  1. Thanks for the reply Gordon. I'll check out the uninstall and reinstall of WMR and see if that helps the fps and CTDs. I'll try a fresh Win10 install on a spare SSD as well. I dont believe SteamVr has anything to do with the WMR and headset not waking up after i try restarting the WMR software as the WMR will still fail when it is the only program i have been using. The WMR, headset and Win10 definitely has an issue somewhere for me. My 1080 is doing fine. The CTDs start with a progressive failing of headtracking first and then it CTD. (SteamVR 180%SS for IL2 app, 100% in video global tab) , High preset in game, noAA, low Shadows, 70k distance, normal ground, no SSAO or HDR.) I'm SURE the CTD is a failing of WMR, SteamVR and IL2. When i try the fresh Win10 install it might fix any corruption that is causing this.
  2. ^^ dont waste your $150 I have had my Reverb for a week. The leather face cushion sucks balls for me as it is too thin across the forehead and doesnt contact around the sides. Being too thin across the forehead causes me to see the screen edges when looking forward, the screen edges illuminate or reflect light and are terribly annoying. If i pull the headset away from my face by about 5mm i no longer see the edges. The sides not contacting causing alot of light bleed into the headset which is also very annoying as you need light for the inside out head tracking. I have attached my spare vive face cushion onto the reverb leather cushion which has fixed the problem for me 😥. There is no way of adjusting the headset toward or away from your face/eyes like the vive 😒 I'm not very happy with the software as it is causing crashes to the desktop after a random amount of flying time. I had three CTDs last night while trying to fly WoL, twice during critical engagements ( i bet ppl thought i was disconnecting so i wouldnt be shot down 😭 ). Also if i exit the WMR software i have to restart the PC before i can use WMR again as it says the headset wont wake up 😣. Also is IL2 is running at 60 fps on the in-game counter, yet WMR and SteamVR are set at 90hz and SteamVR shows it running at 90 hz. Anyone with WMR know what could be wrong? Reprojection is disabled. BTW it is not all doom and gloom: The resolution is FANTASTIC! and the game feels very smooth when not in Multiplayer. Smoother than my Vive (ver1) running at lower settings and SS.

  4. Hi Pikas_62, VR adds an amazing level of immersion to this game! I'm a longtime VR (htc Vive) user. I play only online multiplayer servers, mainly Wings of Liberty and Combat Box depending on server population. I think you need to get past this need for 'balance' between TrackIr and VR users online, as it will only spoiling your enjoyment of the game. If you are getting shot down i can assure you it will have more to do with your own skills and experience than it will anything else. However i do agree with you on the need for better VR zoom and snap view options needing to be integrated. Currently you can have both the customisable zoom and snap view options via a mod which works on all MP servers - I hope this mod helps you until the game has these features integrated (hopefully one day). Good luck with your flying! edit: Btw VR users have an advantage with initial dot spotting at longranges, however ID'ing a plane is terrible until very close. The above mod will solve the ID'ing issues for you though!
  5. I notice in the user_keymapping_zoom.ini.vive only has part of my settings. I use x6 and y6 in combination (to get a more central zoomed image for my eyes) and if you remove the x6 part then my y6 values will no longer converge correctly. These are my current settings: (note that i'm using the older key bindings, which you can change) [Key1] ;set high zoom on Key = ALT no_shift no_ctrl VK_RIGHT type = hold ; modify here the first value you want to use for zoom increase w = 10.0 ; horizontal zoomed view shift for convergence x6 = 0.15 y6 = 0.15 ; vertical zoomed view shift y7 = -0.15  ;Xvalue for zoom mask center. Set 1.0 to remove it. x7 = 1.0 ;Yvalue for zoom mask center. w6 = 0.0 Most people just use the y7 however i found that the an object that was in central vision before zoom appeared to shift to the left of central as i zoomed on it. I have found that the y6 and x6 are your eyes line of sight (one is left eye the other is right; dont know which though). x6 and y6 Increased is reduce vision crossing (widen eyes) Most people just use the y7 in the decreased is cross vision (cross eyes more) (i.e increase number to un-cross eyes/ decrease to cross eyes) y6 and x6 should be similar numbers so that each eye is equal distance from a center view line. I found that the zoom convergence was a total x6+y6=1.0(example number). Therefore i could move the zoom image left or right by changing both y6 and x6 together as long as they equaled 1.0(example) combined. I knew if the image (i focused on a distant plane) was crossed : by holding zoom, if i saw a double plane then i closed one eye. If your left eye closes and the right plane disappears then your vision is crossed. Left eye closed and left plane disappears then your vision is wide and un-crossed. y7 moves the image up and down. Increase to move view down (ie, viewed target up). Hope this helps.
  6. Hi megger40. I'm a Vive user too and i've been using this mod for a long time.All Zoom settings are individual for each person as our eyes are all different IPD. Try these settings if your IPD is low around 60. If your IPD is alot higher these settings wont work for you.   7. The current non beta is the poor performer. The old SteamVr beta v1527 hotfix is giving me the good performance.
  8. I have done some basic testing of FPS using the Spitfire (Common baseline) test track but not of actual in game flying. There is a noticable increase of min frames when using ver9.8 and "Always on Reprojection" in my HTC Vive. Could be the video driver 388.xx, but i was having issues with 398.82 which i why i went back. Here are the FPS with 9.7 and 9.8 mods.   9. Any news about whether this bug has been taken on board by the devs? I am getting this bug everytime I get shot down on WoL. No impact or hit sounds at all anymore in any plane.

  11. Well i was a bit hasty on my praise of the "always on reprojection". It is great single player for me but not good on the Kuban map in online servers when in heavy situations. 🤢 This is my experience too now that i have have used it in more maps/situations.
  12. Megla im only using <140% SS in steamvr. Balanced preset, med shadows, no AA, high clouds, 2x land, blurred land filter, 70km horizon, sharpen and 4k textures. I'm not pushing heavy settings as I'm not so worried how it looks, more how smooth it is in online combat. Btw I'm only on gen1 Vive. In the last updates of IL 2 and steamvr smoothness had chopped right up even on lower settings. I'm quite disappointed this. Thankfully the Always on repro has smoothed it right out in all situations for me.
  13. Remember in using a VIVE so this probably won't be any use to Rift users. It took all of 5 minutes for me to test the different settings so it wouldn't hurt to try. I'm not seeing any 'ghosting or streaking' of planes in combat (offline or online) with 'always on repro'. It will still stutter if you are pushing your settings too high ofcourse . Interleaved used to be the worst for ghosting and Async now shows stuttering even at high fps when it used to be ok.
  14. The Steam VR has now implemented this beta as the main version now. I have found that the 'Always on reprojection' ONLY (no interleaved or async) is the best and smoothest IL2 performance I have had EVER with my Vive HMD. This was a surprise to me but I'm super happy I found it today!
