  1. Copy that. Must be a botched install.... I am planning to uninstall the whole smash and try it again. Thank you!
  2. Thanks Jordan, I will delete the BoM installation folder and see what happens. I purchased BoS when it came out and subsequently purchased BoM so that is my install sequence. I will add this to my other post specific to my merged installation question. Thank you for your assistance and wish me luck! -Taz
  3. Hello, Basic information: I started BoS the other day when the 2.006 update came out. So I downloaded and installed it without an issue for BoS. I also own BoM. I didn't realize at the time the even though it is a "merged installation" I needed to launch BoM to update BoM to 2.006. Thus BoM downloaded the 4.5gb +/- patch and updated last night. My BoS and BoM are installed in themselves separate directories (BoS and BoM respectfully). I just launch the BoS.exe to fly and do see both the BoS and BoM banners in the top left corner. I purchased BoS when it came out and subsequently purchased BoM so that is my install sequence. I have this question included as another "sub-question" in a separate thread in this forum but felt it would be best to separate it. Thank you for you time and assistance in advance, -Taz
  4. OK. So if I go and delete the BoM installation ALL of my BoM aircraft / maps and content will remain intact??? My concern / confusion is that since BoM updated independently yesterday after launching it. Now if I delete that installation I will loose content and / or have to reinstall the whole smash :-( I have a folder for BoS AND a folder for BoM.....
  5. 216th_Jordan, Thank you very much for your reply and information. Did I then somehow install something incorrect since my BoM updated separately from BoS? I have been just launching BoS and I do see the BoS and BoM banners in the top left pane then using the sim....
  6. Hello, Forgive me if these are "why don't I know the answer to this already" questions... Basic information: I started BoS the other day when the 2.006 update came out. So I downloaded and installed it without an issue for BoS. I also own BoM. I didn't realize at the time the even though it is a "merged installation" I needed to launch BoM to update BoM to 2.006. Thus BoM downloaded the 4.5gb +/- patch and updated last night. When I launched BoS the 10 days of Autumn was locked. When I launched BoM the 10 days of Autumn was locked. I had read elsewhere in the forum that there were 5 keys graciously provided to 5 lucky winners of ones generosity. Questions: * Do I need to update BoS and BoM independently even though I only launch BoS from the merged installation? * What is the 10 days of autumn and is another purchase required to activate this update / add-on. Sincere thanks for your help in advance, Cheers! -Taz
  7. Hello BoS flyers, My thanks for the reply's and the different views on the subject I have posted. There appears to be some confusion on what my topic is trying to bring forward and express. The options in the BoS and BoM to "remove some of the clutter in the cockpit" are understood and have been applied. Thank you for reminding and or allowing others to understand those options if they haven't already. The in sim text (i.e. I’m wounded!) being changed to an option would be very useful and truly realistic. Repopulating with “points” such as “50% for emergency landing” and “0” points because of “friendly fire” is to me game like. This could become an option as well. Bottom line to me is that the sim is fantastic in many ways. So much that the other elements mentioned above are not a compliment to the sim. I just was wondering if the ability to fly the sim with a couple of additional options to further enhance the sim to completely feel as 100% sim is possible. This could be accomplished without taking away the current configuration of features that others enjoy and respect . ;-) Options to enable or enable / disable certain sim content is not an earth shattering task. A few "else or if then statements" are easy to configure / enable. The BoS team has built something incredible with further and enormous potential. The fact that the PC world has this sim is a wonderful accomplishment and tribute to those of us who are not absorbed by the console interface. All the best, -Taz
  8. Hello BoS development team and all BoS flyers, Myself and good friend of my mine, (a fellow BoS aviator) wanted to share some thoughts and insight concerning BoS. Out of the gate we would like to extend our sincere thanks for BoS and the team that created it! Hard work and dedication always yields success!! Why limit the simulations potential for a larger market by not offering the option to fly it like the flight simulation already is at its core! It is completely apparent that the BoS and the simulation series are incredibly detailed with tremendous attention to flight physics / dynamics. This is only boosted by the phenomenal scenery and graphics that your engine provides. We feel that it is an incredible “flight simulation game” with the “flight simulator” portion hampered by the gamming element. Can or will BoS yield the “option” to fly (F.O.R.) Full On Real? Perhaps include a simple check box to disable the game side of the simulation? Suggestions: · Rework BoS so that misc. in sim. text, (I’m wounded!) are removed. · Before repopulating, remove screen with “points” such as “50% for emergency landing” and “0” points because of “friendly fire”. · Remove any non-real world “luxuries” such as the map that shows your actual position, on screen instruments – (compass), plane configuration clues - (flap position, throttle setting, mixture %), etc. · If these items are to be included in future patches/upgrades, perhaps include a simple check box to disable them all entirely for those of us who want F.O.R. · We think that in sim chat should have said check box for sure. It is distracting to see a chat box pop up just because someone wants to say “Nice shot” or “Hello”. Share your thoughts about the flight at the officers club (debrief map menu) after the mission if you should survive ;-) Thank you for your time and feedback!
  9. S! Gentlemen (S! is short hand for rendering a Salute) I have DL'd them and will look these over. Thank your for responding so quickly! Cheers, -TazMan
  10. Hello, I am trying to locate a detailed manual or documentation for the ME. The ME is very powerful but there are so many icons with obvious functionality but not a lick of what they are or do... Just as a simple example: * Once in the ME and open up the window for Complex Trigger Management. * What does On-Cylinder mean? * What does On Damage Threshold / Off - step mean? The list goes on for so many things.... It would make sense that there is something that in detail that describes what everything is and or does. I have seen the ME videos on line however there so many assumptions that are made with the viewers prior knowledge of the ME. Please tell me that there is something that allows us to read and follow such that we can fully understand the complete operation. Sincere thanks and appreciation for support with my post, -TazMan
  11. JimTM and KT, Great news!!! All is up and running now with the Clean Slate A map on the dserver and the BoS simulator. All was accomplished via the provided instructions: 1. In the editor File menu, click Open. 2. Type *.* in the File Name box and press Enter. 3. Navigate to your game folder and then to the directory containing the mission that you want to edit. The singleplayer directory is \data\Missions. The multiplayer directory is \data\Multiplayer\Dogfight. 4. Choose your mission file that ends with .msnbin and click Open. The editor opens the binary file. You can now edit the mission. 5. Save the mission with the original name or a new name. Your mission is saved with a .mission suffix. I launched the ME and loaded KT's map then saved it in the BoS multiplayer / dogfight folder. Updated my sds file for the dserver and all is working ;-) Thank you so much for your understanding and patience. S! -Taz
  12. Hello, Thank you JimTim for your reply in the other forum. I have looked at the information from the link you provided but unfortunately it doesn't point me in any direction of resolution. Here is my sequence: * My friend KT sent me (4) files that were created from the mission editor (ME). * I put all four exports from the ME into the multiplayer / dogfight folder. * I launch dserver and point to the multiplayer / dogfight folder to load the map then save and close. * I launch dserver and the map loads without issue. * I launch BoS or BoM - then go to Multiplayer - enter my room I created via dserver - next I receive the #10017 File Transfer Error message. Please forgive me but I cant find or decipher out of the information provided what is wrong. I really cant imagine its something difficult to fix but I could really use some detailed instructions. As always my sincere thanks and appreciation for any assistance in advance, -Taz

  14. Hello, I am not sure if this should be a separate topic but since I am the fellow aviator with KT he is referring to I wanted to reply for assistance. KT did send me the map files he created and we flew in multiplayer on Saturday such that I could host them as well in his absence. Note: I have both BoS and BoM installed. I tried putting the files in both and or either the (BoS / BoM/ Multiplayer / dogfight folders) and am receiving the #10017 File Transfer Error. Any thoughts...? Thanks in advance for assistance, -Taz
  15. S! (Shorthand for rendering a Salute) Fantastic accomplishment KT!!! My sincere thanks to ALL the BoS individuals who helped with the feedback and details! KT: Did you have any other questions or issues that you ran into? Cheers! -Taz
