    Sharing media in missions?

    Leon. With regards to sound files... *For MP include the sound file in the IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad/data/Audio folder where you have it targeted by the Media MCU within the Server/Host machine only. Players joining the mission in DF or CoOP do not need the sound file. *For SP include the sound file in the IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad/data/Audio folder where you have it targeted by the Media MCU. Players must have this sound file within their game. Works as advertised... For other media I would suggest checking Jim's Guide as some media needs to be within the Server/Host machine's Data/Dogfight or Cooperative folders to work in MP and a different folder for SP. Tip

Suit yourself... ================================= Jim, A Simple (Mission Begin-Timer (Say 10 Secs or so)-Proximity Trigger) will get the job done whilst the mission loads up in the Dserver and before anyone can spawn in . No problem with the ship/vehicle not being activated or spawned in yet. Although you can use the First WP timer targeting the Proximity Trigger if you'd rather for vehicles in motion. I do it that way for convoys etc... For ships still just have a direct Begin-Timer-Ship as the start of the mission. Tip
  5. Ships/Vehicles Proximity Triggers only work in Dserver with power (Mission Begin or other MCU, CZ, C-Trigg etc...-timer-Proximity) along with several other triggers btw. Been that way for years. As a matter of course always power up CZs, C-Triggs etc as well when Mission starts with a Mission Begin MCU. Proximity Triggers do not work in any form within Games Dogfight Server. Proximity Triggers work as advertised within CoOPs as long as they are supplied with power. Save yourself the hassle of trying to figure out why somethings that work in SP won't work in MP Dservers unless you have first supplied the revelant MCU with power of some type.
  6. Certainly having an enemy squadron stream past would raise the anticipation level. Fighters are lose cannons though so perhaps in addition to using a High WP, have them also attacking a ground target which "might" keep them in check from attacking your squadron unless provoked. Another way to keep folks anxious if you can anticipate the ingress route, altitude and relative speed for your E-7 squadron is to try using a frontal engagement which carries over and through your squadron. I used this method to good effect and with few additional AI added to lower the footprint. Have perhaps 110s or another E-7 group spawn in front of your squadrons ingress at a higher altitude, can be just out of eyesight or perhaps under cloud cover and moving in the same direction with slightly less airspeed. Don't overtake them before they get attacked. At the same time have the Migs/I-16s spawn in approximately 20 kms out on a reciprocal heading with speed at higher altitude with one WP set at the higher altitude, target linking an Attack Area MCU, (used medium, 18,000m span with a 8 minute window) located in the middle of both AI squads and "set to the same height as the friendly group in front of yours". Merging in front of your own, the attacking AI are locked in to the other group as they run over and in many cases through your formation. You'll of course need to test the timing. A Force Complete after the 8 minute window then delete and or Complete Damage ends the AI action once your squad has passed through. For additional immersion have some dummy AI using the same aircraft as the friendly frontal AI group take off or in some other way be shown and heard by your squad early on and then get canned out of sight. You mean the way I suggested to you where the Destroyer here: Shells the Town here: I suggest you check your logic and when you get it working at a shorter distance then just drag the Destroyers farther out to sea until they exceed whatever the Devs decided to use for the Main Guns Range.     Naval Artillery ?

    Stick a bunch of linked entity fake blocks in the city. Have your Destroyer(s) Attack Area MCU set to ground and ground targets. You can limit the coverage area for the Attack MCU to concentrate fire on one section of town then use a Force Complete and shift the Destroyer(s) to another section using a different Attack Area MCU. Make sure you have some type of power (target link timer, Mission Start etc...) to the Attack MCU(s). Also you can set counter to number of destroyed fake blocks then use a damage MCU to destroy a part or what is left of town section being shelled. Good Luck with your mission design, Tip
