  1. It worked! Thank you for your advice and your patience . The problem was not that I named them incorrectly but that you have to copy and paste both the hull template and sideskirt template into the _PzIII-M folder, or else the skin just won't show up.
  2. What do you mean by that? I have named the .dds file "PzKpfwIII_401_&1#1" and now the skin isn't even showing up in the game.
  3. You may have misunderstood me. I haven't accidentally swapped the hull with the side skirts because I haven't touched the hull template at all. The only thing I have done is open the PzIII-M_Skirts template, paint it, save it as a .dds file and copy and paste it in the _PanzerIII-M folder (1C Game Studios --> IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles --> data --> graphics --> Skins --> _PzIII-M). Here's how my folder currently looks.
  4. https://www.mediafire.com/file/bnz0y3dwd2yt4t2/PzIII-M_Skirts_painted_done.dds/file Here's the painted PzIII-M Skirts_template @Tomi_099. I'm not sure what you mean with "Can you give us the 2 skins to download?" I have only painted the Sideskirts template, haven't touched the Pz.III M Body template yet.
  5. Just started working on a skin for the Panzer III M. I have just finished painting the sideskirts and installed them to have a look at the new paint job in game. The paint job doesn't appear on the sideskirts but only on the tank hull (Don't worry, I was smart enough to equip the side skirts). I have downloaded the Pz.III M template, opened the PzIII-M_Skirts file with GIMP and painted it. When I was done I saved it, flattened the image, added a layer mask etc. and copied the painted PzIII-M_Skirts file to the _PzIII-M skin folder. What have I done wrong?
  6. Great idea! Aiming with a mouse would be so much more easier than currently. Also, it would remove a couple of key bindings and "free up" your keyboard, thus making it a little bit more beginner friendly (which this game really needs!)
  7. First of all, tracks or other modules don't take 2 seconds to repair but rather a couple of minutes. Secondly: I think you could add that feature but I see a couple of problems: How would you drag the body of the driver out of the drivers compartment? (Especially that of the Pz.IV G since the driver is kinda stuck between the radio to the right of him and the ammo rack behind him). In general, drivers compartments are very cramped, so getting the limp body of the driver out of there could take minutes. Same thing with switching the gunner. You could push his body out of his seat (or he would fall out himself). But how do you make sure that the dead gunner doesn't get stuck in between the turret basket and the turret and jam the turret traverse (same thing goes for the rest of the turret crew). Furthermore, if a shell would penetrate the tank and create enough damage for the gunner to be killed, wouldn't it also kill the whole turret crew?
  8. I think that you don't really need a dedicated driver and radio operator. The gunner focuses on gunning, the commander focuses on searching for targets and commanding the tank which includes giving the driver commands on what to do (So the commander is basically driving the tank). So having a dedicated driver would be more immersive, but it isn't necessary, since the commander can do it just as well as the driver. The radio operator in this game is pretty much obsolete. His FOV is very small, so he is of no use spotting targets. Also, you don't really need the hull MG (at least in this state of the game), since you have one in the turret anyways. Are there any multicrew multiplayer servers that are at least somewhat populated?
  9. Hello everyone! This is my first skin I made. Any criticism is welcome😄. During WW2 it was common for people in the Soviet Union to donate money to their government and therefore help the fight against Nazi Germany. One example of this are Ilya Andreevich Shirmanov and Maria Filippovna Shirmanov. In February of 1943 a letter arrived in Moscow: "Me and my husband, part of the agricultural cooperative "Gorky" in the Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, decided to donate our savings to build a tank. We have donated 50.000 rubles to the State Bank of the USSR. I ask for permission to personally hand this armoured fighting vehicle over to my son, tanker Andrey Ilyich Shirmanov, as a gift in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Red Army." The T-34-76 tank, with the inscription "Gift to our Son" on the turret, was handed over to Andrey, who served in the 1st Tank Battalion of the 162nd Tank Brigade, in June 1943. Unfortunately , not too long after having the tank gifted to him, Andrey Ilyich Shirmanov was killed near the Ukrainian city Chernivtsi. 10. I can't try it out since I don't have one but I nevertheless have no doubt that the joystick works way better than the mouse. You could say "Buy a joystick then and you won't have any problems". The thing is, I don't see why I have to buy a joystick even though the problem could be easily fixed, which would remove the need for a joystick. Futhermore, the game would become more accessible if you didn't have to buy a joystick on top of a 70$ game.
  11. Good day everyone! I have bought Tank Crew about a month ago and enjoyed every single bit of it. Really hope that it gets updated further. One thing that has been bothering me is the aiming system on the tanks. To continuously traverse the turret, you have to continuously move your mouse to the left/right. Since my mouse pad isn't endless, I have to swipe my mouse from left to right/right to left all the time to prevent running out of space on the pad. A solution to this would be to redo the aiming system to make it similiar to the aiming system of the tank sim "Steel Beasts". There, you don't have to move your mouse continiuously to traverse the turret continuously but rather move it to a certain point to get a certain traverse speed. The further you put your cursor to the right/left of the center of the crosshair, the faster the turret traverses to the right/left. The closer you put the cursor to the right/left of the center of the crosshair, the slower your turret traverses. If you put your cursor directly on or close beside the center of the crosshair, your turret doesn't move at all. Basically, just how it would work with a joystick. The more you move the stick to the right/left, the faster the turret traverses in that direction and vice versa. This would provide you with a fluent turret traverse without having to buy a joystick.
  12. Thanks for your answer @LachenKrieg! Post on the Suggestions Forum is up.
