  1. I've also had multiple times that, I get a kill after I have bailed out, and am not credited said kill in TAW (in game i do get credited). Note that this not always the case, sometimes TAW credits me the kill too http://taw.stg2.de/pilot_sortie.php?id=31381&name==FSB=HandyNasty
  2. A wise proverb says "never 2 without 3". We got new campaign, new patch, therefore we'll get new DD
  3. 1) I agree that it's good that wings don't fall off so easily 2) yesterday I had exactly the same situation with a 109 whose wings looked more like swiss cheese that actaul wings
  4. Tip that works for me when landing any plane without tail lock (spit, LaGG,La5,...) When you land, consider keeping a bit of throttle (~10% or so). The little amount of thrust makes it easier to control the slowing down. Controlling breaking will be easier as well. Your landing run will be longer but that shouldn't be a problem.
  5. From DD 208 (19 Oct): "Of course, we have many discussions about potential ways of improving the project in the near future and more distant plans. We can't disclose what we're discussing yet, but when we'll be able to tell you we're sure you'll be surprised and amused by the new prospects." From Jason's message from 01 November, concerning feedback feature "We will then analyze your responses and try and apply your answers to current and future plans. " Knowing the Devs, I'm sure the feedbacks they received have been analyzed. It seems logical to me that they make at least some slight adjustments to their future plannings based on said feedbacks, and that the feedback isn't just some PR-stunt with no sequel at all. Now what I'd like is the following : A description / explanation of future plans + how the player feedback influenced these plans. I do agree this would seem more like a Christmas-DD to me than a 7th-of-December-DD
  6. Did some tests: Without the canopy, the G-4 loses ~32kph max level speed on deck in boosted mode Without the canopy, the G-14 loses ~35kph max level speed on deck in boosted mode Drag does increase.
  7. Recently I tried gunning myself in a bf110, while a buddy of mine was flying it. One thing I noticed was my complete inability to hit our pursuer (a MiG) whenever our 110 did a maneuver. Even slight maneuvers threw off my aim completely for ~2 seconds, until I could readjust to the maneuvering. Problem was, my buddy was throwing a new input every second (negative G, sideslip, turn, ...), and didn't do "steady maneuvers" and as such I could never aim even close to our pursuer because I was constantly adjusting for previous maneuvers. I actually managed to shoot our rudder and fuselage because of the hard maneuvers, but didn't come close to the MiG Conclusion : gunners are too accurate under maneuvering situations. ALL GUNNERS. We only notice it most with peshka, since it combines speed (you 're longer in 6, with flatter trajectory), lethality of the 12.7mm, durability, and its ability to jostle plane around which makes hitting it harder, while gunners aim doesn't seem to be too much thrown off.
  8. I don't think it is a wololo-week (don't abuse of wololo else it loses its power in the most crucial moments). Just something small and lighthearted would be good enough for me.
  9. I'd like to send PM to Kathon (or other TAW admin), but I apparently cannot send Kathon a PM through the forum?? Any help?
  10. ty for explanation. Had forgotten that aspect. Additional question though : does a "ditched" airplane count as a "lost airplane"? My pilot stats say I lost 1 plane (the ditched one), but does that ditched one then also count in the global numbers of planes lost?
  11. i got badly damaged last run but managed to land without wing loss or engine killing. Still, the plane counts and "ditched"... Is this normal, or was this due to the server being so laggy? I mean, in 3.006 it would have counted as a "landed".
  12. About the survivability of the engine, and correct me if I'm wrong (I am not that knowledgable in engines), but wouldn't that be an issue of fuel quality? The 87 octane the germans used vs the 95 (100?) octane of the VVS. The low octane grade of the fuel of the LW made engine life rather short, no?
  13. That is what Smokejumper said : It [the Ishak] can't catch it [an Emil] in a flat turn nor outturn it
  14. The simplest option (not the best) is to leave them as they are when you're in combat. Most plane don't necessarily benefit much from changing yaw trim in combat (pitch trim is more useful in my opinion), and it adds workload. Also, when you set yaw trim at 0% fo the P40, you set yaw for a "low speed high throttle & pitch" settings if I recall right. This is not always the case in combat. If you'd happen to dive away and reach high speeds, you'd not be coordinated If you really want to go into yaw trimmers, I'd suggest you to remember what yaw trimmer settings make your plane fly coordinated (ball in the center) under specific flight conditions. I say 'remember' because that's easier than to look at ball in combat situations. : "P-40 needs ...% yaw trim when climbing at 150mph; 3000rpm; 42 inches boost. Then ball is in center". "P-40 needs ...% yaw trim when diving at 400mph; 3000rpm; 50 inches boost. Then ball is in center". "P-40 needs ...% yaw trim when diving at 400mph; 2600rpm; 0 inches boost. Then ball is in center". and so on and so forth.
  15. i think yes but haven't tested it rigorously. Timer exceeded after 3-4 minutes (had game sped up so really not precise). Plus it was only 1 test. To get more accurate picture of engine timer, you need multiple tests i think
  16. under those settings + 100% mixture, i got 583 kph (364mph) at deck... Kuban autumn, full fuel, extra ammo and 8 guns,
  17. I rather suppose it will be like we got the La-5F (early version) from the La-5 , through an engine modification. Releasing it under collector planes would be just a plain mistake in my opinion from a communication / marketing point of view. That is, of course, if we ever get 150 octane modification - for which I am quite positive. Why am I positive? Well, as shown by various documents and arguments in the previous discussions, the case for 150 octane is stronger or equal than the case for 1.98ATA. We got 1.98ATA, ergo we'll get 150 octane.
  18. There has been heated argumentation over the last months on whether 1.98ATA did see service and whether 150 octane did see service. And while I don't want to get that argument all over again here in this thread (1.98ATA is here and it's obviously gonna stay as it is), the fact they added the 1.98ATA for the Bf109K-4 is the single most potent argument for 150 octane for the allied birds (in forms of modifications). Advocates of 150 octane therefore should - in my eyes - be happy with the 1.98ATA mod.
  19. I've found that on combat mode (100% throttle and pitch, no boost), you'll run faster with auto-rich mixture (85% mixture). On boosted mode you'll gain 5kph-8kph top speed when going 100% mixture (full rich afaik). Also you can fully close oil rads (it adds like 8kph indicated) At 1000m alt (roughly 3000ft), I got to go 551kph indicated (344 mph)
  20. My test show me it still does overheat. My test : Kuban autumn climbing in boosted mode speed from 280kph-300kph Fully open rads overheat at around 4500m.
  21. please something that just doesn't have anything to do with the upcoming planes, I can't handle hearing/seeing something about these without actually getting my hands on them Maybe - a look at the advancements on the different maps - a look at how AirMarshall would be implemented - an explanation on how they're implementing high-mach effects and what effects it'll have on flight characteristics for different planes - ...
  22. That's what I noticed but my question is whether it's correct. I've always thought/read that it couldn't boost in 2nd supercharger gear.
  23. I've always thought the boost (Forsazh) on La-5(F) only increases manifold pressure (MP) at low enough altitudes (under 2.2k - 2.5k give or take, depending on outside temp and velocity) AND only in 1st supercharger gear. I was therefore quite surprised to notice yesterday that activating boost at 4500 meters in 2nd supercharger does increase MP (and thus top speed). That occured in a MP server, same was observed in QMB Am I mistaken about boost only working down low? Or is this a bug?
  24. I wonder whether the K4 will come with flettner tabs for rudder and/or ailerons. Can someone who knows better than me give info on how common those were on K-4's?
  25. I completely agree here. Also, the Jug and Mustang will be better performing in serious servers like TAW where one is more compelled to maintain discipline, compared to more casual servers. 2nd propeller blade is indeed a notorious weak spot in WW2 warbirds.
