  1. A little improvement. After messing with it a few times, I got the game to recognize my stick again, except now the ailerons are reversed. ???!!! All other functions are responding normal, but left stick shows right roll and right stick shows left roll. I've continued messing with it and still no fix for that. It's hard for me to believe this thing was working perfectly the night before and the next morning, but later in the day...... nothing worked! Took a while to get it to where it is now (with reversed ailerons), but it's a step in the right direction at least.
  2. Hey Folks! I'm new to this forum, but not combat sims. I'm having trouble getting answers to a couple of questions, so I'll give some quick background here. Shortly after dinosaurs became extinct, I was into a sim called European Air War. You might recall that one. It was fun for a few years and I still have it today. In 2004 I was introduced to an online sim called Warbirds. I joined some of my fellow 352nd FG Association members who started a 352nd FG squad and flew with them until around 2010 or so. I grew frustrated with that sim (as well as some of the players), and left it. During all this time I was aware of IL-2 but never really looked into it until this past Fall. I was seeing lots of great videos of the game on You Tube and thought, "what the heck? I'll get it". The graphics looked like they improved greatly from what I saw before, and I learned it was due to "upgrade" patches developed by other players, and could be downloaded online. So today..... I have two questions. I found IL-2 Ultimate Edition on Amazon for cheap, and got it back in November. It has Forgotten Battles, FB Ace Expansion Pack, 1946, and Pacific Fighters. My assumption was that I could load this and get the graphics improvements online..... BAM, good to go! Nope. Question 1: What I'm finding is that I apparently need one of the other versions to do that? Not sure which one if so. Can someone steer me in the right direction with this? After playing the game as it is for the past 3 months, I wasn't so worried about rushing to get the improved graphics, since I was having plenty of fun as is. I made two battles in "Quick Mission Builder" which I flew a lot, and also one of the "Single Missions", called "Comrades in Arms". I shot down a lot of FW-190s, and after many attempts I FINALLY got a kill on a BF-109!! They were the most challenging in that battle, but YES! Finally got one!! The next day my stick quit working. Here's what's happening: I have a CH Products Fighter Stick and Rudder Pedals. They are working just fine. The USB ports are working just fine. I can go into Programs and pull up Settings, calibrate the stick and pedals just fine. I can go into the game menu under Controls and program the buttons on the stick just fine. But when I go into the game menu for Hardware to calibrate and check the stick and pedals.... I get nothing??!!! And my controls don't work in the game anymore. Dead. I recall when going into the Hardware option that it would say "CH Fighter Stick" in the drop down, but it doesn't anymore. I'm almost sure it's a simple "point-click" issue on a setting somewhere, but damned if I can find it. Question 2: What am I missing here? Like I said, it seems it would be a simple "point-click" fix, but I'm not finding it. Sorry for the long post, but I would greatly appreciate and thank in advance any help with this. Looking forward to getting this thing working again. I'm suffering withdrawls!!
  3. Thanks VBF-12. So the version I have IL-2 UE (which has Forgotten Battles, Forgotten Battles ACE Expansion Pack, 1946, and Pacific Fighters), is an older one superseded by IL-2 BOX....... correct? I'll check that link, but aside from fixing my stick issue, I'm hoping this one can be upgraded with better graphics patches. Probably not, but hey, one can hope. I did some more testing and found that the stick and pedals are responding to the calibration in IL-2 settings, but still not in the games menu option "Hardware". Oddly, the rudder pedal brakes are registering, but not the movement of the pedals or the stick. Somewhere there is a setting, and "click this box" option that is screwed up. I'm sure it's something simple if it's working in the settings under the game's breakdown menu in programs, but not fully in the game itself. I'll keep messing with it and see what happens.
  4. I'm aware of that. But I would imagine the set up of controllers and programming whatever stick you use is the same..... or is it? I saw the title of this forum was IL-2 Sturmovik (which is a type of Russian plane, I know. ), and my game "IL-2 Sturmovik - Ultimate Edition", I figured this would be the place to ask for advise. Is there another forum specific to "Ultimate Edition"? Or is UE completely different? With the exception that the graphics aren't as fancy as the videos I've seen on YouTube, it appears to be the same thing. And the graphics, from what I understand can be 'upgraded' from available downloads by players who created the improvements? Hope I'm getting all this right.
  5. I recently bought IL-2 Series Ultimate Edition off of Amazon (pretty cheap too!). I'm running Windows 7 on my PC and using a CH Products "Fighter Stick USB" and Pro Pedals. I got the game in early December and have been having a blast with it!! Yesterday something weird happened, and I'm sure it's a simple fix, but I'm clueless on a lot of PC and gaming connectivity issues when they occur. Everything had been working fine, although I've had a continuous hat button programming issue, I've been able to deal with it. Last night it quit responding in the game. I can program my hat buttons in the "Controller" menu and it recognizes my inputs when assigning the buttons and switches. Yet when I go in to actually fly, my stick and pedals are dead...... nothing. Keyboard still works, but in the sim itself, my stick and pedals aren't being recognized. The fact that the sim is recognizing them during controller programming and not in the action of flying, lends me to believe there's a minor issue with pointing and clicking on a setting somewhere, but I can't find where. Like I said, in the "Controller" menu, the sim is recognizing my stick, but in "Hardware" menu (where you calibrate and program any dampening), it's not recognizing my stick and pedals, nor when I try to fly. Any suggestions? BIG thanks in advance!! Blue352
