  1. Left thumb makes sense if you consider that this then means you can concentrate on using the whole strength of your (usually dominant) right hand to hold the aircraft steady, and you won't have to loosen grip at all to hit the trigger. IIRC, don't Zero's have the gun button on the throttle for similar reasons? The loop at the top of the spade grip essentially gives you a mini-yolke type stick, and we know that twins and larger aircraft favour yolkes for greater flexibility of grips and to bring greater force to bear on the controls.
  2. Well all pilots were given a pretty nice Omega watch, and the Air Ministry isn't made of money! Don't you know there's a war on?
  3. Wanna see me some skins... Rnaf sea hurricane plz?
  4. If you look at this chaps typical responses and style in other threads, you'll get an idea. I advise not feeding them.
  5. Hurri - e7 would be a good pair I reckon. E7-i16 is a classic (though usually ends badly for me in my i-16) Yak-7b v G6 is always a tense one...
  6. What did you team the Hurri up with? E7?
  7. Devs currently doing one last walk around, kicking the tires and wiggling the ailerons, checking the wind direction... Good day for a flip don't you think?
  8. Isn't she lovely? Isn't she wonderful?
  9. Since there was no DD last week, I hoped high hopes of a DDDD today! Or possibly a DDsquared?
  10. just wanna see some red shoes
  11. You are clearly unfamiliar with allied aircraft design of ww2.
  12. gnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
  13. I just feel like all this is guaranteeing is that there will be fewer red players online than even there are now. But, hey, what do I know?
  14. 65% water rads & 45% water rads are conformal and provide best airflow / cooling benefits. We have no way to know when we are at those settings. IRL your ground crew would stick a piece of tape / paint on the control wheel.
  15. There are optimum settings for yak rads. In reality you'd mark the control wheel for these settings. We don't have the option to do this in game. Conclusion: (another) advantage to axis players who can rely on automation of their rads for optimum settings.
  16. How are you supposed to know where your rads are set in, say, a yak though?
  17. v senior dev types online all day yesterday, clearly mucking out the hanger ready to roll the ol' gal out to us today. And frankly, I can't wait.
  18. Not a collectors! run away, re-climb for altitude, come back and kill them. Honestly, in a 7b your performance is similar enough to your opponent that the only time you won't catch them is when they're in a deck race away from you. Grab a little time on Berloga in the 7b if you don't believe me! She's got moves! Also consider that if you're in a fair fight, you're doing it wrong. Jump em, shoot them in the back before they know you're there.
  19. Frequently. But not SO much faster by Kuban. Even 190s have a hard time running away from a 7B down low. You may not close the distance, but you can keep them on the defensive.
  20. Oh god yes. VB is a joy to fly, but with only 6 secs of cannon ammo, I think the 7B is more useful as a 'general' fighter...
  21. Bombs were only historically used by Tempests in the last week of the war - after the end of career. And your milage may vary, but for my money the Yak 7b is my favoured Kuban ride.
