  2. I have started to experince it the first time when the P40E was released. In the circuit, while configuring the aircraft for landing, I was running out of elevator trim to balance the need for continuous pull on the stick... Sometimes 100% tail heavy wasn't sufficient. Then came the P51 and the same happens with that model, and finally I noticed somehow the P47 shares the same lack of "enough tail heavy" trimming. I usually set my controllers without "force feedback" in the Game Options but I wonder if it makes a difference, even for those who, like me, don't have an FF

Like gliders ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUWzyqfpJbo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUqTzTkIZeY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KrLKM35ioI Oops, Hoots got me to it ๐Ÿ™‚ I honestly miss Active Sky, and they having been left out, until for now, is quite a disappointment ๐Ÿ˜ž Been a long time beta tester with HiFi, all platforms, and they really do a remarkable job in FSX, P3D and even XP... Unfortunately METAR-based approaches are never going to work that nice with MFS IMO, given the way they will have to merge
  6. MFS, is indeed UNIQUE ! I am still on my 2012 rig, i5 2500, GTX 960 4 GB gpu, 16GB DDR3 RAM, and I can run it, noticing that when I enable photogrammetry and streaming + rolling cache it runs even smoother ๐Ÿ˜„ I really look forward for the flight dynamics and SDK updates, and the fine tunning of the Meteoblue weather feeds, but so far is the most Astounding flight simulation experience I have had in terms of scenery and weather rendering and effects ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. Initially the Spitfires had it wrong, pitching up when flaps deployed, but it was fixed. The Hurricane is still wrong - pitches up when flaps deployed, while it should pitch down, just like the spitfires, for the very same reasons ( aerodynamically ). Yet another of many details that I would love to see addressed sometime ahead - the Spitfire usually cruises with nose heay trim settings, thus implying that we should be able to see the elevator hinges slightly to the up side of the horizontal stab, but they're always perfectly aligned... Things...
  8. Thx for your comment Melonfish ! Could you help me find those evidences in the net? I searched for a while but all I found was this video. Would really like to read / ear that the way it's modelled in IL2 is the right one. I remember the Spitfires were initially released with that pitching up tendency too on flap deployment and latter fixed to agree with reports from true pilots of the type.
  9. Looks more or less evident from the following video that the pilot has to pull when gear and then flaps are lowered during approach... https://youtu.be/h6m7z2HPW34?t=464
  10. @ZachariasX, Il2 109s do model asymmetric slot deployment. One just has to fly it the "right way" to cause it, but it's actually a lot easier to take place than in another combat flightsim that also has a 109 model... OTOH, I recall that when the 109 was first released, not sure if after or before the 190, in the Il2 BoS series, takeoffs were a bit more difficult to manage, including the need for brake application because the rudder was not as effective as it is right now... I find it a bit too easy to takeoff with the 109s in Il2, taking anecdotes I've read, namely bei
  11. Well, I just posted because i thought some might be interested... Personally I was never able to watch any war movie other than the one my father took me to see in the cinema some... 46 yrs ago - "The Bridge on the River Kwai"...
  12. The Full Movie is now available for watching during November, on Youtube.
  13. Welcome back! I am always returning too, after deambulating through other flightsims, mostly civil, but lagging a LOT of the feel IL-2 brings :-) And I am not even in VR ! A simple HeadTracker Pro is all I got...
  14. I believe 1C / 777 intend to implement a complete update of the fuel system, allowing for tank selection as well as drop.
  15. 1) In it's present state of engine modelling complexity, which aircraft should benefit from mixture adjustment with altitude, the effects being able to be followed using EGT, CHT or the tachometer ? 2) How would you recommend, leaning for any of the aircraft you cared to list for 1) ? Thank you !
  16. It's always great to know we have talented / passionate developers working on our preferred air combat title ! Me just thinks he took it a bit too risky on that wing drop ... He is surely confident of the machine he has under control, but Heck! - that recovery was too close to the ground ! Please be careful An. ! ;-)
  17. I don't have IL2 installed to test now, but to the OP I should ask: - are you sure you weren't taking off with a starboard wind component ? Other hypothesis: The aircraft loads with too high rudder trim compensation. You could try hitting the key / button assigned to neutralize all trim settings, and see if it still has that right / veering tendency ?
  18. Well, to address Zacharias quest above, it's from Meteoblue that ASOBO fetches the GRIB data containing the forecast models provided by that company. As I pointed out at another post, that's fine for medium / higher levels, and in some occasions even lower levels, but observation data ( METAR / SPECI ) or even PIREP / AIREP are important feeds as well. The problem is blending aloft model data with METAR... This blending is the secret to "success", and the latest patch has walked towards a more acceptable result for their weather engine. Missed, a LOT, is the
  19. I had a problem with my 2nd install of the DVD std version and decided to contact the MS Gamestore support through the chat window. It worked beautifully and they solved my problems. You might want to try it too ?
  20. Just out of curiosity, after initially having got MFS through the Alpha program, and then later bought it from Steam, I asked for a Steam refund, which I was promptly given, and bought the DVD version. With the 10 DVDs burnt into ISO files, an MFS reinstall now takes usually no longer than 25 - 30 min including the final download it always makes from the cloud of a few Gigas...
  21. This is an aspect MFS can prove useful with... Of course provided you train near areas with good scenery, and the aircraft systems and damage model are ok, which is not yet very much the case ๐Ÿ˜•
  22. Unfortunately, I'm afraid not... I.e.: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/prop-wash-effects-on-yaw-roll.449169/ Not to talk of details like the way IL-2 models for instance some aerodynamic systems that aren't even by far available in MFS even through the MODERN FM, such as slats in a 109, that can't actually be modelled in X-Plane either, at least in as far as asymmetric deployment goes... Do you know that in MFS there isn't yet a modelling of elevator trim other than as it being, just like since fs4, a stabilator ( airline style ) approach ? Do
