Dear pilots, first and foremost, my thanks go to the development team for offering us the promo codes during this madness period ๐Ÿ‘ I ended up with the promo code for BoBP and FCvol1 since I already have both. Therefore, I decided to support the devs by buying the FCvol1 copy and give it to one community member.   5. Hello, after completing a Moscow career (MiG 3, I-16 and P-40), I continue with the same character into the Stalingrad career and I started to have the same issue as the OP. Is there a solution to this? @shredo, @bob2180 - did you finally solve that problem? Thanks, Milan

  8. Yep, all cores are pegged at 5.1 GHz and the profile is set to High Performance. Still the same result ๐Ÿค” I also noticed that my NB frequency was lower (4.3 GHz) than the one of other rigs running the i9 9900K. Could that be the culprit? Is that set automatically? Should I increase it? (how & to what frequency?). I have to say I am a bit lost here...
  9. I was running the same CPU as yours (on turbo 4.5 GHz though) coupled with GTX 1080 and it proved to be all OK for my previous HMD Samsung Odyssey +. However, the Reverb I got only after I had upgraded the GPU. Quick & dirty comparison of your current GPU and the GTX 1080 shows, that the GTX 1080 is a good deal faster: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1660-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1080/4037vs3603 Could you perhaps borrow an HMD from a friend? If so, you could then ramp up SS to Reverb native level and see how your GPU deals with it. My experience with the GTX 1080 on Odyssey + (with SS lower than Reverb's native res) was that the frames dropped only occasionally below 45fps.
  10. @chiliwili69, as promised - new PC, new tests: Il2 version: 4.004 name: apollon01 Motherboard: ASRock Z390 Taichi Ultimate CPU: i9 9900K Active cores: 8 HT: Off CPU Freq: 5.1 GHz L3 cache: 16 MB STMark: 2942 HT: Off RAM type: DDR4 RAM size: 32 GB NB Freq: 4300 MHz RAM Freq: 3600 MHz (Dual channel) RAM Latency: 16 GPU: 2080Ti GPU passmark: 16694 VR HMD: Reverb Freq: 90 Hz SteamVR SS: 102% (2220x2176) Screen Frames: 28603 - Time: 180000ms - Avg: 158.906 - Min: 73 - Max: 268 VR Frames: 14274 - Time: 180000ms - Avg: 79.300 - Min: 46 - Max: 91 I hoped to get over Avg: 160 on screen but I am just a shy off that mark ๐Ÿ˜ On the other hand, I am happy to get the i9 stable at 5.1 Ghz @ 1.34 volts. I got water cooling but the PC case is standing in a PC table so the air circulation is probably not optimal. I will call it a day and keep it that way. Performance is pretty solid already! Btw. I am quite surprised to see rather low STMark compared to other processors. Milan
  11. I can see that even the beefiest PC so far is unable to run the game on 90fps on average. So likely it will be in motion reprojection most of the time (WMR terminology; if the user sets the auto mode which kicks in whenever the fps is between 45 and 90). I wonder about practical visual difference between such a PC and lower specs PC (like mine with i7 4790k) which is in motion reprojection basically all the time. Any thoughts? Btw: This benchmark is good also for gauging impact of engine changes on performance on our PCs. Say if the deffered rendering is introduced, we will just re-run the benchmark test and see ๐Ÿ‘
  12. As for the interpretation of the distribution charts, we should also bear in mind that (even though it is not the case for the charts posted in this thread), the frame time charts do not show values for frame time higher than 30 ms. These are included only in the csv export.
  13. FYI Chili, I just ran Prepar3D with the fpsVR and pretty much all the time the CPU frame time was around 20+ while the GPU frame time was around 9. So to me it seems like the GPU frame time does not include the CPU frame time.

Btw. recently I have supported a feature request that would make the fpsVR to log also CPU and GPU frame times so the result would not be just the distributions. For a given frame / time unit we would see the CPU & GPU frame times and hopefully also CPU & GPU usage. Intuitively, I would say that it is more GPU limited since the blue GPU chart is shifted more to the right - therefore the GPU takes more time to render a frame. I am missing something obvious here or am misinterpreting the charts.... Thanks.
  16. I have not seen any in career mode; complex weather neither for that matter (heavy clouds, convective clouds, multiple layers - though these apparently exist in the sim, not really in career). Career mode is pretty much severe VMC flying ๐Ÿ˜Ž at the moment. In QMB you can set overcast with minimum cloud base and that is as bad as you can get in terms of adverse weather. Only be aware that the overcast layer is fairly thin. However, still loads of fun to fight over the deck and deadly dipping below ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  17. How about moving left / right and up / down? Is the cockpit moving with you too? If yes, I'd suppose the positional tracking is not calibrated. This is done after launching the WMR software (icon looks like little HMD and during game play mirrors the image from the headset) which asks you to look to the sides and down. Cliffhouse fires up after that and you can check head tracking works as it should. Feel free then to launch SteamVR an Il2. I will not comment on the rest of your post as it is sth subjective. I am using WMR for a year now without any issues and think it is pretty easy to set up. Good luck!

  21. @chiliwili69, I run the benchmark in VR with the results below: VR HMD: Reverb Freq HZ: 90 SteamVR SS: 120% (I know the others are at 100% but with my GPU I believe the difference is negligible) frames: 9448 min: 37 max: 91 avg: 52.489 In about two weeks time I will have a new PC - built around i9 9900k and 2080ti. I will then run the tests again (both on screen and in VR) to contribute to your table. A request to the wise: Shall I go for ddr4 16gb @ 4000mhz or rather ddr4 32gb @ 3200mhz? (similar expenditure; the guy building the rig is advising the latter option to make it future proof but I feel the former one suits better the current VR simming needs...?). Thanks! Milan
  22. OK... so I got the BoBP too and had a look at the map in its current state. It would definitely deserve some more work as the countryside feels so empty. I am not saying the map should depict every single village but there are basically none ๐Ÿ˜ฅ Anyway, currently I am finishing my Moscow career, then the Stalingrad and Kuban are lined up so by the time I get to Rheinland I hope the team will have put few more hours into the map development (as actually announced). Looking forward to the progress!
  23. To be honest, I have not expect it to be coming out SO nicely. Day one buy for me ๐Ÿ˜Ž to keep it in my library.. ...and once the VR is supported, I think I will kiss my wife and kids, take a week long holidays and... ๐Ÿ‘
