  1. I read this but don't understand it, because this makes no sense. The steam version of great battles is the same as the non steam version, only differing in how you buy it. Are you confusing GB with an earlier generation of IL-2? That's not so hard to do, because both CLoD and 1946 are still played. CLoD just got an expansion, even, so the naming of the games can be confusing.
  2. I would tell you that if you wanted to learn how to fly effectively, to check out the Air Combat Tutorial library on YouTube, as well as Sheriff’s Sim Shack. You can also have a look at a video I did for our own channel (Air Combat Group) for control setup. I’ll note the last one is now 2 years + old and not up to date with some changes that have been made in game. https://www.youtube.com/c/TheAirCombatTutorialLibrary https://www.youtube.com/c/SheriffsSimShack https://www.youtube.com/c/AirCombatGroup https://youtu.be/OBG2-n9OhNA
  3. Perhaps if there was a community that existed, that had a private run server only for members that had no such things..
  4. "Our engineering department improved the FM and systems modeling for a number of planes, including Yak-7 and Bf-110."
  5. Perhaps you could ask Donkey about how he set up ours? https://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/acg-pam-2/index.php#/campaign-info/17/missions/221/synop/275 If it’s not showing, click on “want to know more” under pilot status.
  6. You don’t. The only time I’ve ended up on both sides is when I tried to fly German and then realized (probably like Drifter) that the German teamstack was so bad I needed to switch sides to make it more fair. Also, don’t expect ACG’s board to rule on following any such rule, because the organization on ACGs rules applies only to our server and campaign. Outside of that individuals can do whatever they want, within reason. Also, “squadron” in ACG means the unit you are assigned to, not the organization as a whole, so that is confusing. I don’t even know many of the peopl
  7. Curious how 37mm hits will affect aircraft, especially with the yak-9T coming.
  8. Speak of the devil...or the Kung Flu, as the case may be:
  9. Any answer on why this acts the way it does? I would not think that wheel door covers should act as speedbrakes.
  10. Or, better. Airventure. Where you can see that and much, much more. We had 18 P-51's taking off at once last year.
  11. I think some of the people above have unrealistic expectations. Early Yak-9 and late yak-9 are like P-51B to P-51D which are different aircraft in game.
  12. Hail gun jesus, our lord and firepower savior
  13. Which is something that constantly is overlooked, is that when it was given the 1.42 ATA, it was essentially converted to a G4.
  14. If the addition of this plane makes it so that the modification for the MG-131 also becomes available for the A4, I'll be happy with it.
  15. This is patently false as can be seen by the graphics shown in this thread. I don't know what they've done but it's not an improvement.
  16. I've been...well, raging in various discords about this issue because it's killing my fun with the game. According to steam, I have 1300 hours playing this game. However, I've had recently a series of severe personal issues that basically stopped me from playing for over 6 months, which means that I went from what would be referred to as the "old system" - where there was a 10km bubble - to the new. I'll never be a super ace but I would previously have characterized myself as competent. Usually landed my plane. That sort of player. Right now however, I never do because I'm getting killed by gu
  17. The in game splash screens are very nice and I'd use them as wallpaper if they'd let me
  18. Should be noted though currently in game the largest thing you'll be shot at is a destroyer.
  19. You mean the velkuri luki map, which is a complete map created by a mod team and officially adopted.
  20. Map is released when it's ready and not before. It's also usually one of the last things that's released.
  21. That should be correct, but I'm not sure how well that would work. No single player at all? Would be hard to learn how to take off and land. Someone buy a Po-2 for a buddy that doesn't have the game and let me know how well that works
  22. Only difference is if you buy through steam. Steam treats BoS as a "base game" and the rest as DLC, so you must buy BoS in order to buy any of the others. This is because of how valve treats the game and does not reflect reality. As noted you can buy any one product and be able to play. You can even play on multiplayer maps you don't own, and be a gunner in planes you don't own as well.
  23. Good listing of what is missing currently in the aircraft. #3 is common to all bombers in the sim and has always been underwhelming. Personally I find these things irksome, because all of them existed in earlier versions of the sim. Hell, as has already been pointed out, War Thunder is better in this regard, which is sort of amazing.
