  1. I am not a team member, never really was. I just help with research and translations whenever I can. I was replying to Dagwoods post. 1C will of course have to give the green light because TFS remain under contract with them. Should 1C decide to pull the plug then that'll put an end to any further development, VR and TrueSky included. That sounds like an issue with your camera setup (camera not seeing the clip) or an issue with interfering light sources. From personal experience LED clips are far better for tracking than the reflector clip that comes with TIR.
  2. What does TrueSky have to do with the implementation of the FW190A in a possible future expansion and why would one take away ressources from the other? The people working on TrueSky are different from those working on aircraft. A coder doesn't do 3D models and a modeller doesn't do coding. As for maps that the 190 can be used on: the existing Channel map with a few modifications
  3. The file modification time in the picture has no meaning, I dont know why you are bringing this up. The picture is solely meant to show what the file created by the wizard looks like. Stick to what I actually wrote, not to what you are interpreting. The condensed workflow: 1) Backup your current confUser.ini that's in the documents folder (NOT game folder). Copy/paste it somewhere else, then delete the one in the documents folder. 2) Run the Joystick Wizard, map your inputs, then save it. 3) Rename the newly created "confuser.ini.wizard_backup" to simply confUser.ini 4) Done
  4. The files in the game folder are just backups. The actual files with your control mapping changes have to stay inside "My Documents/1C SoftClub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover" DO NOT copy them into the main game folder. The wizard saves all changes in the right place. Once you've saved your changes within the wizard you should have a file like this in your documents folder Move and backup your old, existing confUser.ini in some other place, then rename this "confuser.ini.wizard_backup...." file to confUser.ini
  5. Sat/Sun is reserved for the Tobruk campaign isn't it? And Monday is when the BoS campaign takes place. Not easy to find a common denominator with so many people taking part.
  6. Surprisingly, I find these German Macchis to be good lookers 😄
  7. Nice to see the C.202 prop pitch fixed, it's a joy to fly again!
  8. Some pre-5.0 footage I had lying around.
  9. You should always only edit the .ini files found in the documents folder, the ones in the main game folder are just a sort of backup.
  10. Noone is obliged to show you anything. You've been told how to extract maximum performance out of the plane multiple times. Trust us or not, I dont care.

    Operation Mirror

Some footage from my PoV of the event on 17th November.
  12. Thanks for the heads up! Now there's only 8 left. I cancelled my UK order and put an order up via the German Amazon page 🙂
  13. Ordered mine on Amazon.co.uk, looking forward to reading it. Currently says "This title has not yet been released" however.
  14. I think Clostermann also wrote on the subject of Luftwaffe training in his book (even though he was with the RAF). He said that too little time was spent actually flying and too much time was wasted learning Luftwaffe regulations. He also said that about 70% of the Luftwaffe fighter pilots were sub-par, and thus basically cannon fodder, while the other 30% were experienced aces, leaving no middle ground. I think that's a pretty fair assessment.
  15. The Luftwaffe never suffered a shortage of aircraft, in fact fighter production steadily increased until the end of the war even during the time the allied strategic bombing campaign was at its height. This was due to production slowly shifting to untouchable underground factories and the generous use of forced labor. What really broke the Luftwaffe's back was that pilot training could not keep up with frontline casualties. Compromises had to be made and training was shortened again and again until freshly trained pilots barely had enough training to master the basics of flight. Also very little effort was made to send experienced pilots on a rotation and have them teach their experiences back home to recruits. The Luftwaffe would have been much better off with a rotation system like the USAAF had, rather than having its aces fight to the point of total exhaustion and until they went MIA/KIA. Also no matter how good you are, some freak accident can end your life in a heartbeat, see Mölders and Marseille for that. With a system of aces like that of the Luftwaffe, every loss counts double and triple.
  16. Registered for Wednesday and Saturday! 😎
  17. Probably depends on what engine it has. Does it go up to 1.35ata and 2600rpm? --> C-4N/NJG/Trop
  18. Yes, according to Airone there's a mission planned for Wednesday.
  19. Video of BoB mission 4 including an infamous death spree 😐
  20. Some impressions from this week's BoB event. The escort scattering above their bomber charges Bombers are inbound to target Target ahead Climbing back into the formation after a successful bounce
  21. Bullet hit effects depend on the type of bullet. An ordinary Ball or AP round does not create an impact flash which is historical. That's one of the reasons why both the LW and RAF have observer rounds for their rifle caliber machine guns. These rounds exploded on impact in a bright flash indicating that your gunfire was on target. HE and certain API or I rounds create impact flashes as well as is historical. I don't see a reason why this should be changed.
