  1. @BM357_TinMan: that's exactly what I found although a couple of friends have the latest higher res types and swear by it. However I already have the 'real estate' of my monitors and the DCS immersion is great with viewports but I have had to go back to one monitor in IL-2 due to the stretching. @SeaSerpent: I fly with my squad buddies, usually in spread formations, and as I said in earlier posts it is impossible to judge separation in the side monitors due to the stretching. I suspect Jason won't bother with viewports because of VR which is a great shame because it means we will have to fork out around £2,000 to upgrade our GPUs and buy the VR kit on top of our already high spec PCs.. That's not going to happen any time soon for many players and some will never go VR. It would be nice to hear from Jason on this.
  2. Hi again SYN_Vander. Is it possible to create larger flights? Our Squad has 10 - 12 guys online on a good night and up to three fighter sections of four would be great or 8 fighters and 4 bombers (we fly both). I know there is the server load issue but we could adjust the numbers to suit the server.
  3. Absolutely! I already had three monitors when Rift was just a twinkle in its mother's eye. Anyway, although Rift, etc, 'puts you in the cockpit' (I have tried it but didn't like the resolution issue) a four monitor setup goes a long way towards the same result. I bought 1 first then 2 then 1 more over time. If someone was going to spend $600 on four monitors I would definitely suggest VR except for, IMHO, the shortcomings of no switchable IL-2 cockpit or finger touch facility to go with it and of course the price tag of around $1400 for the latest. If you use the keyboard or programmed panels like CHM you can't see them and HOTAS doesn't deliver enough. So c'mon Jason. Help us out here?
  4. I may be misunderstanding but I meant the custom settings in the DServer such as icons, padlock, etc. I don't see the sds file for the Coop generated by your utility (looks good btw) so perhaps I am not understanding. I am used to setings these up for Dogfigbt servers and assumed your utility was generating one.... somewhere
  5. Could you add options for Custom configuration of server?
  6. We have been waiting a long time for the future development plans whcih included "re-vamped triple monitor support" but which link has now become broken. 'Muiti-monitor' or Triple Screen was addressed some time ago but only resulted in a three-screens-wide graphic view which produces very bad stretching on the side screens. Nothing has been done to provide multi-monitor viewports as in DCS. Yes, I fly DCS too but my Squad is firmly based here in IL-2 BG. Given that this is a combat simulation and it is common practice to fly line abreast or finger four it is impossible to maintain formation because the stretched side views give a false impression of how far apart we are. The stretching gets worse the further left or right we look and frequently the pair on the far side of a four ship spread look closer than the leader. It is so bad that for IL-2 BG I have gone back to single screen with side screens turned off, in other words I have gone back years in capability due to the IL-2 BG graphics limitations. It really is disappointing to have to live in the past. I believe there are many triple screen users out there who share this view. I expect there is much focus on improving VR but I am not sold on VR especially in IL-2 BG with no clickable cockpit because of the need to work 'blind' with keys and controls so multi-monitor will remain my first choice for the foreseeable future. Can we please have true multi-monitor support with adjustable viewports including the capability of a fourth monitor below for instruments? This gives very good immersion close to that provided by VR, is more 'user friendly' and at a far more economical cost.
  7. Then IMHO it's badly titled, badly conceived and short on aircraft particularly the Typhoon which was a major player throughout that period and, yes, I'd then agree the SpitXIV.
  8. My Bad. What I really meant was that it was billed as their high altitude defence fighter whilst Bodenplatte was essentially a low level LW GA mission. There is a limit to what they will churn out for Bodenplatte and it has already been declared. The Spit XIV can come later.
  9. No. Later maybe, a nice to have but not relevant to Bodenplatte. <<<< EDIT My Bad. What I really meant was that it was billed as their high altitude defence fighter whilst Bodenplatte was essentially a low level LW GA mission. What should have been included is the Typhoon. Whilst not as glamorous as the Tempest, three times as many RAF Squadrons in the OOB were Typhoons compared with the Tempest but I am really looking forward to the Tempest
  10. How do I reset my password on the stat forum? http://coconutside.eu:8080/en/profile/login/
  11. Sorry to return so late to this but if by 'scale selections' you mean adjust how many AI missions are actually released, and when, you can set the counter "Counter Random Sorties " to say five and it will only release five. With six possibilities it extends the repeatability of the scenario and of course you would adjust the output timers to suit 5 missons within the Dserver timeout.
  12. if it's coconut specific you could try posting here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/32801-coconuts-dynamic-campaign-expert-and-normal/?page=19
  13. We have been experiencing the same but have found that most of us do get in after a while. Several people have suggested it is the inability of the server to admit too many people at once, sort of a queue? Have you tried low numbers of connections servers?
  14. I wondered about the forum to post this in but I thought "Groups" = aircraft/vehicles and this was more Mission Building although it is saved as a Group. Sorry about the size, I was working in the Kuban map. Maybe just import it there, resize and resave?
  15. I have been playing with the sortie randomiser and wanted to randomise the outputs even further with sortie release timers. I wanted to create some simple, unpredictable and easily changeable missions without getting into heavily scripted scenarios. The standard randomiser can be made to randomly select and activate an AI sortie at fixed repeat times by adjusting the the re-open inputs/outputs timer but I wanted to be able to release the sorties at irregular times, e.g. mission 1 at 15 minutes, mission 2 at say 40 minutes followed quickly by mission 3 at 45 minutes (i.e. a 'wave' of attacks) and so on. The attached "6 way mission randomiser with release timers" allows the output release timers to be set as required whilst the random logic behind it unlocks the appropriate timers for the random selection before locking them again and deactivates the earlier selection chain so that it cannot be used again. Select the vertical column of output Release timers and change the times all at once in advanced properties, then the next vertical column, etc.. They are currently set to start at 15 minutes then every 27 minutes for 6 sorties in a 3 hour window ( I deliberately left them as regular times for now). Also there is a "Random OPs counter" currently set to 6 which stops the randomiser altogether and can be set to say 4 if you only want to release the first 4 random selections made, making familiarity with the total mission through repeated use more uncertain. You can of course increase the number of randomiser chains in the usual way. You can also move your AI missions around to quickly create a new random 6 sortie mission. 6 way mission randomiser with release timers.zip
  16. I am running three monitors side by side for panoramic effect and trying to add a central monitor below for cockpit instruments, all generated in game. This is easy to achieve in other sims (DCS, P3D) but I can't seem to find the settings for BoS. Figure A in the attached graphic is my Windows setup. These are not set up as Nvidia surround (for good reasons I won't bore you with). Figure B : I can persuade BoS to spread the view across the three monitors by hand editing startup.cfg as shown in B for desktop_centre = 1 through fullscreen = 0 Figure C : if I edit startup.cfg to read as shown with double height 2160, the image centre is anchored at the top middle monitor centre point instead of the top left of the image being anchored at the top left of the left hand screen as in figure B. Figure D : if I edit startup, cfg to 1920 x 2160 and set desktop_centre = 0 I get the result shown which gives me my instruments but I don't have full width view above. Figure E : if I set the full 5760 x 2160 and desktop_centre as 0 I get an offset view as shown. Question: how do I get the 5720 x 2160 image aligned across the whole set of monitors as in Figure F? I have played with all the values shown including desktop_centre = -1, 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 as a shot in the dark but no good. Does anyone have any ideas (or even the answer)?
  17. Absolutely loved the awful weather conditions on coconut on Sunday night. As one of our guys said, called for some airmanship. Wouldn't want it all the time but great for the occasional experience.
  18. OK. More progress coconut I followed your instructions and successfully set password into Config.yaml I started SturmivikServerControl and when DOS box settled I opened the browser to localhost:8083 and logged in ok. Question: you said " Follow the instruction, i.e. "SetPassword ..\..\ServerController\bin\config.yaml" I notice you did not include the folder \Release\ folder, i.e. \bin\Release\config.yaml. Could that be why the password isn't written to config.yaml? Perhaps it does not expect \Release\ in the write path? Also could that be the reason I have to open the browser by hand? Anyway, I went to the Schedule tab and Added my \sds\DynamicaCampaign which started DServer (also declared in the DOS box). Now, I had previously edited the sds file to read: [rotation] random = false file = "Dogfight\DynamicCampaign_1" file = "Dogfight\DynamicCampaign_2" [end] as suggested in an earlier post. However the DServer couldn't find those because of course they don't exist. So I changed the sds file to point towards my DynamicCampaign.msnbin file under \Multiplayer\Dogfight\. btw I am using a copy of one of the coconutexpert missions from my cache. That didn't work and I noticed DServer looking in \Multiplayer\ so I moved the mission files there and it worked. So I wonder if there is a path issue there (Campaign config.yaml talks about # These files are copied to <ServerDataDir>/Multiplayer/Dogfight ). DServer returned these messages: Failed to start Remote Console service on localhost port 8083 ===== DeathMatch mode ===== ===== Dedicated server ===== Brief info: Max clients = 85 TCP: 28000, UDP: 28000, Downloader: 28100, U/D Limits = 10240/10240 Login with UserName '##################'' (edited out) ... Login success Server is being created ... Server name 'KubanDynamicCampaign' and it loaded the mission. I don't know the implications of the first line and I don't have time right now to play out the mission and see if the server generates something new but I thought I pass this on for now, one step at a time Many thanks again for the help. I will get there!
  19. F# ?? Isn't that what is in the \Campaign\SturmovikServerControl\bin\Release\ folder? Is there something else I have to install? This is my current folder structure which I understood was correct now: C:\Campaign\ ............bin\[Campaign Files&folders] --------------------------------------------------> CampaignPluginConfig: H:\Campaign, CampaignPluginAssembly: H:\Campaign\bin\Campaign.dll, InstallPath: H:\Campaign\Bin\bin\Config.yaml ............data\[campaign data] ---------------------------------------------------------------> OutputDir: H:\Campaign\Data ............IL-2\ ...................[complete IL-2 installation] ------------------------------------------------> GameDirectory: H:\Campaign\IL-2 .........................including \bin\ folder ---------------------------------------------------> ServerBinDir: H:\Campaign\IL-2\bin .........................mission files under \Multiplayer\Dogfight\ .........................sds file in \IL-2\data\sds\ folder ----------------------------------> ServerSdsFile: \sds\DynamicCampaign.sds ........................and under \data\ -----------------------------------------------------------> ServerDataDir: H:\Campaign\IL-2\data ................................\binlogs\ ................................\logs\ ---------------------------------------------------------------------> LogDirectory: H:\Campaign\IL-2\data\logs ............\SetPassword\[Files] ............\SturmovikServerControl\[servercontrol folders] You seem to have your logs, multiplayer and dogfight folders outside the game folders. btw as explained, the SetPassword.exe in the \Campaign\SturmovikServerControl\bin\Release\ folder doesn't work, it gives error: Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'FSharp.Core, Version=4.4.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) at FSharp.Configuration.YamlConfigTypeProvider.Root..ctor(Boolean inferTypesFromStrings) at Program.ConfigurationFile..ctor() at Program.main(String[] argv) Doesn't explain though why the other \SetPassword\SetPassword.exe appears to run although when I enter a password the DOS screen just closes and I can't find a file dated today where the password may have been saved so I don't know if it is actually doing anything.
  20. Ok, thank you very much guys, some progress. coconut I had put the two server folders under \Campaign\. My text file was wrong when I first typed it. The original installation.txt did say: "Create a directory where to host the plug-in for SturmovikServerControl, e.g. C:\Campaign\Bin\" which confused me initially. AKA_Skorp, I have checked everything you said. Checked port set as 8083 all round and when the DOS window stayed open I opened the browser and went to http://localhost:8083 and sure enough I found the login page. [Note to self - must open login page manually] OP says "Enter your secret password". I entered the password created with SetPassword.exe under the \Campaign\SetPassword\ folder . Login Failed. As before, it wouldn't let me set a PW with SetPassword.exe in the \Campaign\SturmovikServerControl\bin\Release\ folder (see 4 posts up for error message). I feel as though I am getting somewhere but can't log in.
  21. The SetPassword.exe I used was in the SturmovikServerControl folder. The one in the SetPassword folder allowed be to input a password which is what I entered in the DynamicCampaign.sds RemoteConsole. Running SturmovikServerControl.exe gave me the same result as before. I should have mentioned that I copied my entire IL-2 installation to the \IL-2\ folder, put the DynamicCampaign.sds folder under \data\ and the mission files in \Dogfight\ as per the instructions.
  22. Guys this is incredibly confusing. I made the changes you suggested in your last posts. See the config txt files attached. I set the sds Remote Console login/password, my local network IP address (would that be 127.0.0.1 for local host?) and port 8991. I think that needed a mention in the instructions. Then I ran SetPassword and got: Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'FSharp.Core, Version=4.4.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) at FSharp.Configuration.YamlConfigTypeProvider.Root..ctor(Boolean inferTypesFromStrings) at Program.ConfigurationFile..ctor() at Program.main(String[] argv) I've no idea where to look to solve that. Still, I ran SturmovikServerControl.exe and got 2018-04-25 08:34:06.0836|INFO|SturmovikServerControl.ServerState|From Primary: SturmovikCampaign 1.16.5.0 2018-04-25 08:34:09.0836|INFO|<StartupCode$SturmovikServerControl>.$Main|main: Listening on http://localhost:8991/, http://192.168.1.199:8991/ 2018-04-25 08:34:09.0836|INFO|<StartupCode$SturmovikServerControl>.$Main|main: Ban checker started (nothing more) I am coming to the conclusion that there is much more to this than just setting up the config files and folder structure, maybe some background knowledge I just don't have. I also saw in one cmd window (I can't remember how) reference to "C:\Users\Johann\..... which makes me think there is some setup instruction missing. No offence intended, you are all really trying to help me, but nothing in the instructions told me to install and test the server first, as I read it the whole package was to be set up together. Also you said do not install the campaign plugin inside the SturmovikServerControl's directory but at the bottom of the install file I sent I showed my folder structure - is that correct or have I got it wrong? I even tried moving everything to C: drive and editing the configs in case there was some "C:" reference buried somewhere but no difference. I think I might have to give up on this. 23. I think I might be getting somewhere. Apart from my being a bit thick there were some file name anomalies like campaign, DynCampaign, DynamicCampaign and different port numbers in posts. Anyway I have gone through it all again. I am running the SturmovikServerControl in a cmd window to get any error messages. I wrote out all the steps I have taken in the attached Installation_klem.txt to try to assemble all the advice (hope I understood ok) and have included the two Config files as .txt. Can you see what I am doing wrong because..... Without the CampaignPluginConfig lines, as suggested by coconut, I finally managed to get a response and a new cmd window opened with the message: 2018-04-24 09:51:24.8776|INFO|<StartupCode$SturmovikServerControl>.$Main|main: Listening on http://localhost:8083/ 2018-04-24 09:51:24.9016|INFO|<StartupCode$SturmovikServerControl>.$Main|main: Ban checker started 2018-04-24 09:51:25.9796|ERROR|RConClient.Client|Failed to connect to game server: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8991 2018-04-24 09:52:27.0138|ERROR|RConClient.Client|Failed to connect to game server: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8991 2018-04-24 09:53:28.0432|ERROR|RConClient.Client|Failed to connect to game server: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8991 2018-04-24 09:54:29.0745|ERROR|RConClient.Client|Failed to connect to game server: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8991 2018-04-24 09:55:30.1058|ERROR|RConClient.Client|Failed to connect to game server: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8991 I tried port 8992 - same result I changed the ServerPort to 8083 as in Server config ControllerUrls and I got the new cmd window with the message: 2018-04-24 09:51:24.8776|INFO|<StartupCode$SturmovikServerControl>.$Main|main: Listening on http://localhost:8083/ 2018-04-24 09:51:24.9016|INFO|<StartupCode$SturmovikServerControl>.$Main|main: Ban checker started (nothing more) Seemed promising....... I then tried adding the following CampaignPluginConfig lines back into the Server Config but it returned the new cmd window with a yellow text which closed before I could read it (would you believe I even tried videoing it!) : # Optional configuration string of campaign system CampaignPluginConfig: "" Name: Secondary Description: No description yet ServerHostname: localhost ServerPort: 8991 (or 8992 or 8083) Login: rconlogin Password: rconpassword GameDirectory: H:\Campaign\IL-2 CampaignPluginAssembly: H:\Campaign\bin\Campaign.dll CampaignPluginType: Campaign.ServerControlPlugin.Plugin CampaignPluginConfig: H:\Campaign\bin\Config.yaml Any thoughts?
