  1. I'm having this exact same issue. The game has worked perfectly for years with all of my controllers. All of a sudden it doesn't see my rudder pedals. It "sees" my stick and throttle, but once in the actual aircraft, it doesn't respond to any control inputs. I have deleted all of the content of the data/inputs folder to force it to generate new files. This didn't fix it. I have uninstalled the game, downloaded a new copy, reinstalled, and this didn't fix it either. At 20gb's, reinstalling is no fun. It seems like there's something persistent that is not being deleted/regenerated during the uninstall/reinstall process. I've searched for any remnant that may be causing IL-2 to "remember" my control inputs and settings but I can't find anything. Very frustrating. It worked perfectly for years, now, all of a sudden, broken. All of my controllers work fine in DCS and Rise of Flight. I need to clean out the man cave today and do some much needed cable management. My plan is, uninstall IL2 (again) and this time, manually look through the PC for anything left behind. Reinstall IL2 with all of my controllers unplugged. Go through several game boot sequences and system restarts with no controllers plugged in, then finally add my controllers back and see what happens. It's a tedious solution but I'll be cleaning and organizing while it's going on so this is the least painful time to do something like this. Will let you know how things turn out. Hopefully, there are no settings being "saved to the cloud" that will load back in and undo all the work. I'll see if I can stay offline after reinstall.
  2. I love everything IL-2 does. And own it all (except for Tanks, which may come as a Christmas gift). Anyway.... I'll be that guy who says I'm not phased until I'm flying a Wildcat over Guadalcanal. Or a Hellcat over Leyte Gulf. Or a Corsair over Okinawa. Yes, I have standards. Yes, I've grown extremely weary of all this German/Russian stuff. I'm an American, and I want to fight "Our War". :) Give me that and I'll shut the hell up.
  3. This has stoked my interest in RoF again. Can anyone tell me where to find the "PAF" mod? I'd like to check that out.
  4. Nice! Where might one find the template for the Albatros (and the other FC aircraft for that matter)? I've skinned DCS aircraft but am a noob in IL2 and would like to give it a go...
  5. I've only just turned 50, but I feel 80, and have the attitude and cheery disposition of a 95 year old. I'm reasonably continent. That said, I do have a beautiful soul. I'd like to join. I'm in Florida. I'm self-employed which, by all practical standards means, I'm unemployed. So am as free as my drinking allows. If you'll have me, please send details. I'm arguably competent in the fast movers of DCS. Played RoF a little. Pretty new to WWI.
  6. Windows 10 64-bit Update 3.101 Crash on launch. Get the black logo screen then crash to desktop. Event viewer reports the following: Faulting application name: Il-2.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x5d027355 Faulting module name: SoundEngine.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5d027069 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000000003994 Faulting process id: 0x1f08 Faulting application start time: 0x01d52a402a2612f3 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\game\Il-2.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\game\SoundEngine.dll Report Id: 019f6cbf-446b-403c-8dd2-808e3e52b0eb Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: I have integrated sound on my motherboard (Realtek High Definition Audio) as well as a PCIe sound card (Creative Labs). When I switched audio from Realtek to Creative Labs, IL-2 launched and ran without issue. Posted in other threads. Mods please delete if redundant. Just wanted to make sure the devs see this. It's a muddy issue given the widespread audio problems stemming from Win 10 updates over the last year. Feel free to contact me for additional system details.
  7. Figured it out. I have integrated sound on my motherboard (Realtek High Definition Audio) as well as a PCIe sound card (Creative Labs). When I switched audio from Realtek to Creative Labs, IL-2 launched and ran without issue. Apparently 3.101 does not like Realtek. Makes sense given the error logged in Event Viewer. I'll create a new post with this info to hopefully get it on the dev's radar. They can delete if redundant. Hope this gives anyone else experiencing the issue an avenue of investigation. Appreciat the help Geronimo! Looked back through many backups and this file's permissions were all read/write, so wasn't a thing for me. No doubt it's helped others and is definitely an easy fix for those lucky enough to have the issue limited to that file. If Windows actually worked right, it'd be Mac - but Mac doesn't have a WWII flight sim. So here I am. 😉
  8. Worked fine prior to updating to 3.101 tonite. Now, when I launch the game, I get the black logo screen for about 5 seconds then dumped back to the desktop. Windows 10 64-bit, up to date. 9. Same here. Event viewer shows this fault: Faulting application name: Il-2.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x5d027355 Faulting module name: SoundEngine.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5d027069 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000000003994 Faulting process id: 0x1f08 Faulting application start time: 0x01d52a402a2612f3 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\game\Il-2.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\game\SoundEngine.dll Report Id: 019f6cbf-446b-403c-8dd2-808e3e52b0eb Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Ran fine until update 3.101 Feel better knowing I'm not the only one. Guess I'll focus on DCS until this gets sorted out.
  10. Just did the most recent update tonight and am experiencing the same issue. I also tried Gordon200's IL2.exe file with no effect. I launch the game it, get the black logo screen for about 5sec, then get dumped back out to the desktop. I am not on a Steam version of the game. Event viewer shows this: Faulting application name: Il-2.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x5d027355 Faulting module name: SoundEngine.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5d027069 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000000003994 Faulting process id: 0x1f08 Faulting application start time: 0x01d52a402a2612f3 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\game\Il-2.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\game\SoundEngine.dll Report Id: 019f6cbf-446b-403c-8dd2-808e3e52b0eb Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Il-2.exe 1.0.0.1 5d027355 SoundEngine.dll 0.0.0.0 5d027069 c0000005 0000000000003994 1f08 01d52a402a2612f3 C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\game\Il-2.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\game\SoundEngine.dll 019f6cbf-446b-403c-8dd2-808e3e52b0eb
  11. I'm not brave enough to install it. I'll let someone else be that guinea pig.
  12. Ok. Got them mixed up. Ugh... My brain can only hold so much and it's currently quite full and fragmented. Thanks for clarifying!
  13. Just build a new PC and have been going through the hell of migrating everything to it. All new installs of all my sims. I could swear that in the quick mission setup, when selecting a skin, I could see preview thumbnails of each custom skin. Now, I don't see these - just a text title of the skin. With the amount of skins I have, previews become pretty important. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong? I play DCS, IL-2 BoS, CoD Blitz, 1946, and RoF. it get's hard keeping it all straight. Most of my skins include a .bmp file that shows the skin in use. I've tried placing this in a few places in the folder structure, but so far, no joy.
  14. I must be missing something that's in plain sight, but I can't seem to get all of the guns to fire. Just getting the two cowling guns to work. Looked through the keybinds and don't see anything Dolphin-specific. What am I missing here?
