I cant launch the game now. I keep getting the message #100006 Invalid Checksum.

 

Does anyone know what could cause this? Game was working fine yesterday (even after x2 compression etc update)

Steam seems to be updating as well, 1.5GB.

I hope they put it back in cos right now, I'm working a heck load of hours and nothing is gonna change in the near future. I bearly have time to play any of my games and this game wont get a lookin over others because of this.

So to sum up for me, scrap the unlocks idea because its clearly "console-itus" infecting the minds of pc game developers.

Wait until tomorrow, full changelog will follow when the usual fuss about "my game won't start" has died.

But why change tradition and give the community an early hint about a new update. Too easy to accomplish maybe? ;)


Hopefully, I don't want people exploiting that x2.

I don't like to have to unlock things in SP just to play with all options in MP.

I managed to unlock some of the most important updates for the planes that I like to fly with before this update by using the X4 Mode / Autopilot.

I don't even find the campaign interresting....

 

Intercept mod :

 

Fly to the bombers waypoint

Damage one of them (the only surprise we have is the number of bombers that you will encounter).

Mission Won

Go back to the Exit point

Finish the mission

If you are trying to kill all enemy planes you risk to have 0 XP point if you get killed or damage, so why bother ?

 

When you go to other chapter, the only thing changing is the time you have to encounter the bombers.

 

 

This sucks !

Go to the official 1C site, translate it from russian yourself and tell us. ;)

Else wait and see (and test yourself), like we all have to do. :P

Flying campaign on normal, I still seem to have the yellow aim-assist icon. 

EDIT: But not always, apparently. Seems to only happen if I load rockets.

Just tested a2a LaGG-3 vs. He-111, no aiming help as per default. No red ring, nothing. Only the (red) enemy marking icons.

EDIT:

 

Change log for today's update:

 

- Landings are now rewarded correctly
- Aim helper for fixed armament was removed on Normal difficulty
- Escort added to the Bombing the bridge mission
- The player and the wingmen should now be loading simultaneously
- The bug with the survived vehicle in the Attacking the convoy mission was fixed
- The bomb raid mission is now only possible at no or low clouds and little wind
- In the Interceptor mission player now has to take down or damage two bombers as required
- In the Convoy (short) mission a player is now correctly spawned behind the bombers and sees them properly
- In Campaign the short version of mission is now offered as default
- AA search lights are no longer active in day time

 

NOTE that you don't need to download a fresh installator anymore if you did that after last Friday.

Sorry but if you don't play MP and enjoy SP more, what do you care what loadouts or skins people use in MP ? I fail to understand your logic

For the last 10 years or so I've only flown MP be it DF, USL, squad coops etc. I'll dabble in SP to test controls and the like but that's it. And I still don't get the furore over this. Personally I'd rather have a default skin hopefully making people assume I'm new to the game.

 

I'll play the single player to learn the aircraft and as a consequence will get the unlocks. That's how I'm looking at it anyway.

Hey, folks, stop debating about unlocks, MP and SP point of views. We're at 90%. A lot can happen until November.

Let's hope this latest, huge debate will be the last. Fronts cleared for the time being, now let's wait and see.

I dont want to be testing generic campaign until devs promisse that my progress (my time) invested in game that I already paid for, will keep its value.

AFAIK devs already promised, that your (our) time invested into campaign will be flushed down the toilet on release date. And since they changed from "listening to comunity" to stubborn mules, I don't see them changing their decision.

Flying campaign on normal, I still seem to have the yellow aim-assist icon. 

EDIT: But not always, apparently. Seems to only happen if I load rockets. 

 

Fyi, you can disable that entirely with R-CTRL i .

But would have to at the start of each mission, like changing the cem to manual.

So far I've gotta say I've enjoyed playing in 3d (3d set to low/off and conv set with crtl f5/f6).  Hope this next update takes smoothly.

We're attentive, listening mules then. It was stated by Loft long ago that he's making the game in the certain way he sees it. So we keep listening. And keep doing what we're doing.

I guess only time will tell if the gamble pays off. I do hope it does, and wish you luck.

Even if i personally do not like the recent developement steps taken, i despise the way dev`s and customers are talking to each other right now.

Might be time to calm down for all of us and show some patience....

Agreed. Patience and faith. As upsetting as these new developments are, what came before them was masterful, I've still got faith that they'll make the right moves pre-release.

Sigh ... I've kept quiet up to today. I like all of us work, 40-50 hrs a week, school teacher. My wife and I have a severely handicapped 21 yr old, 3 years of age cognitively, constant care 24-7.

 

Sometimes I feel my three children are a lot of work, then I read things like that...

 

But yes, most adults have a fairly busy day, and perhaps an hour or two to spend on other things. This also includes time for other social activity, like spending some quality time with my better half or friends. In old IL2, I used the speed up time and auto pilot function quite a lot.

I so want to believe that. Because I agree, that the sim itself is a masterpiece of coding and design. Whatever issues there are with FM can certainly be ironed out in time. That's why I think that BoS deserves so much better than what's happened these last few days.

 

Please devs: Let it be true that you listen to and act on these concerns.

Now we just need a napalm drop on the whole place to complete it.

 

For a genre that is dying in its niche of a niche....it is utterly amazing to me to see the steps that the Devs have taken to incorporate what seems to be the worst of all from the various alternatives out in the market....and at a premium price point!

 

  • Unlocks...like we are grinding through a "free to play" or "freemium" title...but at the price point there is nothing free about this title.....and several folks have already mentioned the intangible and the elephant in the room -- TIME --- and how we all don't have the same amount of time in order to get at the "features" that ostensibly we thought we were buying when we ponied money up front for this title
  • Compared to past titles customizations and others within the genre --- a lot of lock down or in short....this is the way we want you to play the game --- yep folks this is a game --- and it's our way or the highway!
  • Playability killing Bugs --- the game stutters....and I have a high end machine......for the unprecedented high price for this title....I expect one thing above everything else...it should be silky smooth and as bug free as any flight sim can be --- shadows and shades of IL2COD and IL2 original stutters are here....and now at twice the price and while containing a fraction of the content.  I for one am not willing to go back in time and repeat the days or weeks spent "tweaking" my machine so that it does not stutter (a fatal flaw in any real-time flight sim).

 

Amazing....this is the way to put a stake into the heart of what is left of the genre. Take away stuff that people liked (customization), while introducing stuff from other alternatives people wanted to buy themselves out of (unlock grinds), while keeping the playability bugs!

Sounds like your saying "we'll listen but we'll still only do what we want to do".

I think thats a pretty bold move considering, the current price, only having half of the original IL2 community since the Clod debacle disheartened a lot of people.

@skullbisquit: Don't know where you're getting the stutters from mate. BoS has been rock solid on my 3 year old system since day one, and I run graphics on "Ultra" with all the bells and whistles.

 

You do have something of a point on the other 2 issues, but I still think you're overly pessimistic pronouncing a patient dead who hasn't even been born yet.

SkillBiscuit has some fair points (stutters aside...those seem an anomaly)....i.e. the bizarre lowest common game-play choices.

 

I'm also baffled. No angry or bemused...just baffled.

 

And it's this apparent eleventh-hour change of attitude (and tone) that gives me pause for thought....

Honestly, i just don't understand the general direction this game has taken in the last 2 weeks. I have been following it since last year and played my fair bit of it as well using a borrowed account. Either the devs understand that people came here looking for a SIM and base their design choices on that, instead of making War Thunder 2.0, or lose most of their player base. I was about to purchase my own account so i could fly with my squad here, but i just won't pay 90 dollars for all this unlocking.
