  1. Daughters gotta love them but they Know how to pull on Daddy's heart strings and they sure "do know everything" until they realise they don't and need your help begrudgingly.... all part of the transition to adulthood we all went through but its more pronounced these days in the social-media age Hang in there mate and thanks for you thoughts Cujo_1970
  2. Thought I should finally put my photo up as I’ve been playing/using this sim since the First iteration way back with the initial of IL-2 Sturmovik in 2001. Due to living in a rural location in Northern N.S.W. Australia I have hence to zero internet speed so playing online is a flicker fest and not to be attempted the only real downside of living in a rural seaside Australian location. I’m nearly 65 and was told to finally grow up, by my 22yr old daughter to who apparently knows it all as she is studying for a masters in coastal marine science; But secretly I’m so glad she can focus on that and also listened to me when I finished my environmental science/tourism management degrees to get as much study done whilst still young and not like me in my 50’s and her friends who work on cafes and hotels. Sorry I digress. Over the last 3 years my wife of 24 years has passed away and I seem to have developed lung problems with COPD so I wonder what I’ll be flying in the great beyond in a year or two (Maybe but I’m a strong old bugger with a history of beating back accidents and illnesses so stay tuned), Rave & Rant over signin out Paul aka Goanna1
  3. Only if we beat India in the cricket test series
  4. I like many others here would love to have a Mosquito or even a Beaufighter
  5. I don't want anything but I would like to congratulate you for letting XXX know not to 'look a gift horse in the face' or you might get bitten on the bum and shamed -- what a tool xxx is ungrateful p***k
  6. How big is the hotfix meant to be,- - as I had the simulation previously functioning and loaded up to 3.001, now today on starting it first showed an update file of 246.88 mb which downloaded at 165mbps (as fast as it gets here) to about 85%, and then speed dropped off to a snail pace download of 2.42 kbps, which I had to stop downloading and turn computer off as I had to go out. Then when I restarted the computer it shows a file size of 1.12 gb but now downloading at 2.42 kbps (which means this simulation will never run again at this rate). Something seems strange here ..any ideas on what's going on would be appreciated. Now on a recheck its up to 1.89 gb file size and climbing Bugger!!!
  7. Doh, I always thought that the Red Back's had a longer red stripe on their thorax, but you are right on further viewing. The ubiquitous 'Hiding under the outback dunny seat spider'; dangerous little Bugger Quote
  8. Black Widow spider ( check out the Hour Glass shape on its Torso) If Im not mistaken
  9. Now that the Kuban release is imminent I finally got my gaming computer up and functioning extremely well after months of woes and inactivity causing me to shelve the project. I have an issue where the ASUS Sabretooth Z77 motherboard only recognises the RAM as half what is present 8gb instead of 16gb, (RAM is Corsair Dominator 2666mhz..8gb sticks x2..only recognised as and stably works as 2x 4gb 1866mhz RAM sticks. Got me stumped as I've checked BIOS (upgraded that to the latest edition as well) and anything else I can think of.. Any tech knowledge and input from the geniuses here will be greatly appreciated. I had another issue when I downloaded and installed the latest Nvidia drivers (390.77 for windows 10 x64)where the GPU fan ran on in high speed mode when computer was turned off ... only way to stop that was to turn power off at rear power supply switch. A reinstall 3rd one tried seems to have fixed that issue ...but this happened after I first noticed RAM problem. Ram isnt stable at 2666 only at top speed of 1866, and is isn't o/clocked. Any tech knowledge and input from the geniuses here will be greatly appreciated. regards Paul
  10. Really EPIC news fellows on the Kuban release.. And the Gods must be smiling on me as I finally got my gaming computer up and functioning extremely well after months of woes so I just used my laptop. ...Although I have an issue where the AUUS Sabretooth Z77 motherboard only recognises the RAM as half what is present, (RAM is Corsair Dominator 2666mhz..8gb sticks x2..only recognised as and stably works as 2x 4gb 1866mhz RAM sticks. Got me stumped as I've checked BIOS (upgraded that to the latest edition as well) and anything else I can think of.. Any tech knowledge and input from the geniuses here will be greatly appreciated. regards Paul
  11. Just saying that apart from the Kiwis everyone is later than us Aussies
  12. Thanks for these historical insights into the actual personalities who flew and often gave up their lives in this world changing war.
  13. I so totally relate to your feelings, comments and future time frames. BlitzPig and Cloyd, I too am in my mid 60's (63): and if this year is a future indicator I found sickness, injury and such things causing surprise stays in a hospital for a few weeks due to lingering and untreated pnuemonia (held over for 6 mths) also due to not being as 'bullett proof' as I once thought myself to be. I can't presuppose that to wait for 18-24 months for a computer game/sim to come to me is very soon, as I once would, it might be all the time left to me here, in this realm as Thor succinctly describes our planet. How many of us at this age have heard of friends that have passed away super suddenly without any prior indicators? I've been onboard with IL-2 since it came out 14 or so years ago and a wish of mine is to 'fly' aircraft such as Boomerangs, Beaufighters and Sea Fury's over the Papua/New Guinea map area in the resolution and DM/FM of this production's quality.
