  1. Maybe not. Accordingly to Wikipedia (yes, Wikipedia... ), the Do 335 was 13 km/h faster. P-47 M 762 km/h at 9750 m Do 335 775 km/h at 6400 m Ooops,... you talked about SINGLE engine fighter...
  2. I know, the discussion about radio beacons and landing systems has a very looooonnnng beard, but I have not lost hope, that something will happen sometime. πŸ˜‰ In CloD I spent a lot of time, experimenting in the editor with the instruments of the He111. An I found it very interessting to learn how these thing were supposed to work. Not everything in CloD worked perfect as you all know, (expecially Lorenz system), but they tried to do it and I appreciated that a lot. Finding locations after a night flight, only depending on the Patin-system and the clock was very satisfying, at least for me.
  3. πŸ˜‰ But why? Don't you think, that this PTO scenario will attract new player groups, which have not been present here until now? I think, PTO will exactly do this and that can only be good for revenues (hopefully) and for the growing player base, of course.
  4. Exactly my thoughts. πŸ‘ŒπŸ» The only difference is, that I am waiting for the Me 262 and not for the P 51. πŸ˜‚ But nevertheless, you are right!
  5. Due to the fact, that the PTO ist probably a bigger project, I am willing to accept compromises easily. If plane models are based on best assumptions in the beginning, it is totally acceptable. Flight models can be adjusted step by step. As long we are seeing ships, islands and and interessting plane set, I am very patient.
  6. I think, it is necessary for the sim to be developed further in order to attract new members. This cannot be achive by Korea or the x installment based on the Estern Front. The PTO has everything we need. New components, as ships, torpedo bombers and. a new landscape with green islands in a blue ocean. New kinds of weather and navigation needs to find carriers in sunset times. Maybe a great deal of work, but maybe the most rewarding, too.
  7. Hello F/JG300_Gruber thanks for the link to the documentation. Another good source is the "Luftfahrt Archiv Hafner". There you can find the "D. (Luft) T.7002" - document for Lotfe and BZG 2. From this, I thought, that Lotfe 7C is modelled (nearly) in CoD. This picture of the bombardiers station (left) is much more immersive than the Il2 sturmovik station. The reason, why I am missing it. On the right, the real thing. But maybe in the future .....
  8. Hello dingsda! I wasn't aware, that it is a yearly topic. πŸ˜‚ But nevertheless, sometimes it may be worthwhile to remember the old "Moebelwagen", too. πŸ˜‰
  9. So true. While differences between the Bf 109, model E, F, G, there weaponry, superchargers, ... are discussed in length (not criitizising this), a fundamental part, als the Lotfe is missing. Hopefully we will see some love for the bomber details, too. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»O
  10. Years ago, when Il2 was very new and I saw it in comparison to CoD, where I flew mostly He 111, I found the bombsight to be a step back. I that time the devs were not interessted in doing it similar to CoD. Is the number of pilots, being in favor of a Lotfe 7 really so small ? I am really missing it. 😞
  11. Hello Gambit21, where can I set the frequency of the NDB? And in the PATIN-instrument I have to choose this number. How is this done? (I know, how it was done in CloD) Thanks for an answer.
  12. Thanks, Gambit21! Being here after a longer period of inactivity, I am glad to hear this. Is there a written dokumentation about this? And where? Frequencies, usage in the instruments of the He 111 (my favorite) , and so on ... Thanks again. πŸ˜ƒ
  13. I think, it is unlikely, that we will see any kind of electronic warfare in the sim, but its a pity, very true. - Airborne radars for night fighters - Guiding systems for the approach to enemy formations - Landing systems for finding runways in the dark Maybe, all these are to complicated / cost intensiv to implement, but I would pay an upcharge, only to have the possibility to learn these technologies in the aircrafts. πŸ˜ƒ
  14. I had hopes, that sometimes a flightsim would go into the details of radar, because its WW2. We have "nightfighters" in the game, but they are not "real", because the core is missing. The German FuG 202 /FuG 220 Lichtenstein airborne radars for the BF 110 or the Ju 88 would be a dream (and their allied counterparts, of course). Years ago, some enthusiasts used Il2 1946 for a try, but the project was not finishes, unfortunately. Maybe the number of interested people in this community is to small, to implement this, but it is still a very interesting aspect.
  15. Of course, right. But nevertheless interesting for its design and performance.
