  1. The Panther is great, t(h)ank you very much! :D Is there any schedule for the quick mission generator for Tank Crew that lets us choose the AI tanks we want to have as opponents and allies? Right now, you can't have most of the tanks specifically made for Tank Crew as AI-controlled enemies or allies in QMB which is a bit of a pity, as these vehicles all look great and perform excellently. Being able to choose and customize them like aircraft would be superb!
  2. Yes, I know and have played that many times. But currently you can't choose the tank that the enemy is using and the AI in QMB does not use the vehicles designed for Tank Crew with the exception of the Tiger tank. Alll the other tanks they use are the standard ground units that come with the Great Battles series. So it would be nice to be able to choose which tank you fight against and which one is on your team.
  3. Does anyone have a clue when they are going to release this feature mentioned in the product description? I would really like to choose tanks for allied and enemy AI as I can do with aircraft. Also, do we have any clue how it will be implemented?
  4. I am aware of these prototype/operational use issues, but they also apply to some planes already in the sim. Still, I understand the concerns you pointed out nicely. I don't know about the T-34-57 or KV-85 in War Thunder, it would just be one possible option which you could also do less OP here. As I said in the first post, I just wanted to point out that the game could use some more modifications / skin options that can be done quite easily and we can discuss prototypes all day.
  5. Another possible modification to even the odds would be the 57mm gun as an option for the T-34: https://wiki.warthunder.com/T-34-57_(1943) https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/soviet/t34exterminator Yes, it was a prototype in 1943, but we have other, very rare customization options for some planes too... Same goes for a 85mm gun for the KV-1s...
  6. Plenty of options to choose from for the Red Army: https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/soviet/soviet_T34-76.php https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/soviet/soviet_SU-152.php https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/soviet/soviet_KV-1.php https://www.coh2.org/topic/27537/all-factions-vehicle-skins-database https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/soviet/soviet_SU-122.php
  7. On the new promotional image for tank crew on the IL-2 website, both the T-34 and the Panzer IV have extra equipment not featured in the game at the moment: https://il2sturmovik.com/s/img/main_slides/tc_early_access_en.38bdcabe053a.jpg The Panzer IV has got an MG34 AA machine gun mounted on the commander's cupola which should be easy to add to Tank Crew for all (German) tanks. The self-propelled guns/ tank destroyers also need them and at least the SU-152 could be equipped with the DshK according to the sources one can find. The second piece of equipment is the commander's cupola for the T-34. There is an AI controlled T-34 M1943 with the cuploa which also appears in some missions in the Breaking Point campaign. This would be a good modification for the playable T-34, especially if you advertise with this feature. In general, it would be nice to have some more modifications and skin options in the final game it, is rather mediocre at the moment compared to the planes. There are almost no multi-coloured camouflage skins for Allied vehicles available by default for example.
  8. Thing is: The Developer Diary specifically says that the Su-122's HEAT shell can penetrate 120mm of armor, allowing it to take out any German tank. If this does not work now, there is something wrong here for sure.
  9. I have done a practice round with the SU122 against a bunch of AI Tiger tanks - Couldn't damage them, neither with HE nor HEAT rounds even at point-blank range. Shouldn't this work a little better? Only chance I had was against the side armor, but that's what the T-34 can do, too...
  10. I have been experiencing severe performance issues since today's update with FPS dropping down to 15-20 on the Prochorovkha and Rheinland map when using tanks. Never had this before and I have a top notch PC that usually delivers stable 50-60 FPS with 4k when flying and at least 30 FPS when using tanks on the more detailed are in Prokhorovka. Has anyone got similar problems?
  11. Fun fact: If you die in the first mission, no matter how successful you were, the game says " Mission Successful". After some practice, I was finally able to destroy all German armour coming up the hill without taking damage -> Game says "Mission Failed"
  12. So far, I could only find one custom skin for the Dolphin here. Does anyone know if there are any more?
  13. How can you activate the Aldis gunsight on Allied planes in a way that you actually look through it? I cannot find the right button :/
  14. Very nice skins - Great job! Thanks a lot!
  15. Thanks, I had already found the template the first time it was linked here. My question was intended to find out if anyone has seen skins for the T-34 UVZ 1943 uploaded here in this forum or elsewhere. There are quite many for the other thanks, but not for the two most recent ones.
  16. Has anyone noticed any custom skins for the T-34 UVZ 1943 yet? I have looked for them in vain :/
  17. Does anybody know when we will get the templates and/or does anyone have additional skins for the two most recent tanks? Any information would be appreciated.
  18. When looking at the plane customization, the M2.50 only has blue (AP respectively solid) rounds available, while the other .50 cal machine guns (UBS, MG131 and Breda) are loaded with blue and orange (HE or similar) bullets. I know that the M2.50 usually fired Armor-Piercing-Incendiary (API) rounds, which were also modeled in IL-2 1946 as you can see a flash and sparks when the bullets hit their target, but they seen to be absent in Il-2 Great Battles. These rounds would be an important addition to the Bodenplatte module, as most Allied planes in this expansion have the M2.50 as their primary armament. They would also benefit the P-39 and P-40 already in the game.
  19. Very good work Just an idea: Has anyone already tried to make some camouflage skins for the Kv-1s, M4A2 Sherman or the T-34 UVZ 1943? So far I have only seen that on the Axis side. A good inspiration could be the skins from COH 2 or those listed on tank encyclopedia: http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/soviet/soviet_T34-76.php https://www.coh2.org/topic/27537/all-factions-vehicle-skins-database
  20. Yeah well, that is why I hope that API rounds will get the M2.50 on par with the UBS and so on. Same for me with the Jug, the P-47 really needs some careful handling -> Both joy and hatred :D
  21. Interesting contrast, thanks for your insights. Yes, I have also experienced the cases you described, but at the same time there are these situations where it seems to take dozens of hits to do some proper damage. With the other .50 cal armaments, that seems to be less of a problem to me. In Il-2 1946, I only encountered the issue you described with the Fw190s, the other opponents usually stood no chance. But as you pointed out, there are probably more factors at work here.
  22. The P-40 or the P-47 sometimes seem to lack punch despite their 6 respectively 8 M2.50 machine guns. This is in contrast to my experience from Il-2 1946 where both planes mentioned above can usually send down most opponents with a quick burst. In Great Battles, I frequently hit enemy planes multiple times in the engine, fuselage, wings etc. and they just keep flying with relatively little (visible) damage. Also when looking at the plane customization, the M2.50 only has blue (AP respectively solid) rounds available, while the other .50 cal machine guns (UBS, MG131 and Breda) are loaded with blue and orange (HE or similar) bullets. I know that the M2.50 usually fired Armor-Piercing-Incendiary (API) rounds, which were also modeled in IL-2 1946 as you can see a flash and sparks when the bullets hit their target. My question is now if these API rounds are modeled in game and/or in which way this has been done. If they are not, these rounds would be a very important addition to the Bodenplatte module, as most Allied planes in this expansion have the M2.50 as their primary armament. It would also affect the P-39 and P-40 which have been in the game for a while now.
