plane (Yak1b)


Detailed description, conditions:In the actual version 2.012d the tail formation light from the Yak1b can be seen through the plane itself. Kuban map, custom mission. Not only me, more members of the squadron with the same plane also experienced this bug.

Brief description: in Kuban map, the road section below the player plane is not displayed in part of the Liman Bugazskiy strait.
 

Detailed description, conditions: quick mission, flying low along the strait in sectors 0912-0913 of the Kuban map, the section of road right below the player plane is not shown (missing road portion advances with player).

Brief description:

Texture issue
Detailed description, conditions:

There seems to be a missing texture on some cables inside the cockpit of M.C.202. Either that, or it's apparently too low-resolution. The same texture is used on both the cables that run along the left and right side of the cockpit.

Kotluban city at the wrong place

Detailed description, conditions:

Kotluban city isn't at the same place in winter than in summer/autumn map. According to the briefing map, in winter the city is 10km away from where it should be.

Brief description:

 

Sun glare is only rendered if right eye has direct line of sight to sun.

Detailed description, conditions:

 

Happened on the 5th mission of Ten Days Of Autumn

 

If right eye can't see sun because it's blocked by cockpit, then the left eye will have no sun glare.

 

If left eye can't see sun, but right eye can - then both eyes get sunglare.

Brief description: Vehicle falls under the ground

Hoping this is the right place:

 

Brief description: Hs-129 mirror has wrong position

 

Detailed description, conditions: Hs-129 mirror when the pilot sits in the normal place in the cockpit points directly back into the cockpit. In order to see behind you with it, you have to duck down and lean forward, making it very difficult to use.

Brief description: Contrails disappearing under certain angles.

Detailed description: Contrails might disappear when viewed near the edge of the screen. It mostly seemed to happen when looking up at close range.

Environment: IL-2 version 3.001, Win7 x64

graphics set on Ultra's default settings, clouds set to high

 

Brief description: no clouds / blue sky when it's raining

 

Detailed description:

- quick mission, Kuban map, weather to "overcast" (there is no detail way to set the weather unfortunately)

=> rain visible outside and on the cockpit / goggles, but there is no cloud (at least no stratus or cumulus, only a light higher "decorative" layer), which makes it unrealistic. See screenshot below.

 

EDIT: before this bug is acknowledged, quickly adding that this changes with the cloud base, so perhaps the problem is that the cloud base is too high to be visible and a blue sky is shown instead?

Brief description:

Leaving A-20 gunner position in multiplayer doesn't "clear" the gunner slot.

Detailed description, conditions:

Gunner position remains occupied under player's nickname. Later, I also left the top gunner, which caused both gunner positions to lock (nobody could enter them, plane didn't appear on Become Gunner list).
Multiplayer dogfight server, gunner in player flown aircraft, Kuban map.

Brief description: Exhaust flame animation on A-20 runs when the engine quits in flight.

 

Detailed description, conditions: Haven't flown A-20 yet, but looking at the video below it seems that even when the A-20's engine stops in flight after combat damage and doesn't windmill (propeller feathered), the exhaust flames animation of that engine is still active, as if the engine was running.

I can't confirm now if the same glitch happens with non-damaged engine turned off in flight.

Brief description: Missing shadows


Detailed description, conditions: Depending of the angle you look at the canopy shadows on the plane (Me 100 E2) part of it is disappearing/appearing. The canopy itself was intact.

Brief Description : Glitching Textures in Kuban Autumn Gelenedzhik 3 Airfield

 

Detailed Description: Ground textures on Northern edge of Airfield (adjacent to the three hangars) change constantly from one type to another. Spotted on patched game. Uninstalled game and fresh install. MODSOFF. No Reshade.  Glitch still apparent.

Brief description: 

 

Position of A20 bomb door lights changes by 20m with zoom level


Detailed description, conditions:

 

When fully zoomed out the lights used on an A20 to indicate that the bomb doors are open show as being about 20 metres below the aircraft.  As you zoom in the lights raise up until they are in the correct place then as you zoom out they lower again.

Brief description: A-20 scope gunsight model of dorsal gunner got bugged in 3.002 update.

Detailed description: go to dorsal gunner's station in A-20, activate the gun and lean to the scope sight. It seems that external bracket 3D models of the scope are visible through the sight now, as seen on the attached screenshot. The glitched appeared after the 3.002 update, and is visible in single player at least (cannot confirm if it affects MP as well).

Brief description: fuel gauge of Yak-1 and Yak-7b very difficult to see
 

Detailed description, conditions:

It is very difficult to read those gauges because they are not in the sight of the pilot, the user has to try and lower the head then recenter the TrackIR view, then stretch the neck a lot in order to see a part of the gauge. This problem does not exist with the Yak-1b, would it be possible to update the Yak-1 and Yak-7b in the same way?

Brief description: When viewing a flight recording some markings will stay on the ground after you "rewind."
Detailed description, conditions: I was watching a replay of a mission from the career mode where one of my wingmates crashed into the ground. After I "rewound" the replay to watch the crash again I noticed that the markings were still on the ground. Exiting the recording and starting it fresh fixed it.

 

My graphics settings were balanced.

Not sure if the following issue has already been reported. Here is what I noticed:

 

Brief description: Multiplayer - Mission begin map view
Detailed description, conditions: When hovering over a friendly airfield one could see how many player actually are on the airfield,

hovering over enemy airfield gave no result (which is correct) and up to update 3.001 the way it should work. Now since 3.001 it is

the opposite, which is completely silly.

Brief description:  Co-pilot right thumb, clips steering wheel
Detailed description, conditions: The thumb on the co-pilot's right hand, goes through part of the steering wheel. This applies for both level flight and when the aircraft is sitting idle on the ground. While I could imagine the odd clipping during drastic manoeuvres, the reported problem applies to the default, level-flight state. Probably could be fixed by raising the entire co-pilot model by 1 cm (we wouldn't notice a 1cm gap at the feet, but the hands are really obvious).

I have been creating a new 4K template and normalmap for the Yak-7b and noticed large parts of Yak-7b model are missing normal map texturing effect (including)

  • All wooden and canvas areas
  • Large metal panels on underside
  • Control surfaces
  • Rear fuselage area

 

See screenshots for examples.  Metal dents are exaggerated for effect and should cover the entire aircraft.

Brief description:  Silica gel pellets item to prevent condensation in Bf 109G-6 and Bf 109G-14 is placed far too high on the windscreen compared to real life and limits visibility when it shouldn't.
Detailed description, conditions: In all available photos of Bf 109G i have found this item is placed far lower than we have in the game.

Brief description: Compass in the A-20b has rain in front of it.
 

Detailed description, conditions: When flying the A-20b in rainy weather or clouds the compass is obscured by rain as if it was outside the cockpit.

Brief description: German torpedo boats are unable to fire flares.


Detailed description, conditions: German torpedo boats can't fire flares correctly. Sometimes no flare is visible, but I've also seen, that flares are fired directly into the water. So the bug might be that flares are fired downwards, not upwards by German torpedo boats.

 

Additional assets: Attached test missions with German and Soviet torpedo boats. Both use the same fire flare commands, but only the Soviet boat is correctly firing flares.
